- Playing with the delays as a live improvisation instrument, using the Arturia MicroFreak and Zoom MS-70CDR.

The patches for the MicroFreak and the MS-70 are included below.
This jam features three Zoom MS-70CDRs running in parallel, with long delays timed to fill in the gaps in the slow eight note arpeggiated pattern played by the MicroFreak. The long delays are accompanied by a trigger (fast, repetitive) delay, a filter delay, an auto-pan delay and a reverse delay. Delays are turned on and off during the jam to vary the melody and intensity.
The Zoom MS-70CDR patches are included below. To load a patch into the MS-70, connect your MS-70 to your computer using a USB cable, go to g200kg.github...., right-click an available patch slot, select "Import Patch from text", and paste in this text.

The MicroFreak patch is named "GuitrArp WF", and can be downloaded from the files section of the Arturia MicroFreak facebook group.
The audio is recorded on a Korg KP2S and normalized in Audacity. Video is recorded on iPhoneX. Audio and video is synchronized in DaVinci Resolve 15.

Your pieces have been really inspiring. Your use of effects to supplement rather than mangle the sound of the synth is really great. Are the patches for the ms70cdr compatible with the ms50g? I am planning on buying one of those but would like to know that as there seems to be much more videos related to ms70cdr patches
Monitus Music the lists of built in effect algorithms for the two pedals are not completely equal, but I think there’s a lot of overlap. As far as I understand, you can load a MS70 patch into the MS50 and it will load all effect algorithms that matches the ones it has built in and ignore the rest.
Good demo piece. My take-away from this video is "No such thing as too many delays". I really like parallel effects too. my mixer has 4 effects sends and returns and I use them all and fade in the blends of whatever I want. I like how you add the low notes to the arp pattern. Also, your gear description says volca, not freak.
jj rusy I’m learning that it’s ok to have multiple delays, but I have to be careful about the delay times, or the notes will clash and the sound can easily become too cluttered. Thanks for letting me know about the error in the description. Fixed now 😀.

Is the kp2s worth getting?
I like it a lot. Great for those really compact setups. Battery operated if you are on the go. Nice to be able to record. Very immediate with the touch pad. Nice effects. Cheap. Good value for the money, at least for me :-).
