Here are my rough calculations of the average length of duels in the Paleozoic Ladder Climb. Paleozoics had 118 duels on-stream. Of those: 8 duels were under 2 minutes in length. 9 duels at 2 and 5 minutes. 34 duels at 6-10 minutes. 25 duels at 11-15 minutes. 21 duels at 16-20 minutes. 12 duels at 21-25 minutes. 4 duels at 26-30 minutes. 4 duels at 31-40 minutes. And 1 duel that went over 40 minutes. The longest Paleozoic duel went for over 42 minutes. Using the average of those ranges, the average Paleozoic duel was 13.3 minutes in length. The average stream length of the first 5 Paleozoic streams was 5 hours 2 minutes and 4 seconds. With the 10 hour 6th stream, the average stream length goes up to 5 hours 58 minutes and 7 seconds. For comparison, Gold Pride had 117 on-stream duels. Of those: 8 duels were under 2 minutes in length. 31 duels at 2 and 5 minutes. 46 duels at 6-10 minutes. 23 duels at 11-15 minutes. 7 duels at 16-20 minutes. 1 duels at 21-25 minutes. 1 duels at 26-30 minutes. The longest Gold Pride duel went for over 28 minutes. Using the average of the ranges, the average Gold Pride duel was 8.2 minutes in length. The average stream length of Gold Pride was 4 hours 39 minutes and 59 seconds. And for a second comparison because I also could go back and look through the Memento footage I have, Memento also had 117 on-stream duels. Of those: 19 duels were under 2 minutes in length. 24 duels at 2 and 5 minutes. 39 duels at 6-10 minutes. 20 duels at 11-15 minutes. 11 duels at 16-20 minutes. 2 duels at 21-25 minutes. 1 duels at 26-30 minutes. The longest Memento duel was also over 28 minutes. Using the average ranges once again, the average Memento duel was 8.09 minutes in length. The average stream length of Memento was 4 hours 27 minutes and 32 seconds.

Now I was able to follow the world championship without too much trouble and I can follow along a lot easier on your ladder climb videos. I just wanted to thank you hardleg because you truly are one of the best teachers this entire community has, you make sure your viewers aren't lost on weird interactions like rise to full height or why you are making certain plays in advance. Its helped me a ton to get this far.
I didn't realise until most of the way through, but this deck runs like no hand traps. No ass blassum, no bug no called by. It's just so quirky and its internal engine is somehow strong enough to work without them. Actually feel very appropriate. using ancient creatures to drag your opponent back to a time before handtrap spam.
The mirror match was glorious and a thing of beauty! I've seen some people hating on paleo but to me this level of back and forth is 100x more fun than the usual combo/negate games that essentially end on turn 0.
Agreed. The mirror might be a pain, but to me it embodies the back and forth of classic Yugioh - the thing that made most of us fall in love with this game in the first place. Would rather play against Paleo any day compared to modern negate-slop strategies.
Yeah, I like playing grindy decks and had some great games using Ninja, Sky Striker and Paleos themselves against the things. You can basically chill and have a relaxing time while trying to pick each other's boards apart, if that makes sense.
Control Vs Control deck usually always more difficult than normal duel, but it always fun. The control mirror is maybe the peak, because both of you know how to play and beat the deck. And your action sometimes give opponent an advantages too.
I’m so happy when you upload these ladder climbs , the last six months have been hell for me and your videos make me forget most of my troubles for a couple of hours , thank you
This month's streams total to over 35 hours thanks to that 10 hour stream on day 6 and the regular extra hour on most of the other streams. I did my best.
It's always nice when Joe gets to play a deck he enjoys. The videos are so much more entertaining when he's having fun. But how we got no "They lack critical information" in this particular episode I'll never know. Grats on piloting the bugs without The Bug to M1. Especially in the mirror. This was kinda perfect for what I personally wanna see out of a ladder climb, it's not "trendy" deck that just came out or got big support recently, but Joe can still make it work and have fun with it.

