Get that overland in AEB-L, now we're talking. I love your guys' A2. Wouldn't mind more options in D2, but A2 is too good at too many things to really pass up. Would love to see the JX2 in A2 as well. Nothing against O1, it's just "blah" anymore. I like that slight addition of stain resistance and improved edge retention in A2. But, sometimes it's nice to be able to look at a steel and a strop and the blade nearly sharpens itself, enter O1.
Thanks for doing this video gentlemen. I really enjoyed it. 3v all the way, baby! Maybe a little cpm154 or aebl, on occassion! Love the term "hot rod steels."
I just picked up a AEB-L Scandi grind Patriot from Blade Show West! I'm so excited to use it. I haven't had an AEB-L knife before, but I think based on what y'all said I'm gonna like it just fine! I am a slacker with knife maintenance sometimes... so maybe a stainless is good for me in the wet PNW. :D I'm going to use it mostly for bushcrafty wood processing stuff like fire prep and EDC.
I like in Oklahoma and the humidity here is ridiculous. I have a o1 steel knife that will rust just setting in the sheath on my nightstand with a coat of oil on it. Aeb-l really interests me. I'd like to get one sometime.
Very soon I'll be starting to buy the L.T Wright knives. I have gone through a lot reviews on different knives but my heart seems to fall for the L.Ts .
AEBL is tough as 3V at 60HRC! You might want to consider to run it harder than 57-59 for some added edge stability. Might make a difference at scandi grind!
Not sure why LT Wright heat treat all their steels at the sucky soft 57-59 HRC, warranty safe maybe? Leave some performance on the table for steel like AEB-L, 3V and now the new PSB 27. 57-59 for A2 is ok but I'd still prefer A2 @60.
I got my first of write yesterday. It will not be my last . I was going to fit a bark river funny but of knives were at an agasin case . I personally fell in love with the g n s
Great video. My Jessmuk-C in AEB-L is my EDC fixed blade, if I get kydex for my 3V Mini Pendleton Hunter I may try that, but I think the belly for slicing on the Jessmuk-C will almost always bring me back to it. However, I was curious why LT said he wouldn't use 3V for a big chopper. It seems to me that 3V's toughness would make it a top notch chopper, even more than S7.
I have about used every high end knife, custom and factory made, over about 36 years of bushcraft and Survival. I have had original Alan Wood (Woodlore) to Jacklores and about any fine English made knife. The Genesis is the best Bushcraft knife I have ever used with the exception of none. I reccomend this knife to all my students, buy once cry once and its worth every shilling. The best bushcraft knife in the world.
Well said. I love a CPM 3V with a high convex edge. I live in the desert in Arizona and a 4-4.5 inch blade works great. I will admit I have been tempted to add one of your knives for a while. I just love my Bark River Bravo 1 so much. I love the handle and shape. I have 3V dialed in on my 4 other blades I have.
Very informative thank you. Just wondering if the different steels are more suitable for particular grinds? Personally, I'm leaning towards a Genesis with a Saber grind. After watching this, I'm thinking A2, possibly 3V. Thanks.
I recently stumbled onto your company and within the past two weeks have picked up a Camp Muk 3V and now a Maverick Scout. Your knives are very underpriced for the quality of product. I also prefer the A2 over the 3V and, after convexing the edge, it can be stropped back in a matter of minutes. The Maverick Scout paired up with a Spyderco Native 5 in LC200n will be my new go to when taking the canoe out this summer. Y'all are doing excellent work!
Great video, I’m in Florida and I’m assuming I should consider AEB-L or 3v as a steel choice. Should I even consider carbon steel as an option in Florida?
could you sandwich an A2 or CMP-3V between AEB-L to be used as a chopper/machete for example? would the outer steel offer protection against the elements while that inner steel offers that great edge? can those steels even be used together?
Thx for vid! for the first time i thinking to buy a knife more expensive then Mora Classic 2 what i think still today is the best knife for camp task in my opinion. LTWK Lagom will be my choice of knife. Is it still around to buy? Greatings from Sweden.
If it troubles you, get off of soy and see you DR about your low T as this topic to even be in a mans mind suggest issues warranting attention. In an outdoor setting wtf does it matter?
I'm right there with LT. I absolutely love D2. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing every ltwk model in D2
I have been non-stop using your guys' A2 in my Boattail Scandi and have been extremely impressed. The knife's performance has seriously blown me away.

