    Rare Specimens: Visitors can find rare and endangered species of cacti and succulents here, including the unique and massive "Golden Barrel" cactus.
    Ancient Cacti: Some of the cacti in the garden are over a century old, adding to the historical significance of the collection.
    Thematic Zones: The garden is divided into various thematic zones, including the Australian Desert Garden, Old World Desert Garden, and New World Desert Garden, each representing different arid regions of the world.
    Conservation Efforts: The Desert Garden actively participates in conservation efforts, propagating and preserving rare and endangered desert plant species.
    Research and Education: The Huntington's Desert Garden plays a vital role in research and education, helping scientists and horticulturalists study and learn more about arid-adapted plants.

    While the desert garden is ideal in such an arid place as the Southwest of the USA, the entire Huntington Estate contains multiple amazing gardens. To me the estate is one of the finest things to see in SoCal. Many specimens of all types are close to 100 years old. So you get to view beautiful mature plant life. The gardens are meticulously maintained. There is a research library. If I lived there I would go very often and those who do are lucky to have it.

    Was für ein Kaktusgarten! Fast bin ich neidisch, aber einige davon gedeihen sogar bei uns in der Eifel!

    • @rafaelrieck6655
      @rafaelrieck6655 5 місяців тому

      The Eifel is in the western part of Germany. The most famous place is the formula one racing course Nürburgring. Nearby is Luxembourg and Belgium. I have some of these cacti in my garden.@@WanderpaW

      When it happens: Please inform us. We would show you that part of Germany. But don´t forget: In the Eifelmountains are some sleeping volcanos. They will erupt in the next 2000 years! And you have to know: I´m 80 now, please take your time!@@WanderpaW

      Hi @AngelaAndrea-dd4fg - Thank you for the insightful feedback. Hoping to achieve a balance of engaging content and length of the video. Definitely have more footage - still figuring out how to generate productions without making the final cut seem too long - unengaging.

    It really looks fabulous but you need to get someone and a curator to give a professional tour.. Try Summer Rayes Oaks. UA-cam channel of Plant one on me. I love her tours of personal and professional gardens. I bet she would be on that in a heartbeat.

    • @WanderpaW

      @srshufelt - Thanks for the valuable input. We would love to have @SummerRayneOaks do a voiceover of a WanderpaW Botanical Garden walking tour or a collaboration. We also like @Plant one on me channel. That'd be awesome just do not know how to make that happen. Unless you have contact with her.
