Great overview fams. Would love to do an iTX build one day when I'm sick of looking at my gorgeous RGB blinged out PC. Keep up the awesome work #RoadTo200K
Please slap on that one 7950x or 7900x and stress those VRMs to let us know if they will really overheat or not. This is serious considering that it should last at least next 2 generations of Ryzens. Awesome mobo that one, I'm considering getting one for myself but thinking about Asus ROG Strix one as well.
For $50 more in the UK you can get the ASUS Strix B650E-I board that has a gen 5 x16 slot and gen 5 storage x4 slot. MSI cut too many corners here the board should be under $200.
Its $110 more here in Canada unfortunately. I think this board is more directed towards gamers. A 4090 doesn't even show a difference between gen3 and gen4 right now and gen4 storage is far faster than a gaming pc really needs. Cheapest board I can find in b650e mini itx here is the asrock one. Asrock scares me nowadays tbh...
I have the the MPG B550I GAMING EDGE MAX WIFI board and I love it, so I was looking forward to this video because I may do a build with the 7900XTX if I can get one and a 7700x.
The big problem with not including better audio on ITX boards is that if I want audio out to my AVR, I would have to use a second HDMI cable for the audio since I have the single HDMI 2.1 on the GPU going direct to the TV since my AVR doesn't have HDMI 2.1, and getting one that does is more than cost prohibitive for most. Plus, I have no more open HDMI ports on my AVR. Not having TOSlink for surround sound on an ITX board is a deal breaker for me.
Would be a great option if it was priced right. In Canada it's only $15 cheaper than the b650e-i strix and loses to it in every way. There's not a lot of itx option for am5 tho.
Катенька, прекрасно) Слушая то что ты говоришь, словно каждый образ идеально совпадает с моим внутренним виденьем. Как если бы я сам это понял или открыл. Благодарю
Looking at the specs of the ITX boards from other manufacturers, i think this board is going to be the most affordable cuz lack of pcie 5 for either GPU or nvme slots.
Please stress test this m-ITX mtb with 7900x. Though, probably most people will pair this board with 7700x or 7600x. None the less it will be a great info.
Does this board have VRM coil whine? Had 4 different ASUS B650e ITX boards and all of them had coil whine during idle. Considering this or the Asrock ITX board.
same for me. Waiting for ITX MOBOS to land in UK and will see how good AMD GPUs are or I will by an older GPU. Just bought Jansbo VR3 , AMD Ryzen 7700X, 32gb DDR5, M2 drive, sfx power supply, etc. Do you think Arctic Freezer II 280 RGB will fit in this case? thats something that I'm thinking to get.
Can you help me out with my build? Will this motherboard work if I remove the fan heatsink for m.2 drive? I need more sata ports for my NAS so I would be putting a nvme to 4 port sata adapter. Which would mean I cannot use this cooler. I have the same question for Gigabyte B650I AORUS ULTRA Mini ITX as well. Thank you!
Can the tiny fan be disconnected or disabled? My drive is only PCIE 3 so doesn't get very hot, and mini fans like that tend to make a really irritating whine.
A number of reasons. A much smaller market for them means cost per unit is higher. Designing them is trickier. Less competition means they can charge more too.
I have seen reviews of this msi board claiming that certain board versions really crash the system and is unstable. I am not sure but I think board version 1.0 is really bad, 1.1 is ok and 1.2 has some problems but not as bad as 1.0... can anyone else verify this? I want to use this board really bad in a purple NR200p case but It is not a build for me so I can't afford to have problems and a unstable system. The pic of the board in the thumbnail is version 1.1
