I did one off a curb today, it was my first trick off of something. I was absolutely terrified of doing anything off of any drop but I just got it decently down on flatground and just sent it. Got it within 10 tries. Felt so cool. I got tre flips before doing a trick off of a drop 💀
Hey, I finaly started skatebording today! It was my first time in the skatepark and i've been there 5 hours. Thanks for the inspiration from the video's, i love it. Keep up the awesome video's
First Try! haha. Wanted to tell you guys you are an inspiration. I just moved back to CA and am 1 mile from Alga Norte Skate Park in Carlsbad. I'm 45 and used to skate everyday. I still surf like crazy, but just picked skating back up again after not skating for 17 years. Went last Friday and was surprised at how fast the rust went away. Going to watch your vids and get back the kickflips, ollies, and so on. It doesn't matter how old you are, just go and challenge yourself. My son is 2 years old and is addicted already. He just had his first solo ride the other day. Get outside and live my people. Rock. If nothing else, get a board under you feet and just cruise around the park and watch and learn. At the end of the day it's all about fun and good vibes. My body feels so good after skating too. :)
I want to see a video of Aaron learning a new trick that he hasn't learned yet. He's been skateboarding for so long that the list probably isn't too long.
I have been skating for 25yrs. I have periods where I can kick flip drops occasionally, but mostly I'm spending hours chasing the trick. I really hope this video will help me tomorrow at the park.
Hey Aaron before telling u what i want to learn i have to tell u THANKS DUDE u have been my inspiration to skate i have 3 o 4 months on this channel and without having a skateboard i already know how to ollie and all thanks to YOU when i get a board im going to go straight to the frontside 180 cuz is next in the list well anyways... Thanks Lance for reading this message and telling Aaron about this luv u all the Braille... I was wondering if u could make a video about filiming cuz i want to be a UA-camr. :D
Hey man! Great to hear from you and thank you for your feedback! I'll be sure to pass the message on to Aaron for ya! And as far as a video about filming- we'll see what we can do! Braille University should have courses on this!
This is where I was when I quit skating. And will be my main focus when I start again. I'm hoping after I get the kickflip all the other tricks will come easy.
I would like to thank you for helping me find my kickflip again. Now I can gradually try and overcome my fear of doing a kickflip down an object. Once again thank you for helping us. Greetings from Belgium.
Something I noticed in the slow mo clips that I'm really bad at is the timing of popping off an obstacle at the last second. I always pop really early which adds in the length of the board basically to what I have to clear. You guys have almost the whole board hanging over the end of the obstacle before popping. I don't know if that makes sense, but a video explaining how to judge the timing on that would be really helpful
Hmm, I hear you! We can see about making a video on that for sure. It sounds like you learned something from this video as well. You should try popping a little later and see if that helps!
Are there skatepark where you do tricks off a ledge onto some sort of foam pit? I feel like this could really help in just catching the board. Similar to the guys doing tricks on motocross.
just yesterday learned how to kick flip off a 3 stair and it took me about 15 try's, but I did it, I never done it off a curb or off a box or anything so that was pretty cool to start off a 3 stair, and a day after at school I did it off the 4 stair they had in less then 10 try's, after school I tried to ollie a 7 stair. The most I did was a 5 stair, I almost landed it but my back foot fell of the board and I did the splits... it hurt but tomorrow I'm going back for the 7 stair. love the tips, tips ;)
How to exercise for skateboarding, I find that if I take long breaks from skating and rest and exercise my legs I don't lose my skill, it actually improves. I can kickflip 2 stair perfectly and even a 4 stair but with only good legs. Also my feet are not in priper alignment so that adds to difficulty. I noticed that your hips play a huge role in catching fliptricks. I have scoliosis as well and find that I lean back like Lance and turn my shoulders, how can I strengthen my balance i.e my feet, hips and shoulders, so that I can skate better. I'm 17 and feel like my body is much older.
Is it bad that when u do a kickflip it looks like u do it late but it goes high asf and is the same positioning as the one Aaron Pointed out when he said it flicks much slower is it bad too do your kickflips like that on flat
i landed my first kickflip yesterday and i have been practising ever since and i can now do five in a row rolling so what should i do first a small curb or some stair like a 2 or 3????