Finally finished the whole thing. This was a damn fun climb and it's just so nice to see games where it isn't just a bunch of negates. Reasoning is always fun to see. Rollback is such a fun card. If I wasn't so opposed to spending money on ygo in general I would've gotten this deck in MD (not irl cause exchange rates suck and there aren't many irl places/people that play ygo here). My fave ladder climbs are Generaider, Paleo, Ninja, Volcanic, Scareclaw in that order. I swear this isn't recency bias, you've just gotten way better at the game, with your showmanship, and your edits (thanks Mr Nova) compared to let's say the Ojama climb.
This is still one of my favorite deck that you have played. So much trickiness that Paleozoic can pull off while also remaining fairly true to its trap theme. The trap focus is what gives it its charm! :)
Duel 113 was honestly my favorite of the video. I didn’t feel anywhere near this much excitement from the days of full power Tear mirror, but this mirror was amazing!
I just stumbled across this channel today, words are hard for me, but I wanted to say how much I admire you for taking something often viewed as making you "lesser" then others, and basing your entire branding around it. I dunno, it just makes my brain do the happy juices when I see people who could be moping around about physical or mental disabilities say "fuck that!" and keep doing what they love. I just hope I got the positivity I wanted to across.
Not feeling too great, drifting in and out of sleep and I notice my favourite series on UA-cam has a new instalment. I'll rewatch it to properly appreciate everything later, just glad I got good company atm. Yknow when you're so sick you feel sappy? Me rn
I wonder how many of your viewers even saw the Sifl and Ollie Show. Good to know im not the only one who randomly gets that stuck in my head from time to time. And shoutout to the editor, you are doing some great work, i like your style.
I love Paleos. Can't wait to see how you build 'em. Great intro! Also cool seeing Mr Nova edit. Damn I completely forgot about Morganite! What an inspired choice!
I started playing paleo not long ago and its so much fun. The back and forth match's, the grind game and the length of gamesl make it feel like yu gi oh did back when i first started playing. Loved this ladder climb.
Wish the deck wasn’t so expensive in Master Duel, but I agree. There are so many fun things you can do with it, and I’ve always had a thing for trap based control decks.
I love Paleo. Decks nowadays wanna bring out their boss monsters immediately. Paleo draws a line in the sand and does not give any ground. It's also very cheap, which is always a plus.
Man am I so happy to see Paleozoic do so well. I have a fondness for decks that play on a different axis and can put up one heck of a grind game, and seeing Transaction Rollback breathing new life into Paleo so well and allowing them to use such fun tech cards made this ladder climb very enjoyable to watch.
Im new here and kind of new to master duel, i mean i played yugioh when i was a kid, but I was a kid who didnt understand yugioh... I've watched some videos and realized i was so disrespectful for not being subscribed. Some of these decks definitely teach you some things.
Another month, another ladder climb video that convinces me to build a deck I've never played... Dammit Hardleg, my gems can't take this! In all seriousness though, what a great video! Surprising how intense a deck that starts with set 5 pass can get!
Man paleos are so fun, i even play them ocasionally on duel links and it is very fun even without a really busted skill to accompany, i would love to play irl if rollback + some other traps werent a bit pricey. Congrats for getting there with them Joe.
A fun fact, you mentioned att the start you can keep halving your LP until you hit 1, as a Dinomorphia player (Please stop booing) I can confirm that you can keep triggering those effects even after getting to 1 LP, you just just pay nothing :) Really enjoyed this climb, shame you seem to not like Voiceless Voice, I was hoping to see that in a future climb!
Joe actually pulled a crazy amount of VV cards randomly for the ghoti preparations so if you voice yourself as a patreon and stand your case to play VV your chances may not be that bad :) he didn't enjoy facing vv with paleos because they kinda hard counter them.
This is the best master climb ever in your series Joe, I will be surprised if you will top this. Also I kindly suggestion you can keep the car opening as it's interesting for some of us and the rest can skip it if they don't want to see it.
