    There’s a limited amount of spots for goalies. Many of them are taken by young goalies that teams want to to invest in their development, hoping to develop into an NHL goalie. Some teams want to add an experienced goalie to help the young goalie along. There’s a lot of experienced goalies that have NHL experience that they can choose from. The problem with Kasimir is he is a tweener. Nobody looks at him as a goalie that they can develop into an NHL goalie and nobody looks at him as an NHL experienced goalie that will help the young goalie along. Yes in an ability standpoint he may be better than both but he just doesn’t fit what teams long term objectives are, which is to develop players to the NHL.

    I don’t believe the UA-cam thing is a big deal. I do believe that, all things being equal, teams will take a younger player over an older player. A younger player has more potential upside. That’s the difference.

    Kasmir Kaskisuo seems so calm in the chaos, and sometimes I wonder if coaches and GMs misjudge him for it. Are they looking for crazy (Bryzgalov)? Pumped up? A Ron Hextal type? Kaskisuo's personality, at least outwardly, is none of those things. And yet, he has all the tools.

    Being different is a double edged sword.
    Yea maybe it’s hurting him right now with the old heads while he’s in his playing career.
    On the other hand when he retires from playing I don’t see him being unemployed for long.
    If you watch his videos he’s really on the cutting edge of tech when it comes to equipment and training.
    If I ran an nhl team i’d want him on my coaching staff at least in some capacity!

    He was an excellent goalie at Minnesota Duluth, but he turned pro just as they were becoming a powerhouse in 2016. I remember his final NCAA game was a loss to Thatcher Demko and Boston College in the 2016 quarterfinal when the puck was laying on the goal line behind Demko but didn't completely cross the line and BC won 3-2.

      @@blondeshoooter it’s not that hard to figure it out. He would be filming behind the scene’s stuff of an NHL team. That’s really exclusive footage. Big companies pay a lot of money just to get their cameramen in a locker room and make a docuseries. He would be profiting off of an NHL team in a way management and ownership would likely not be comfortable with. The NHL wants to promote players through their talent and skill on the ice not through a camera lens, after all they have their own cameramen. They also would have no control over what he filmed or shows on UA-cam. And honestly when you’re in the professional leagues you should only come to practice and game day with one thing on mind and that’s to perform on ice, not to film. At least in the NHL that should be the standard.

    • @Krrish85
      @Krrish85 6 днів тому

    no. He is 30+? I believe. If you follow minor / major stuff many AHL teams will not sign a guy his age. The pension thing could be a thing. That said age is age. If he was a forward I bet he could still find a team. These things are not as complicated as they seem.

    At 31 years old
    Less than 120 games between AHL and NHL.
    Career sub .910 AHL goalie.
    He has never been a dominant AHL goalie and at 31 to get a nhl contract you need to be viable nhl callup which he isnt.
