@@Nemorosus that's cool! It's weird though because one is poly and one is mono/Para. Too bad you couldn't keep the Peak so you'd have a poly synth to go with your grandmother.
I don’t know why, but I prefer the bass here over what the Subsequent 37 does. I tend to like smooth deep music over hard aggressive music.. guess I answered my own question lol. To me, I feel like the Grandmother/Matriarch has a fuller sound. I hear the fullness in the midrange area. On the Subsequent 37 it sounds more hollow in the mids but very subby on the bottom and it has a sharp top end.
It’s curious. The Grandmother was the first synth I ever played personally, but I couldn’t really afford it. Since then I’ve played many synths, trying to find the right one, and even owned a couple.. but the reality is that none of them have the Grandmother’s magic. The truth is, it’s not perfect (for me, anyway). I would much prefer it was truly polyphonic (thus not paraphonic like the Matriarch) and had presets. But nothing else in the world has that same sonic quality. Instantly familiar somehow, like something found in the back of an old dusty attic..
Check out my free Moog Grandmother sample pack: bit.ly/grandmother-samples Enjoy! 😊
this thing shakes the hell out of my subs at around 8:00. that was a brilliant presentation
Very nice, thank you!!!
I’m going to be your 100th subscriber! Thank you for the demonstration!
Thank you for following! :) Cheers!
Brilliant…. And no patch cables needed
7:33 Jake break simulator!
This video kind of shows the limits of this synth
awesome! I want to sell my Peak for this. I know I probably shouldn't as it's my only polysynth..but wow, the Grand Mother has such a character.
Take it from me. Keep your gear.
@@ultrajayme It has already happened. I love the GM so much..

@@ultrajayme I agree. It was a decision that had to be made because of money. Couldn't have one, without selling the other.
@@Nemorosus been there many times! I'm just saying it's hard to get stuff back once you sell it. Made that mistake before and it's a hard one.
Reminds me the Moog Prodigy.
Mind if i sample this
The best sinth ever❤

Best synth Moog ever made 👍
Except for the matriarch……;)
Except for the Moog Voyager...
i want one so bad
I'm getting this synth later this month absolutely ecstatic right now
Same!
@@evanwright9016 I got it it's a fun little guy my music theory teacher loves it.
So, this synth doesn't let you store sounds that you create? I don't see a patch menu screen.
Yes, it's a semi-modular synthesizer, and there are no presets.
Not for you lazy clowns
Dope
I was planning to sell grandmother to switch on matriarch idk what to do )))) such an amazing synth
Don't sell.
There is only buy.
@@ultrajaymeI agree 100%but when synths getting more expensive hard to collect money for another new synth )))

Would you trade an octatrack mkII for this?
If I was mainly working on samples, then why not. If you love the Moog sound, the Grandmother is a wonderful choice.
