In this video I demonstrate how to use the Step Sequencer in Logic Pro to make drum beats! I also demonstrate how to use the browser and how to download additional sound library packs. Apple Pencil not required to use the Step Sequencer. Enjoy! Thanks for the video, Josh! Glad to know that the Step Sequencer has finally been let loose in all of its glory, and free from the constraints that still exists on the iOS version of GarageBand. I'm really looking forward to giving it a play; looks to me like it's way more fun and creative, in a touch environment. I look forward to more Logic for iPad videos. Would love to see some on Live Loops with touch.
I wanna ask a issue in logic about audio import. Some audio files are automatically sync tempo on drag drop or audio import even if I don’t want to follow tempo. And when I turned off flex & follow off the audio file sounds very scratched poor. Whats the solution for it please reply 🙏
What are the main advantages Logic Pro on iPad has over GarageBand. I’ve invested so much time in GarageBand already, but really want to know what killer features are available for me to switch over to the subscription model for Logic.
Some, but not all, unfortunately. Hopefully they add those in future updates. Everything is touch optimized, so the keyboard shortcuts are definitely pretty scaled back. The keyboard is not a requirement. Unfortunately the CMD+R shortcut does not work. But others like C for cycle mode, R for record do work. If you press and hold the Command button it will give a list of the shortcuts available, albeit few.
Will you take a break from the Ultimate Logic Guide to make videos on the iPad version? I understand that you would. Just asking when we can expect a continuation of that series :)
Not a long break. I'll probably do one UGLP video later this week, and then continue as normal next week. I'm mainly just going to chop up the 1 hour iPad video into some smaller tutorials, and do tuts for Beat Breaker and Sample Alchemy.
Hi anyone know where the Sampler device is in Logic Pro ios like the one in Garageband where you record your voice then play it up and down the keyboard immediately?
Create a new MIDI track. Click on the plugin tiles button at the bottom-center. Tap and hold on the existing instrument (usually E-Piano), and remove it. Then tap on the "+ Instrument" option and go to the "Sampler" category. There you'll find Quick Sampler and Sample Alchemy, which can both be used inside of LP for iPad.
@MusicTechHelpGuy Hi sorry I meant to record a vocal directly in. I mamaged to reckrd an audio vical then dragged it in but has hoped it was poss to do directly in sampler from audio like garageband.
@@DespairQuietlyPlease I just realized they removed the "record" button in Quick Sampler for the iPad version. Boo. I guess recording to an audio track and dragging in is the only option for now.
Doesn’t make sense why they removed the record function within quick sampler. I’m sure it’ll get added soon. This seems like a no brainer for the iPad.
I would consider this if i could buy it... but as a subscription no thx😢...your content is great!!! i sure hope the sub is not the future for logic pro on the mac!!!
A lot of the pro level DAWs are subscription. Logic for iPad is one of the absolute cheapest subscriptions out there. Frankly, I’m shocked that full sized Logic is not subscription.

I didn't understand how to use the step sequencer in Logic Pro for iPad, so this was very helpful.
Just the best tutorials on UA-cam!

Job well done!
Please do a video with the live looper.curious to see if I can use the looper for triggering loops live on stage like Ableton.
YAAAY!!!!!!!! Two days, two videos……………
Thank you
Could you do a video on the quick sampler please?
Love to see a tutorial on importing midi files. Tried to follow directions in manual for my Finale export to no avail…
How do you add swing to a pattern?
Hey man, did you ever end up making a video on Sample Alchemy?

Interesting. If you have an actual QWERTY type keyboard, do the desk top function shortcuts work within iPad Logic? Like command R to repeat etc?

@@MusicTechHelpGuy Thanks for the detailed answer man. Much appreciated.

Can you view your own samples in logic ?

No mention of the swing?

Nothing here that Roland Zenbeats can't do and has been available for a couple of years. Plus no subscription
subscription software is lame