Fan seems kinda pointless. Just blows onto the m.2 but it attached to a huge chunk of aluminum that doesn't have direct contact with anything. Might as well have just left the fan out and had the m.2 be cooled by a thermal pad transferring heat to that big chunk of aluminum. Tiny fans suck.
@@GearSeekers i have asus board in meshlicious with power connectors right under 24pin connector which makes cable management easy also cables to reach without issues. IMO its the best place. but i might not know about all cases since i only have one itx case 🙂
Not in any ITX board I have had. And it's definitely nowhere near as many as you Nick. But they have always been around the 24 pin. Maybe it is because of the introduction of the USBC header, because that is where I have seen them. I think you can get little pin extension wires though. So probably not that big of a deal
MSI is stringing us along for a BIOS update with this board.. Too bad they are so slow with this.. are they waiting for a new stable and verified good AGESA BIOS or what? v100 takes forever to POST, V115 one USB port is not working and BSOD on memory context restore. Both BIOS struggle above native 4800MHz with 2-3min POST. AGESA is straight from da underground.. But MSI.. Please take this more serious, you are clearly selling unfinished garbage!
ooof, i've never understood why itx mobos with a SINGLE PCIe x16 and at most TWO m.2 slots have just 4-5 usb a ports like at least give an extra 4 usb 2.0 ports or something. Horrible connectivity imo.
DO NOT GET THIS BOARD! It has a known bios battey issue which results in it draining the battery and losing all Bios settings at random. I have had two boards with the same problem and a bios update does not seem to fix it as it is a hardware issue with its design. Avoid and get a higher quality board!
I read some threads about this and it’s because the box the motherboard came in is too small. The box pushes the cmos button on the side which ended up draining battery during shipment. I bought one recently and it seems to be fixed since there are now cutouts on cardboard box that prevents the buttons from being pushed. I’ll update this if I see anymore issues.
why would anyone buy a board like to use in a home theater box? you can use a toast machine to do that stuff or just use your smart tv. I dont think home theater custom builds are popular anymore since you can buy a mini pc to do that stuff which is significantly smaller than any itx build. just saying. nice overview, I like the board
This is a bad motherboard given the placement of the front panel is above the graphics slot. Why MSI? This makes it harder to get into those areas if you accidentally reversed the cables for the power switch and you've added a graphics card in there. And it's nice to have the CMOS reset and Q-flash buttons but that doesn't excuse the very bad I/O out of this. 5 USB Type A is a little lean for what is about $250 USD or $400 AUD where I'm from. Should be a little cheaper at least $350 AUD or $230 USD.
This board is buggy as hell. I thought that maybe I was unlucky but the forums are full of people with severe issues with this board. I do not recommend it.
Nice board this would definitely look nice in an all white NR200 build. Thanks for review!
Great overview fams. Would love to do an iTX build one day when I'm sick of looking at my gorgeous RGB blinged out PC. Keep up the awesome work #RoadTo200K
I was literally looking at this ITX board last night and was thinking...I feel Nick and Klaire are going to be reviewing this one haha
"These videos are not reviews"
I was over viewing this on new egg 20 minutes ago haha
That music over those cinematic tings was *chef’s kiss*
i just got this board delivered yesterday! feels good
Which case u gonna use for it?
Which cooler you going with ?
I put it in a ssupd meshlicious with a lian li galahad 240 and 7600x! works pretty good so far!
really hope they come out with other am5 itx boards. i wanna upgrade my 5700g to a 7700x inside a fractal design ridge case
Banger of a motherboard overview fams, keep up the hard work

