Miss seeing the jeep build.. You ok brother? I know life can get in the way. I plan on attempting to paint my 80 CJ5 tub sometime soon. Probably a winter project for me. I have a new aluminum tub that should be interesting.
You are a worker , prep work is everything . I have a 75 cj5 that i am getting ready to paint . Did the underside in Por-15 , finished the inside and wheel wells In Raptor .... Thinking about painting the outside in Raptor to . Your Jeep is going to look amazing. Your a craftsman , be proud .
I’ve actually never used a paint stripper before… I’ll definitely give it a try next time! Have you had good experiences using them? Thanks for watching!
@@NickDowner brush it on, let it react and scrape off. It has it’s own type of mess but you’re not cleaning as much sanding dust off of ever little nook and cranny of your garage.
Looked like you were possibly still getting fine dust under your mask. YUK! Hope you can save the hood. Looked like it may need a little hammering though. Are you going to put Raptor Liner under the hood and inside the engine compartment? As far as the hood goes there should be a long rubber seal that goes above and around the grill to help secure the hood easier. It should give you a little cheat factor in that area. Thank you and you are doing a great job.
Yeah it was gnarly! I think I’m going to do that matte finish “trim black” in the engine bay… it lays down soooo well! Ooo thanks for the tip about the seal! I’ll look it up online… that may be just what I need to get everything fitting well. Thanks for watching BWC!
Yeah I agree. I wish I had easier access to a sandblaster! If I did this project again I'd disassemble everything and get it sand blasted first. Would have saved me a lot of headache haha :) Thanks for watching!
MD Juan makes a good repop hood. I have one on mine, and, it fit nicely.
Good to know!! Thanks Scott!
My favorite shot was the dust and sun rays ☀️
Awesome job Nick... You've really figured this out!!😁

Thanks ozark! I really appreciate it. I’m still figuring out things as I go but I’m super excited for the final product!
This is awesome! Love the super high quality videos! Can’t wait to see the rest!
Thanks Wiley!!
Hi Nick, I have the same issue with the rust forming between the two panels on the fenders...what did you do to fix it on your CJ? TIA
👍looking great!
Thanks Ed! I appreciate it!! It was fun getting it somewhat cleaned up.... gave me a snapshot of how epic it'll be when I'm done with paint!
Hi there what colour do you want to paint it ?
Hey Jeff! Right now I'm really considering "Nardo Grey" with black accents everywhere (hinges, and any bolt on accessories). Thanks for watching!
@@NickDowner good choice 👍👍👍
Why not use a paint stripper to get most of it off then sand the remainder to reduce the mess with dust?

After market hoods rarely fit. I ended up buying used one from Davey jeep parts in Ohio
Eek! Thanks for sharing…. I’ll definitely check out Dave’s Jeep Parts! Thanks for watching!
Getting her clean is a big step forward, with the rust in the windshield frame, sand blasting might have been a better option
