I just watched this video with the intention of knowing what that rectangular stone was used for - and you clarified everything about the dressing stone. Thank you. Have a Blessed day.
So, a couple of clarifications on what I understood to be conveyed: 1st: Catus mentioned the “green slime” (heat sensitive) GREEN COMPOUND goes on the off-white looking wheels. I thought he said they are cotton; however, I believe they are FELT. I find they work best if WD40 is first put on them BEFORE adding the green compound. And, by heat sensitive - it’s meant to have friction or heat to work & is therefore most effective on higher speeds. In the sharpening world, green is commonly used on stainless steel (ie:knives, etc) ALSO, the brick shaped “dressing” stone is generally used for truing your stones (leveling, straightening & smoothing-out chips, etc…) HFT actually DOES have an eraser-looking block for cleaning! Mostly for sanding belts & pads; but, I often use it for powered stone/grinding wheels & rotary types, like in the kit. Cheers!
Great review. Impeccable timing. Just picked up a Dremmel MultiPro for five dollars at estate sale. Came with a silly flap wheel. This kit will be just the ticket for $16 (w/ %20 hf coupon).
I have the exact same set, but here in New Zealand they're $25 from Supercheap Autos (our harbor freight). Used the adhesive backed discs and they're surprisingly effective.

HF also sells a 5 pack of diamond cutoff wheels, and I used those, and their little air micro die-grinder to cut the heads of hundreds of nails -- I needed to remove a wall of redwood siding which was so old and brittle than it would break when I tried pulling the nails out. I started with a Dremel and the regular cutoff wheels, but they wear out really fast, and break easily, and the tool was overheating after a couple of nails. So I went to HF and got the little grinder and the diamond wheels, and I cut off the rest of the heads with the first wheel. I like that micro die grinder better than my Dremel, though I still use the Dremel if the job is small enough.
Hello Catus, I don't wish to be disrespectful but I don't know how else to get this information to you. I have noticed that your right thumb has a yellow discoloration on it. This looks to me (I'm not a doctor) like a fungal infection. I had the same thing on the small toe of my left foot. I went to the doctor and he took a shaving from it for a sample, sent it away to be tested and it came back positive for some type of fungus. He prescribed me Terbinafine pills. Terbinafine comes in cream and pills. The cream is used for tinea while the pills are used for fungus in nails. Anyway, he prescribed me one pill a day for 60 days. After I finished the course the fungus "infected" nail gradually grew out over a number of months and totally disappeared leaving a perfectly healthy nail in it's place. I hope this helps.
@@iggbowmon3171 I’m a doctor and there are a few squeaky wheels who don’t understand what HIPPA is at all but they go around saying that they think everything others say and do might be a HIPPA violation. I would avoid any kind of systemic medication for an external fungus. I had 5 fungal infected toenails surgically removed and the nail bed chemically cauterized. Fungicidals pill can attack the heart valves and be poison to internal organs. Best to avoid.
thanks for the little tidbits about what the pieces are used for. Trying to get started and still very unsure what everything is for. From what I can gather a lot of these kits don't seem to even come with information as to what all the pieces are best suited for as far as work or material.
I just had this exact kit in my hands yesterday and set it back down, now I'm going to stop back and pick one up. Thank You for the great review Sir I'm subscribed.
Thank you so much for this. I bought this exact kit under the brand Rok along with their rotary tool (am in Canada). I wanted a Dremel but it was much cheaper to get this set and their tool just to see if I would use it enough to justify purchasing it. There was no information on what the different accessories were or what they were used for. This was really helpful. Also knowing another name it’s sold under might help me find a printable accessory identifier I can leave in the case. Currently cut through plastic and need to sand the edges. Didn’t realize there was an option for that. Thanks again!
Thanks for the review. Definitely appreciate you explaining what everything is and what they're often used for. I wasn't sure on several of them, including the whetstone.
Good review. I use a kit for the wide variety of attachments for the price to clean and polish aluminum and stainless steel custom motorcycle parts. Great for ferrules, acorn nuts, stainless brake disks, spokes and so on. Watch the wire brushes. I use hot glue to hold the wires in, but keep them at low rpms as you will get some flyers no matter what you do. Get the HF set, see which ones you use the most and replace those with Dremel branded parts.
Though Harbor Freight is known for not having the best power tools. I did buy the rotary power tool that you have to hang the motor above you. And it comes with a 3' foot flex shaft and a variable speed peddle. I bought it when HF was having one of there 20%'discount sales. So it didn't cost that much and in my opinion. Is probably one of the best investments. If you are looking for a decent quality rotary power tool. Not the rotary power tool bits that HF sales are iffy at best. I've had some exploded on me before I even got to use it. But the little sanding drums are just about as good as the Dremel brand. Now, on to what I really wanted to talk about. And that is the Foredom brand of rotary power tools. I was able to buy a complete set of Foredom rotary power tools at a local swap meet like 4 years ago for only $20 dollars. And it came with the motor that you hang above you and two different flex shafts and a variable speed on/off peddle. Plus a bunch of different rotary tool head pieces that connect to the flex shafts. And a bunch of different types of rotary tool bits. And if any of you know anything about the Foredom brand of rotary power tools. Than you know they are some of the best in the industry. They even make special rotary tool heads for the dental industry.

