I finally got to re-recording this game and it's now in 480p60fps and in normal 4:3 aspect ratio. The previous upload looked pretty ugly compared to this one.. It's also 2 minutes faster for all that matters. I felt like my gameplay was better in the previous recording, but total time shows it wasn't that much different. I did make more mistakes than I thought I would though and a lot is to blame on controls and camera. The jump button seems to cancel out very quickly when your character stops touching ground and on vertically moving platforms, the jump button also cancels out the moment the platform is going in a downmotion. Therefore you can't really jump at peak height of the platform and should actually time your jump half a second sooner. The camera is also really annoying and likes to dance around you sometimes which will put your controls completely off track. It's a sonic game so you wanna go fast, but sometimes you gotta slow down for a second. A few cuts were made, especially in the Rogue space mission because the gems were scattered on the most annoying locations and the menu didn't start beeping unless I was really close. Unfortunately a lot of these stages have upgrade pickups (such as being able to destroy the steel boxes) and the game autosaves when you get these.. so I can't just restart the stage and do the recording over, as the pickup won't be there anymore. This is primarily the reason why some cuts in some stages had to be made. I made sure to do the cuts as professionally as possible so even though they are noticeable, they shouldn't be annoying. Now that the things that I felt unhappy about are out of the way.. let's focus on the good stuff. This longplay features both hero, dark and the final mode. What I also added in this longplay, as opposed to the previous video, is the Green Hills bonus stage (!!) and a very short clip of the Chao world. The Green Hills bonus stage is unlocked after getting ALL EMBLEMS and getting Rank A on ALL STAGES. That's VERY DIFFICULT. Don't compare it to all stars in a Mario game. This is way worse. However, we strive to show all of the things a game has to offer and not showing the Green Hills stage in the previous upload is what always bothered me and something I wanted to fix. I also showed the Chao world but really not much to it.. I didn't have the heaven and dark world unlocked so I couldn't show them, nor did I have many Chao's to show. Ofcourse there's Karate and Race matches you can do in the Chao World and I could've showed all of these, but that would've been over an hour of extra footage and it just doesn't seem very related to the main game. Maybe some day the Chao World deserves a longplay of it's own, lol (we did a longplay on Animal Crossing too so heck why not). Anyway, my main concern was to re-record it in better quality with the same gameplay or better and ofcourse including the Green Hills stage. That's what I did :)
I'm a Sonic fan since the days of Mega Drive and Master System, played all games and love them all, but I have a special place in my heart for Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, the dreamcast days were soooooo good.
Nope, I replay this the other day and all I could think was that nostalgia is ruin things, this game is a poop, bad controls, camera, edgy story, but good music!

Fun Fact: Sonic Adventure 2 was supposed to be the last Sonic Game due to the Dreamcast being retired. Shadow was meant to be dead in end, but he came back fully in future games.

My brother got me into playing this game when I was only 3 years old and I remember I kept having to ask him for help when I couldn't figure out where to go so much that he would get irritated at me and turn off the game😂

Best story, best music, best characters, best boss fights, best levels, best mini- games like chao karate and chao race, this game is timeless, after putting in 200 hours I still can play this game from the beginning, its just too good for its own good!
Yeah they are the least favoured.. but at the same time, the game wouldn't be what it was without those stages. Many also don't know that if you talk to the computers, they'll give you hints on the emerald locations so the stages aren't all that bad. Except for the space missions where the computers just start lying to you and give you weird hints (combined with a stage that's just way too damn big)

I been noticing the first 2 sonic adventure games back in the day, but at the time I didn't pay no mind even the sonic heroes, sonic 06, or sonic unleashed.(except shadow the hedgehog game) cause I play it. But now after all those years, every since the first movie 2 years ago, the sonic games got my full attention why I regret missing the sonic games in the first place from on my ps2 with heroes, or the ps3 with sonic 06 and unleashed and should've fully have and played generations cause I played sonic generations before and I thought is part of sonic adventure series. But now, playing sonic colors ultimate and sonic mania more really bring the excitement of the sonic games even I missed out a lot but it not too late for the new and what's left of the old of the sonic games. Either way, it COOL and ALWAYS HAS BEEN. I underestimated for years.

I remember getting trays of energy drinks with one of my best friends and literally forcing fruit down the Chao's throats to raise their stamina till the sun came up. You're never gonna get all the racing and karate matches emblems unless you have a Chaos Chao though, and getting one is way too difficult to figure out as a young kid.

Not really. That credit goes for the original Sonic Adventure 2 for the SEGA Dreamcast. This version has some extra special features, I know. But in the end, it's just a port of a game that already existed
As a Sonic fan, it would be great if in the movie Sonic The Hedgehog 3, Sonic has the same tennis shoes as this classic game & they make almost the same reference to both Sonic Adventure by (Amy Rose) and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (Shadow The Hedgehog's story). You know what? Every time I close my eyes, I always imagine the treasure hunting levels of Knuckles and Rouge being played as the Lights On/Off game from Blue’s Clues. One turns off the lights while the other finds out which toy is put away.