I like that this deck doesn't need handtraps, omninegates, floodgates, or the need to combo for 10 minutes, just set 5 and patiently control the duel. The keyword is patience, I have played against a few Paleo decks lately and most of these players were not capable of waiting until the best moments to activate rollback.
Just a comment to boost the algorithm because joe deserves more subs. Love ya buddy. You help make yugioh an enjoyable game for me and I appreciate that more than you know ❤
This is easily the best Yugi-content (or at least MD) on YT, not even close, especially considering replay-value and timelessness. Thanks for the great entertainment. I kinda get, why you excluded the pack openings, but I personally (and quite a few others) would prefer if you kept them in the episode. Maybe it's just the vicarious gambling, but it still gets me, especially the ones in between the episodes serve as a neat little break from the duels and just round things out a bit. Will be watching anyway, but those are just my two cents.
Hardleg, I have a funny trap that I use whenever I'm in the lower ranks, maybe you can find some use from it: memory loss. If an attack position monster uses its effect, negate the effect and force it into defense position. I doubt this would be of much use in higher ranks, but maybe in the lower parts, it can control some of the unga bonga with effects. Like Kash, when the Kash player goes for all-out offense.
It's a decent tech, but there's better effect negation tools out there. Infinite Impermanance is probably the one with the most utility, but there's also cards like Breakthrough Skill, Titanocider, and Lost Wind if you want lower rarity options.

I dunno, it just makes my brain do the happy juices when I see people who could be moping around about physical or mental disabilities say "fuck that!" and keep doing what they love.
I just hope I got the positivity I wanted to across.
This was the best climb so far. It was funny watching all your streams brother.
so much effort on these videos hope you take it easy from time to time Hardleg
Not feeling too great, drifting in and out of sleep and I notice my favourite series on UA-cam has a new instalment. I'll rewatch it to properly appreciate everything later, just glad I got good company atm. Yknow when you're so sick you feel sappy? Me rn
I wonder how many of your viewers even saw the Sifl and Ollie Show. Good to know im not the only one who randomly gets that stuck in my head from time to time.
And shoutout to the editor, you are doing some great work, i like your style.
Thanks.
I love Paleos. Can't wait to see how you build 'em. Great intro! Also cool seeing Mr Nova edit.
Damn I completely forgot about Morganite! What an inspired choice!
Thank you.
45:58 I was not expecting a reference to the Sifl and Olly show, but if any yugituber is gonna be crescent fresh I am not surprised it was Joe
That intro was on point, somehow these keep getting better!
I started playing paleo not long ago and its so much fun. The back and forth match's, the grind game and the length of gamesl make it feel like yu gi oh did back when i first started playing. Loved this ladder climb.
this is by far the biggest ladder climb you've done. Congrats!!!
i absolutly love this man!
always a joy to see anything he does!
Paleozoics are one of my favorite archetypes
You made me a paleozic believer. I never gave the deck a chance before this and I can't help, but feel like I missed out so hard.
I think I i speak for everyone when i say, the best climbs are those where you also have a lot of fun with the deck :D
Im new here and kind of new to master duel, i mean i played yugioh when i was a kid, but I was a kid who didnt understand yugioh... I've watched some videos and realized i was so disrespectful for not being subscribed. Some of these decks definitely teach you some things.
Shoutout to the editor who is doing meme archeology with this edit :3
I'm old in internet years. I don't keep up with slang and trends of kids these days.
The editor is an absolute legend. Hilarious stuff!
Thank you.
Loved watching you have fun with Paleozoics. I still love my PaleojamaABC version
Thank you for another awesome and entertaining video mr hardleg. Always makes my day a little better watching you.
This was one of the funnest ladder climbs I've ever watched.

He hit the Low Tier God
"You should scoop... NOW" *Lightning bolt*
I'm glade I found this channel again I need to start watching this again or playing the game more
0:01 Loved this intro!
