Both the historic Silk Road and Sable Route, along which expensive furs were transported, passed through the region. yes, but 70% of Kazakhstan's population is Muslim. most people are open minded though

It is. The main religion us Islam. But probably 35% of population practices the religion. People call them Muslim but they don't even what are the main concepts of Islam unfortunately. But the religious literary is growing up year by year. People drink less. Ore mosques. There are also Christian Churches. Mainly Russians of Kazakhstan are orthodox Christians. There are more than 100 nations in Kazakhstan. Kazakhs around 65%, Russians 25% and others!