Can't wait to get my camp kitchen and mini pouter to go with my traveler that impressed me so much.
In the mail right now.
I love my genesis in A2 and gen5 in A2 and my GNS in AEBL great knives 🔪

Great video. I really enjoyed hearing everyones opinions. The long format videos are very educational.
Great conversation thanks for sharing.

You won’t regret it. The fit and finish on every one I ever bought is flawless. Much better than other companies in the same price range (BR)
I've got the GW Bushcraft Hunter, and your ø1 is a-m-a-zing. I love that knife.
Great help. Thanks.
Cheers, BR

Yo it’s Billy from shop below you, awesome content and really like this style of vid. Take care.
Love your blades! Have the GNS saber grind in O1. And the next gen in 3V
Can't say enough good about LT Wright blades.
Gr8 discussion, guys! Would love to see more talks like this. Thanks for your hard work.

Great video from a great company.
Very informative. Love your knives and your JEEP!

Thanks! We truly appreciate the support!
Would you rather have another inch on the blade though? For me I feel like 5-5.5in is still perfectly maneuverable but I'd love to hear what you think
And do you pick convex, scandi, flat, or saber?
Great talk. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Nice discussion guys, thanks.
Cool video. I've been really looking at buying an LT Wright knife lately. Not sure which one yet. Thanks for the info on your steels👍
Thanks for watching!
@@LTWrightKnives Just received my Genesis today from Knives Ship Free! Wow! Love it!! Awesome craftsmanship👍👍
@@jeffhanson2621 Thank you for the kind words!
Love the jeep!! Just ordered 2 knives .. keep up the great work!!

My favorite steels are Magna-Cut, 3V, and A2. Have Genesis in Ironwood/A2.
Thank you for watching!

Very informative video!!!!!
Very informative conversation......
Good video! Thanks for keeping it simple enough for me 😂

Not in our experience...
My Bushbaby does great as an edc in an urban environment.
Gen 5 in Saber or Convex. ......so want one. Dreaming :-)
Great instruction.

Great info, thanks and God bless

Hi Chris, no we can't do that. Don't know if that would work.

The Lagom is only available at Bensbackwoods.com
Thanks for the video. Where can we find find a gen5 or gen 6 in 3v?
Great video...K390...VANADIS4E...3V...
More!
The 3V model that’s passed around at the beginning of the ‘3V’ discussion(starting at 14:17); which model is that....??
GNS
@@LTWrightKnives Thank you. Is the Switchback a scaled down version of the GNS...?
@@theblake5356 No, it's a different design.
@@LTWrightKnives I would love to see something in Cru-Wear. Is that something you guys might do in the future....?
@@theblake5356 No plans at this time.
Which steel from the LT Wright offerings, has the best heat treatment? I've heard their A2 is good, but how is their AEB-L or their 3V heat treatment?
All of our knives receive the same heat treat process with the only change being the time and temperature required for the type of steel.
A2 is the King!
I just ordered my first L.T. WRIGHT KNIFE the Bandit in Snake Skin Micarta from SMKW.COM can not wait to get it.
Thanks!
I would of love my Jx3 to be stainless I use it for food prep and fishing 😊
Holy cicada in the background
1095 for me
Send some left hand sheaths to SMKW. The sheath exchange is ok, but I have to pay to ship the rh sheath back to you.
Leftie discrimination IS REAL!!
Glad to see LT is with the times, not MAN SPREADING like those youngsters 😜
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