Flame Cerberus my beloved. Been a long time since I saw that card. Surprised I still remember the name
The sp and the changxing getting banished when they couldn't go to sleep was so funny
Highlight was about 2 hrs 39 in “they let the reasoning go through” followed by “22 mills later” with Patrick’s scream, comedy gold😂
That was a good bit.
This whole video was so good Amazing Content . Legendary Deck you continue to put in awesome content.
THE BEST DECK IM GLAD I FOUND OUT ABOUT YOUR CHANNEL FROM THE HEART OF THE CAST PODCAST🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥
Best.... Climb... Ever... Awesome video as always hardleg. Thx for all the entertainment.
Another month, another ladder climb video that convinces me to build a deck I've never played... Dammit Hardleg, my gems can't take this!
In all seriousness though, what a great video! Surprising how intense a deck that starts with set 5 pass can get!
The extra effort on the editing for the mirror match really took it up a notch
Check out Shady Cicada's music. That song really brought that duel together and they do a lot of great instrumental rock songs.
Absolutely love this 😂 never laughed as much, I’ve been playing Predaplant and Memento but I’m thinking of now using a Paleozoic deck 😂
Dinomorphia gang!
Joe actually pulled a crazy amount of VV cards randomly for the ghoti preparations so if you voice yourself as a patreon and stand your case to play VV your chances may not be that bad :) he didn't enjoy facing vv with paleos because they kinda hard counter them.
Reasoning is the iconic yugioh moment, but without monsters until the end.
"Draw! Trap Cardo! Draw! Trap Cardo! Draw! Trap Cardo!"
Its very very scary how good this deck is along with the ladder climb always entertaining ^_^
Paleo is such a nice Deck :)
And the Editor did great!
Thank you.
I was there live, Duel 113 was peak.
Also, great summary of the appeal of Paleo!
I'm not usually there for the streams due to work or D&D but I was fortunate that day to watch that duel live and knew I had to go all out on it.
That duel for sure was peak yugioh
The mirror match was surprisingly fun to watch.
A+ editing, really added to fun!
Thank you!
Amazing video! Keep it up!
This is the best master climb ever in your series Joe, I will be surprised if you will top this. Also I kindly suggestion you can keep the car opening as it's interesting for some of us and the rest can skip it if they don't want to see it.
the editing on duel 113 was truly something to behold
Thank you!
Dear editor, i just want to let you know you're doing god's work
Simply divine.
Deck look super fun to play! I just about watched the entire video
This is the content I love this is the content I wake up for
Let's goooo might be able to play most of these in tcg now tbh with grass getting released to 1
Grass coming back is extremely based, but unfortunately Reasoning is only at one in the TCG, and Spright Elf is banned.
You single handedly made me want to play Paleo
You're welcome :)
This was another one of the best decks to watch play
0:54:18 I actually enjoyed this ladder climbing show
I like that this deck doesn't need handtraps, omninegates, floodgates, or the need to combo for 10 minutes, just set 5 and patiently control the duel. The keyword is patience, I have played against a few Paleo decks lately and most of these players were not capable of waiting until the best moments to activate rollback.
Just a comment to boost the algorithm because joe deserves more subs. Love ya buddy. You help make yugioh an enjoyable game for me and I appreciate that more than you know ❤
boosting the comment that's boosting the video in the algorithm
I played Paleozoic awhile ago, loved it with the Aquaactress deck tbh
This is easily the best Yugi-content (or at least MD) on YT, not even close, especially considering replay-value and timelessness. Thanks for the great entertainment. I kinda get, why you excluded the pack openings, but I personally (and quite a few others) would prefer if you kept them in the episode. Maybe it's just the vicarious gambling, but it still gets me, especially the ones in between the episodes serve as a neat little break from the duels and just round things out a bit. Will be watching anyway, but those are just my two cents.
The most chill Ladder Climb ever
I do not play yugioh need more, but your are so entertain, you keep me cameing back, to see you.😃
Hardleg, I have a funny trap that I use whenever I'm in the lower ranks, maybe you can find some use from it: memory loss.
That Intro was powerful~
