- Skagos is a Cascadian Black Metal band from British Columbia, Canada. The song comes from their album Ást. This is the full song including the campfire sounds at the end.
7:54 “oh, The weight of it!” - cmon man. That’s got to be one of the best few seconds of North American black metal. The delivery. The crescendo. I still come back to Ast after so many years
We need more Cascadian Black Metal bands :D (they should do a documentary on it)
I love the internet. I read the part of A Feast For Crows where they explain the history of the Skagosi and I thought "I wonder if there's a band named after that" and here I am.
Joey Hockin and here i am immediately after watching the s5 finale, just thought of this song...
It's from the end of the book Against His-History, Against Leviathan!
one of my favorite Skagos songs and i love that book! have you read Woman and Nature by Susan Griffin or Coming Home to the Pleistocene by Paul Shepard? i love those books as well. changed my life, really.
novemthree and the River from Oregon. Other Neofolk from the Pacific Northwest region. Also while Post-Rock, A Silver Mt. Zion might work.
Ást is stunning-this track particularly-, but the split with PANOPTICON is probably my preferred choice.
Just letting y'all know he is also in Ekstasis, which is Folk, with Johny from Fauna and others.
thank you.
Sadly it's sold out right now, but on their bigcartel they said their is gonna be a repress after Anarchic is out. And since Anarchic is already out, hopefully it will be fairly soon.
@Dimdez Someone was going to, but they never got the money. I don't think anyone from Cascadian Black Metal bands wanted anything to do with the documentary anyway.
Una canción para curar el alma.
favoris !!!
coming home to the pleistocene is fucking amazing.
To be honest I have not read Against His-History, Against Leviathan! even. However I knew that the song title came from the book.
Check out Moss of Moonlight. You might like 'em.
Try Of The Wand & The Moon
well, if you're interested, i highly recommend it.
the song is good and is not my intention to be a troll; but wouldn't be easier just to call the song "a night like any other"
hahaha.. agreed.
very 'simple' hahaha
no, because some nights end after an eclipse so there you go.
Hahahaha
You don’t quite get poetry , do you ? :)
love this song! yes black metal always underrated!!! and crap music makes money
I can't find a damned CD anywhere
Are these guys anprims?
does anyone know where i can get a tab for this ?
ageofruin13 I tried to hear what they play in acoustic part of this song and got something like Em D C Hm C Em D and so on. I might be wrong, but it's sounds good for me.
Yes. Em D C Bm
For the tabs, something like this (EADGBe)

Check out i AM esper. Fucking best blackgaze/ambient stuff I've heard in awhile.
Is there any music that sound like skagos without the black metal influence? Don't get me wrong, I love this band and buy their stuff, but I wanna know if there's anothing with the softer side of skagos. Perhaps some sort of folk?
Check out Panopticon they have an entire album that is all Americana, Folk, and Bluegrass inspired music
Mono(Japan)..
Opeth..
