Baby boomer DEFINITELY built, and furnished this house. That's probably part of the reason it's so over priced.
I also was like wow just screw the environment, let's make it into the ugliest dining table imaginable instead.
maybe it had fallen.
Not all trees are cut while alive. I think that this had probably some protected status. Although, look back in history and see all the majestic sequoias that were cut down long before I was born. You can still hike among them and climb on their stumps.

I currently work installing high end appliances. In my experience, the people who can afford to spend 5 million dollars on a beach house and $100,000 on kitchen appliances are usually elderly or at least middle aged. At least that's how the economy worked out for previous generations. The decor of the house in this video likely matches the age of the occupants.
I can't believe someone actually got paid to decorate a home like this. It's like they scavenged everything from a 1980's roadside motel.

luke mcaleer that what I thought it was at first

yeah I thought there would be a water slide, at least from the beach house, and then stairs that would take you up like 1 flight, that then would get you to a lift that would take you back up to the beach house.
And secondly, I am disappointed that there is no pool anywhere in that structure. There should be at least a lap pool there, besides just a fricken hot tub. That would make the house truly worth some $$$$$

The glass isnt see through i think
@@frankg1969 While that might be true during the day due to ambient sun light glare off the glass and especially true if there is a reflective mirror tint on the glass. All bets are off though at night time though as you can see right into the room if the lights are on.
When you hear the term "One Way Glass" (or one way mirror as some refer to it as) like that used for interrogation rooms or witness lineup rooms, its just a very thin highly reflective film on the glass that requires one side to be relatively well lit and the other side relatively dark. The dark side can see into the lit side but not the other way... So when the room is lit at night, I have zero doubt that some outside couldn't see into the room.
Edit: if you look at like 8:48 / 8:49, its dusk and all the lights are on inside both houses and the view from the drone footage clearly shows that you can see in.
With that said, from low elevations (like from the lake surface), the angle from the surface of the lake to inside the rooms would be such that unless someone was close to the glass itself, they are not going to be easily seen but my original comment about a telescope from the other side of the lake (especially if up from the lakes surface) still stands.
Chris yeah i think its one way look at 4:19

I think it reflects the native habitat with pine cones for cabinet knobs and the twigs for the bannisters. We had a cabin that was hand built by my dad and others, but much more rustic back in the 60's. No running water, but we did have a pump in the kitchen sink for water. I remember it nestled in the trees. We had brass beds and other older cast off furniture, so maybe they were trying to recreate their childhood on a grander scale. My great-grandparents had a Victorian home and I still prefer their original furniture to the modern stuff and appreciate well crafted woodwork and art like the sculptures in this house.
What is wrong with the decor?
I get if it’s your style, that’s fine. But it’s very plain, and seems like a great wolf lodge more than a home.
I like it, but it does seem like they havent re-decorated since the year it was built. Also for 75mill you'd expect an infinity pool, boat dock with a couple of jetskis or at least a marble bench top with 2 fridges in the kitchen
