The American Express Platinum card, Capital One Venture X, and Chase Sapphire Reserve are the crown jewels of the credit card world…but one of these stands well above the others. The Sapphire Reserves $550 annual fee is tough to justify unless you use some of the odd credits it offers and many of the spending multipliers only kick in after you spend $300 per category. The Amex Platinum has the highest annual fee at $695 per year but is more easily justified thanks to its long list of premium travel benefits including unmatched airport lounge access and over $1500 in mostly useful credits. But those are both shown up by the Capital One Venture X in my opinion which is just $395 per year but has a $300 annual travel credit and a 10,000 mile anniversary bonus every year that you have this card and those two benefits alone will more than cover that annual fee not to mention 2 miles per dollar on everything.

The CSR's priority pass is not the same as the VX or Amex plat priority pass. The inclusion of restaurants and experiences can be nothing or everything to you depending on where you travel.
For me, it's a gigantic boost as my home airport has 3 priority pass restaurants.

Can you get into Priority Pass restaurants? I’ll wait… CSR 💪🏾

I agree with the restaurant credit has been a game changer for my family. My home airport has one small PP lounge that is difficult to access due to overcrowding, but have always managed to use my $100+ credit every time we fly out. I’d hazard a guess that in the US, the restaurant benefit is far more valuable than PP lounge benefit.

Thanks for another great video! Can you all do a video for transferring Cap 1 points for travel? I often see more talk of transferring Chase points. Thanks!

Adding the VX to my wallet was huge. The C1 duo might be my favorite for variety categories for a casual traveler.

I want the platinum card but I’m in pop jail:( people referral or public offers don’t work for me, I have the Amex gold card and yesterday in my offers I was approved for blue cash preferred I was surprised I did not get that pop up, So is it better to wait to apply for Amex platinum if it’s in your offers

Hi, I keep learning more and more about the miles and points approach to travel. I’ve paid for few flights in the last 5 years and have used points for hotels and rental cars! We have Chase Sapphire Preferred and Capital One X; which card is better to use for our every day purchases to build up our points? Thanks so much!

Venture X. It has 2X points on every purchase vs 1X for the Sapphire Preferred

Can you do a video on first time using your card status to get into a lounge? Do you just go up to the desk and wave your card or is it a secret handshake

How about the US Bank Altitude Reserve? Its a great points generating machine. No travel partners but a nice 50% boost for travel.

No travel partners. 😢. This channel focuses on high 2-10+ CPP redemptions. It's what gets the views.

How is the Chase Sapphire Reserve points worth 90k points? You dont multiple your points by 1.5x. Don't you mean "$900 worth of travel"?