Be careful with the rubber polishing disks (I'm talking specifically about the disks, the ones that mount onto the mandrels). They are dangerous. I would recommend the lowest RPM setting you can get by with. Or hold the polishing disk to the work piece before turning on the rotary tool to reduce its speed. I recently had one shatter just from turning on the tool, the disk was brand new and nothing was touching it. It exploded solely off the rotational forces from spinning so fast. It got up to speed and just came apart launching pieces all over my shop with the largest piece hitting me right in the safety glasses ( luckily I was wearing safety glasses I very easily could not of been). At 20,000 that could very easily of taken out my eye. I don't think ill be using them with a rotary tool anymore. Ill use a cordless drill from now on (less speed & more torque is exactly what those disks need anyway). Its much safer in my opinion.
What you REALLY want to be careful with are the wire wheels. ABSOLUTELY wear eye protection when using them. [ you should wear it with all the attachments] but especially the wheels. Tiny pieces of wire come loose and fly everywhere. Having a doctor dig a 3 or 4 mm wire out of your eye is NOT fun.

I used it pretty heavil on a bathroom remodel project, and cut through probably about 30 or so 3" framing nails with the same blade. Brand name tools are way overpriced, and until everyone stops falling for it and stops buying them, that's not going to change.
Buying consumables at HF makes so much sense. If you are buying things you know are going to get destroyed through normal use, then thrown away; it doesn't make sense to pay extra for 'quality' trash does it? Remember, before there were "Hardware" stores, there were General stores that sold some tools. But, people used basic tools with which they made their own tools. That's a real skill. Milwaukee is easily better, especially the new brushless one. Also l acquired a Depstech cordless, with 5 different speeds, I'd say as god as a Dremel, around £69 but l got it with Amazon Discount for £46 !!! An exceptional bargain it's very well made, speaks quality, powerful and easy to use.
Dressing little grinding wheels if you grind soft materials like brass or aluminum they clogged up and then you use that block against the wheel to unclog them
Watch out for Chinese nok offs they disintegrate I had a wire brush wheel lose all the bristles and fire them into my chest had to take shirt off pull them out with players I was lucky I had no glasses on throw the drums away and any wire brush wheels any cutting discs that are held in with a screw they explode
There has not been a single rotary bit from Harbor Freight that has lasted for even one job for me they're complete junk and I really don't recommend anybody waste any money on these unless you're in a very big pinch in which case make sure you buy at least five of the bit you're going to use
I've used this same set for over 7 months now. And used Dremel bits that lasted a lot less of time. This set is $20.00. So its not like you're blowing a lot of money.
Im 100% with u@@lucifchristo , every diamond piece I used (which was every single one in this pack he jus did the review on) were completely wore out and barley cut thru the piece I was trying to get thru... this whole set is a waste of money n the only way it lasted this guy 7 months would of been sitting on his shelf and him not using it for the whole 7 months he had it.

Proxxon ist mindestens genauso gut.
Foredom ist besser!!!
Und es gibt noch andere Marken die ich aber noch nicht getestet habe
Milwaukee is easily better, especially the new brushless one.
Also l acquired a Depstech cordless, with 5 different speeds, I'd say as god as a Dremel, around £69 but l got it with Amazon Discount for £46 !!! An exceptional bargain it's very well made, speaks quality, powerful and easy to use.
4:00 it is not centered so it vibrates a lot
I’d never buy one of their products. Somehow I got on their email list and there’s no way to unsubscribe as there are from most random emails
Tem link da compra ?
What is the rectangle stone for
Dressing little grinding wheels if you grind soft materials like brass or aluminum they clogged up and then you use that block against the wheel to unclog them
Watch out for Chinese nok offs they disintegrate I had a wire brush wheel lose all the bristles and fire them into my chest had to take shirt off pull them out with players I was lucky I had no glasses on throw the drums away and any wire brush wheels any cutting discs that are held in with a screw they explode
Wtf I didn't get those super fine small sandpaper things
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
kool
I seen that befor
Diamond bits are lucky if they last for more than a few minutes
I WOULD NOT USE ANY NON DREMEL DISKS ...RISKY AND NOT THE HIGHEST QUALITY CONTROL
My diamond cutting wheel shattered and embedded in my hand. Wear gloves
Anyone try Walmarts Hart kit on the Dremel brand? If they fit Walmart has a great deal on their all in one bit set.
2:27 useless, when heated up , just it falls off (in 10 seconds)
Harbor Freight and Dremel do not belong in the same sentence.
It's all junk save your money
There has not been a single rotary bit from Harbor Freight that has lasted for even one job for me they're complete junk and I really don't recommend anybody waste any money on these unless you're in a very big pinch in which case make sure you buy at least five of the bit you're going to use
I've used this same set for over 7 months now. And used Dremel bits that lasted a lot less of time. This set is $20.00. So its not like you're blowing a lot of money.
@@scraplifetrashtocash4551 no clue how you're doing at man I'm lucky if they'll last me a single session