When someone asks me how to accomplish their first kickflip, I *always* tell them to get the trucks off and practice it on grass (just with a gripped deck). Try to master the flick first. I first tried to kickflip for days on flat ground, and barely landed one out of 50 tries or so. But when I practiced on grass with just a deck without trucks or anything on it, I could get the hang of a good flick. After that, it didn't take long to do it for real. A friend learned it by practicing on a springy mattress, with just a grip-less blank deck and socks on. - I just think the fastest way to learn to kickflip is to first master a good flick. Get that right first. EDIT: If you just can't master a good flick yet, it is too soon for you to learn to kickflip. Just have fun instead skating. Do other stuff. Learn other tricks. Master all the basics. Perfect them.
For me I just had to commit . I landed mine by accident lol I was like omfg I landed a kickflip and after that I just kept practicing it and I got them on lock
Hey, I want to learn boardslide I tried 4 times and I get my board on the rail but I broke my deck every 4 tries that I did. I am not afraid of landing the trick at all, but I spent a lot of money on decks just for boardslide that I'm really tired of doing it. I really want to know what I'm doing wrong and why this happens and how can I do it without breaking my board. No tutorial on YT ever talks about this issue. I would appreciate if you could give me some tips. Thanks btw I am 182cm in height and I weigh around 90kg
hey umm I'm new to skateboarding but i no how to ride around with it i can cruise with it but i ride walmart/ toy r us board idk what it is because i found it someone throw it away I'm gonna buy a skate tool but is it ok if i us it cuz i can't find any skateboard shop in brooklyn
Great video as always! Bring back the series where you go to a store and you buy things to make a board for your competitor. I think it's called skate everything wars?
There’s a two stair that I kick flipped down by accident and landed it while my board was staying together by only grip tape and I can’t land it now I’ve been trying it for a month and can’t do it so I hope this vid helps. I’ll let you know
The idea is to build up to it and just keep trying it over and over, the more you try and bail out and sometimes fall the better you will get and eventually build the confidence to do it consistently. Also think of it in a way that will make it easier for you. Think of another trick that is similar and change it slightly or think of it on flat ground. Falling badly breaks confidence, but you have to build up to it so you dont fall that bad and that often. Shit happens sometimes and it will push you backwards.
Just getting back onto skating after about 7 years, landed a few tricks I’ve never done before, tried to kickflip a curb today and 40+ tries can’t do it. After all those tries ngl my motivation for skating is fading, like back in the day I used to be able to 180 10 stairs but now I can’t even kickflip a curb🙁
I wanna see Lance Half Cab everything!!! Mini ramp, 3 set do a half cab to board slide a small rail. A lance progression Half cab compilation. Have skate support from Gab, Fetty, Troy, Aaron.. I know you can do it Lance!!!
For kids i git an amzing tip .... When u skate a curb or flat you put ur feet in the most confterbol position that u can perfct flick and leav it like that but just put your feet more up like uder the bolts depends how high if its a 5 and up stair u put your feet right under the bolts bc the high ur feet is the slower the board flips but if its a 3 or 4 stair u put ur feet normal
I probably need to learn how to kickflip on flat first
Jill Leflour same 😂😂
You definitely need to check skateboarding made simple available on all platforms first
Same
Can I hit 100 subs
Just flick out to the side of your board, it will look ugly as fuck but it's a start.
I did one off a curb today, it was my first trick off of something. I was absolutely terrified of doing anything off of any drop but I just got it decently down on flatground and just sent it. Got it within 10 tries. Felt so cool. I got tre flips before doing a trick off of a drop 💀

You're welcome! Hope it helped!
Just wanna say thanks cos i learn so many tricks from you guys ,and just watching your videos is really inspiring.
Aaron did you forget you’re pro???? “I’m a sponsored skateboarder from the San Francisco Bay Area”
Mike Nowlan he never said that in the old vids
He read your comments about being a pro. He shouldn't listen to you all
Just sticking to the classic line haha
Thats what i figured hahaha
I've been practicing on my Ollie and i haven't done one yet . But I can't turn better on my board now. Thank you for your the videos and advice.👍👍
Kickfliped my first curb today, this actually helped

I finally just got a skateboard today. It seems like the trucks are very loose. How tight should they be?
I watch u every single day
Soo. Whats the ramp thing thats on the stairs? Ive neer seen somthing like it before
Are there skatepark where you do tricks off a ledge onto some sort of foam pit? I feel like this could really help in just catching the board. Similar to the guys doing tricks on motocross.
I want to learn how to set skateboard goals (what types of goals are good goals) and how to achieve them!
