Your podcasts are always so insightful, even on 3 hours of sleep. I always come away with 1 or 2 great tips.

Love your coaching videos James. I’ve been working on a couple drills you bring up in here and the way you break it down really helps. You are a sweetheart and I will always be cheering you and Anna on!

I was watching, so wanting whatever team you were on to win! I know how good AL & BJ are but it’s like NASCAR. It got old seeing Jeff Gordon & Jimmy Johnson win all the time. I’ll be rooting for you this weekend! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

Despite your jammed schedule & hotel room, you turned out a juicy podcast. Thanks for the takeaways!
PS: envisioning a frisbee throw totally explained the body mechanics!

Honest question for James...i noticed you bounce nonstop between actual play. In exercise physiology, this is called NEAT and it adds up in terms of calories burned and I know some tennis players bounce such as djokovic when he's returning serve but I see that as a few split steps joined together. Ive never seen anyone do what you do. It seems like alot of pent up energy. Can you give some insight?

Great tip comparing back hand flick with a Frisbee throw. Was wondering why that shot comes so easy....Love PPA and get bored after 5 minutes of MLP...level of play, but rally scoring takes the strategy and joy out of it. Same with all my friends but we're old 50-60. Glad to see the $$$ though, you'll earn it!

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks rally scoring sucks and MLP is boring lol

Awesome tips and insights about playing on the left side. Hope to see you play with Ben again, hopefully you'll both be able to get the results you want in the future for Men's Doubles.
Just curious if you had any other analogies to hitting certain shots "better" or "easier to visualize"...
Flinging a frisbee = backhand flick
Tossing a ball = serve (honestly, the first time I've heard this and I'm definitely going to try this out the next time I hit) #1servePB=James

Hi James-I’m intrigued with your explanation of flick mechanics: visualize throwing a frisbee. I’ve played frisbee all my life and want to use what I know and experiment with a pickleball flick. I throw both side arm and underhand discs. Which throw would you imitate for a flick? Do you have any pointers on the best paddle angle for when it makes contact with the ball. Thanks a lot!

Any idea why PPA didn't upload your loss with Ben? I really wanted to watch it, sucks that it seems like the only game they didn't add to YT
edit: it's finally up. But PPA still didn't even post the full vid for the Men's gold doubles, wtf

Anyone know where I can watch the game the Ben and James lost? The ppa never posted that game.

Regardless of the outcome, playing with Ben is a great experience to grow and learn from imo. As far as my takeaway from watching your quarterfinal match, I’d say you have the power game mostly figured out, but to become a great player, you definitely need the feel and touch game (dinks , drops, resets), while remaining poised and patient. IMHO, of course.

Jimmy I have been practising full bag speed ups off the bounce vs all the 90+ grannies at my rec courts. I haven't made many friends. Should I bring cookies? Or just drop shot them instead?

Saw this match. Ben had some dumb speed-ups at Riley's pancake. Seemed like a bit of a pissing contest between the two, unfortunately.

How are you transferring weight with the Frisbee BH snap roll. Aren't your feet parallel to the kitchen line?

@@briantungate6803 Lean forward and as you snap forward, snap your butt or body backm You could also alternatively, kick your opposite foot back for balance and extra plow through, leverage and weight transference
