I'm not an artist by any means, but the Penguin Cover to Cover book sounds SO interesting!!! I will have to buy it to learn more about their design process. Also, I feel like Penguin has SO MANY various editions of classics that I don't even know about. I had to no ideas they had the threaded editions :)

Sounds like you said Mrs de Winter as in the novel by Susan Hill published in 1993. It is the sequel to the novel Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.

I grew up with the 'country diary of an Edwardian lady's. My grandma and my mum had copies and now i have my own copy. It's an inspiring book xx

Those Christmas bbooks have such pretty covers! I had seen them before, but I kind of forgot about them oops! I really loved this video
None of the covers on my books are pretty at all, except my penguin classics collection. (The black spine with the little white strip)

I always have mixed feelings when a youtuber gets a sponsor as it becomes all about plugging the sponsor and you don't know whether they genuinely like the things they are sent. Having said that I'm so happy for Carolyn to be able to make some money from her videos.
I feel the same way. I'm happy for their success, but I'm also disappointed because I no longer feel that I can trust their recommendations or that their excitement about a book is genuine. I also find the promotional parts of the videos intrusive -- I enjoy listening to bookish videos to relax, but having someone try to sell me something kills the atmosphere for me. :(
I found the ‘Edwardian Lady Diary’ in an amazing second hand bookshop in a lovely little country town a few weeks ago -it is beautiful. Love the books you had for your birthday, esp the Penguin book cover book - they are beautiful- will be amazing on your bookshelves. Have you read any books by Adriana Trigiani - she wrote a fabulous series about Big Stone Gap but also several other based on `Italy and American/Italian families- I thought of her books when you were talking about the Italian connections in the first book you pulled from the book of the month box.

BOTM blocked and silenced a Black bookstagrammer when asked about their lack of diversity in their boxes... they kept on posting and dodging everyone’s questions as well as never apologizing to her.. they’re not a company to support. SUPPORT AND BUY FROM YOUR LOCAL BOOKSTORES INSTEAD!
I was thinking of this too, but I just saw the booktuber Noelle (idk if you know her) she stopped buying of BOTM and said she would keep an eye on them to see if they changed. The thing is, I just saw a video of her and she's back with BOTM and talked about how she was seeing that the changes are being made. I honestly don't know much about this but I just wanted to know what do you think?
@@nadeshkaholmes9511 i just think people are going back to it because it’s cheap. but honestly, it doesn’t matter their “improving”.. they still silenced Black voices, doesn’t matter if their diversity in selections is changing now.. I think people should rather support indie bookstores, Black/Indigenous/Latinx the most. We saw BOTM real views and beliefs when they did that. That’s just my opinion.