Exactly why I'm picking up the Asus board instead
That’s not a bad deal, but in Australia there is a $200 price difference between this and the next cheapest asus board
UK too, about 60£ now (80 USD)
Asus b650i et le super coil wine 🤢
Great, please make that build with it 😍🤩 Hope there will be more affordable B650E-MiniITX-Boards to be future proof...

Good point, I use a AVR for my sound as well, luckily Denon x4700h has 1 HDMI 2.1 port I can use.
OMG YES!! Finally! This damn motherboard is so hard to find/buy & couldn't find any reviews on it at all, thanks lad.
I was thinking to buy that motherboard if I upgraded to ryzen 7 7800x3d, but I choose to upgrade to i5 13600k instead and bought the MSI mpg z790i.
Mine is coming tomorrow - looking forwardt to building the new system!
Which cooler you went with ?
Can't wait to see what you put it in
Now this is more my speed
ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming WIFI in my opinion best board of b series, even better than many x670 boards
Added to my cart now. Thank you for the video. This helped me make my purchase decision.

Yes, please more SFF builds and particularly how to get the most efficiency out of them.

can you recommend a good bios version? stable one
Does this board have VRM coil whine?
Had 4 different ASUS B650e ITX boards and all of them had coil whine during idle.
Considering this or the Asrock ITX board.
Did you get this board in the end?
Yes, please do all of them! I'm in the market right now for an AM5 motherboard and I'm clueless what to buy. : (
same for me. Waiting for ITX MOBOS to land in UK and will see how good AMD GPUs are or I will by an older GPU. Going to be honest this board now having a fan makes no sense almost want to figure out how to replace it to keep the scheme matching.
Wait, they put the power/reset & activity light pins over next to the HD audio? I don't know if I have ever seen them over there.
Simply outstanding music, as usual!! Thanks Nick!

The board is sold 270€ where I live, it’s crazy
How is connecting the front panel IO when you have a GPU? Seems, really dumb to put it there and like cable management will be difficult
ITX ROCKS!
Pleas do a build of this board + RDNA3 on fractal ridge for the one of the best setups in the living room
Can the tiny fan be disconnected or disabled? My drive is only PCIE 3 so doesn't get very hot, and mini fans like that tend to make a really irritating whine.
Dont see a way to turn off ssd fan. However, dont notice much noise from this fan.
Will the aio in the NR200p Max fit on this board with the am4 mount ?¿
Thinking about this too
Peut on régler la taille vram pour la partie vidéo,? car sur la asrock pG b650e i on ne peut pas.
Does the usb type c port at the back support display output?
12v 4 pin right ? for fans
No 5.0 m.2? Well this is a first. I thought it was mandatory for at least one 5.0 drive.
Such a beauty
i really would like if they put back on the temp sensor header(s)
Where did you even get this board? I've been watching the UK sellers delay the release day month after month now. One says into January now
MSI sent it to us
Ha.. yeah, guess that makes sense. I've been waiting to give them my money since the B650 motherboard leaks
🤔 Great... it's missing the Digital Optical Audio connector!!! 😭
hi, wich one you prefer? theses one or the aorus one?
I will hook my mini itx pc to tv or certain soundbar , so optical out is a must.for me
What are MSI smoking with the placement of front panel header 😅
Finally 😀a review
Please review z790i MPG
I bought an expensive X570 itx board with active cooling on the chipset ... never again. Passive cooling or bust.
great video, why do itx motherboards cost so much more than atx
A number of reasons. A much smaller market for them means cost per unit is higher. Designing them is trickier. Less competition means they can charge more too.
I'm dying to see a AM5 ITX paired with the &9503DX CPUs, it will be my next upgrade.
Then you should do some searching because there’s plenty of builds on UA-cam of that spec

If they could do an X3D APU with enough actual gpu cores to game. Say, at non gimped RX 6400 levels. I'd be happy to buy one.
So why a x3D CPU? The GPU cores will be the limiting factor anyway. There would be no difference to a non x3D Cpu
well, I look at the cheapest itx am5 mobo and here this channel is again. I'd sub again but 😁
particular issue with this motherboard, is its stock, can barely find one in the asian market...
I am looking forward to this mb and r5 7600x3d for fps gaming
Is this compatible with the water cooler from the NZXT H1 V2?
Yes, it is competible.
Put a 7950x in that with a L12s into the Fractal Ridge
fractal ridge can hold a 70mm cooler. you want to pair that with a 7950x?
@@supreme5998 yea. It will go to 90 and it will be a ok
MSI’s website says this board supports up to 96GB DDR5, not 64. Curious…
This video came out when the board came out. It didn't support that when the board came out.
The Good: it's cheaper than competitors, The Bad: PCIe x16 4.0
There’s no difference in pcie 3 to 4… lmao do some research. There’s no pcie gen 5 cards either. It’s just a gimmick

Finally a somewhat affordable ITX motherboard for 7000 series.
case power connectors are at really odd place, in cases like meshlicious the cables wont reach pretty stupid to put them that far.
Pretty standard placement for ITX board

This is literally the b550 version with ddr5. No gen 5 x4 or x16.
Lacking IO, active cooling 🤢 230usd lol.... Ryzen 7000 needs a more substantial price cut.
$100 is the right price for this board
I don't see why this board is better then the AORUS one. I mean that board got 3 m.2 slot.
CPU cooler compatibility, this board is the safest for that