Mario beat Sonic in the 2D days. Sonic on DC and later won in 3D. Sonic, etc. just translates better to 3D. There's just something about their characters' speed, athleticism, robotics, and the soundtrack...Metal Harbor and The Green Forest: my goodness!

You can't honestly count that period of time can you?! To think, Nintendo might actually show more bias towards Mario than Sonic. Mario was still making titles for it's own consoles. My opinion is--you can only go up to the DC/GC(ported over DC hits over to GC) to be fair.

@Fall In 3D, not 2D. What Sonic games in 2D beat Mario's 2D games? I've played Sonic and Knuckles* and that's not better than SMB3 or SMW. Some would argue not better than SMB2 as well, because it's the perfect sequel to SMB1 and it is super fun, too. SMB1 was a major hit, because it was a major leap forward over Atari's games. SMB1 was fun, but--by the end of the Sega/SNES 2D competition--this game was obsolete. Another game I liked was Lost Levels(did not play it until it came out on the SNES). Still, I loved the challenge and I beat that game as Luigi(best of the 2) but not Mario... *That has to be the best Sonic 2D game.

Would have liked this game more if it weren't for the way they screwed up Batface the Rouge's missions and that annoying " press jump once but count for twice" glitch, you know when you wanna jump off of the edge of a platform to get the most out of your jump only for sonic to perform a homing attack on the ground level or Tails to start hovering. Dunno if that was just on the gamecube or if it was also on the dreamcast.
I would put the Sonic Adventure duology (for the Dreamcast) on my list of “Top 10 Greatest Sonic the Hedgehog Games”, but if I could pick between the two Sonic games, then I’ll probably have to go with Sonic Adventure 1. They may have some noticeable flaws that made the games age (which is also what makes the game funny in a way), but they get around a 7 or 8 out of ten for me. Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the magnum opus of Sonic games (Sonic Jam for the Saturn, Sonic Advance 3, Sonic Triple Trouble and the Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing series come close because they are also in the top 5s), but what makes us like the Sonic Adventure duology as one of the better 3D Sonic games, like Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colours (especially the DS version), Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, Sonic Dash and Sonic Generations is its soundtrack that is rock, techno, rap and pop music around the birth of the new millennium, 128-bit graphics that fall into the category of “old is gold”, speedy stages of the hedgehogs and stories with a lot of depth and action!
I recommend the GameCube versions of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 because you transfer your Chao to Sonic Advance 1, 2, 3 and Sonic Pinball Party on your Game Boy Advance model of your choosing.
Agreed! Same goes for Xbox 360 ports because they are on Xbox One and Series. People are way too critical at the GameCube and XBLA ports because they are such graphics snobs.

Dreamcast: better graphics, lighting, and chao garden designs
GameCube: better gameplay, better multiplayer system, better chao system (+ chao karate), more accessible, and faster loading times.
And... The gamecube version has more details on the levels.

Some would argue not better than SMB2 as well, because it's the perfect sequel to SMB1 and it is super fun, too. SMB1 was a major hit, because it was a major leap forward over Atari's games. SMB1 was fun, but--by the end of the Sega/SNES 2D competition--this game was obsolete. Another game I liked was Lost Levels(did not play it until it came out on the SNES). Still, I loved the challenge and I beat that game as Luigi(best of the 2) but not Mario...

Would have liked this game more if it weren't for the way they screwed up Batface the Rouge's missions and that annoying " press jump once but count for twice" glitch, you know when you wanna jump off of the edge of a platform to get the most out of your jump only for sonic to perform a homing attack on the ground level or Tails to start hovering. Dunno if that was just on the gamecube or if it was also on the dreamcast.

There’s things to like about both versions but overall I’d say Adventure 2 is the winner for me.
I would put the Sonic Adventure duology (for the Dreamcast) on my list of “Top 10 Greatest Sonic the Hedgehog Games”, but if I could pick between the two Sonic games, then I’ll probably have to go with Sonic Adventure 1. They may have some noticeable flaws that made the games age (which is also what makes the game funny in a way), but they get around a 7 or 8 out of ten for me. Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the magnum opus of Sonic games (Sonic Jam for the Saturn, Sonic Advance 3, Sonic Triple Trouble and the Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing series come close because they are also in the top 5s), but what makes us like the Sonic Adventure duology as one of the better 3D Sonic games, like Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colours (especially the DS version), Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, Sonic Dash and Sonic Generations is its soundtrack that is rock, techno, rap and pop music around the birth of the new millennium, 128-bit graphics that fall into the category of “old is gold”, speedy stages of the hedgehogs and stories with a lot of depth and action!

I recommend the GameCube versions of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 because you transfer your Chao to Sonic Advance 1, 2, 3 and Sonic Pinball Party on your Game Boy Advance model of your choosing.
Agreed! Same goes for Xbox 360 ports because they are on Xbox One and Series. People are way too critical at the GameCube and XBLA ports because they are such graphics snobs.
