Thanks for the lessons Troy. You're a great straightforward & down-to-earth teacher. I've been learning a lot from you. Are you using the same slide for the Dobro & lap steel? Also, what brand & model of lap steel is on your Facebook page? I have not been able to access your website. I tried yesterday & just awhile ago but still can't access it. Does the site take awhile to load?
@TheUkeRick
The tuning is (from thickest to thinnest) G B D G B D
Getting 90's homesick, wish we could cruise back to these times... Please jam on this, for 30 minutes or so.
Yes the Beards Dobros are nice. That have a guitar model out now that isn't a
Resonator.
Nice lesson here to learn alot of good things.
I love the sound too, it's the main reason why I'm considering to get a square necked dobro right now. ;)
I think I could play one of those. I can finger pick a guitar. I love that sound and you do a good job.
excellent teacher
Спасибо за урок! Класс!
Great lessons...thanks for posting these for beginners.
I just bought a used Recording King. Do you know anything about this brand? Thanks.
thanks Troy - great licks to learn

I am left handed, are there any differences in set up or any other facets of the instrument or other factors I am to new to recognize.
Great postings!
@pldileo1 it's so that you can see which string he's playing - that's all.
@reckonimokie Beard Gold Tone dobros are pretty nice. Great set-ups here in the USA.
Whta's the use for the black cover underneath the strings ?
My guess is that it makes it easier to see which strings are getting plucked.
Good job Troy, Thanks!
Gretsch Resonators are fantastic. Even the one that's $360 sounds like one that is 600 or 700 dollars
What's a descent sounding resonator to buy at $400-$650 price range...beginner? Thx.
great lessons!
I assume your in open G tuning ?
He said it was in "G' Pay Attention!!
He said gbdgbd, that G tuning.
why can't i find that tune on my guitar?
hi troy, please could you suggest me a song or an artist similar to this lesson??? thx
Thanks for this video!
HOW DO I PURCHASE THIS LESSON?
cool j adore
thanks popoaggie! I'll check them out.
What's that in your left hand, the thing that you use to slide?
huh...?!? It's actually called a slide
oh... I see... thanks
Simon Taddio It's also known as a bar or steel.
@TheUkeRick yes
That is what he said gbdgbd tuning is open G.
GBDGBD is actually High G tuning or Dobro G tuning. Open G is DGDGBD.
He's playing a lap style square neck resonator so it's usually gbdgbd unless he says different...
sorry my add got the best of me here. Im sure the rest was really good.
??
great lessons!
