I feel like I just discovered something wonderful. I have been in and around the knifemaking/blacksmithing communities for 15+ years one of the things your learn taking classes is that just because someone is an incredible craftsperson and can make a living being the best in their field, that doesn't mean they can teach, and there is a good chance they are as terrible at teaching as they are good at their craft. In this 7 minute video you demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly and concisely beyond many an old gritty blacksmith, let alone someone your age. You have a clear gift. Keep working , practicing and developing it! Torbjorn Ahman is going to have some competition as my favorite youtube blacksmith/maker!
At 3:12 I thought he was trying to show us his hand. So even though in the next second he gave us a close-up of the piece, all I could think of was that gnarly old blister!
Nice cractmanship / technique with the twisting of the metal, definitely 3 nice key chains. Thanks

Thanks for the support! I'm always learning new things so it is fun to finally share what I've learned with a wider audience.

One option that might solve the problem of that small material cooling so fast, is to lock it in the vise cold, and use a torch for the heat.
Awesome video Dawson!
Thanks!
Where are you selling these?! They’re awesome!
So far I have just sold them at local craft fairs, but a website could be coming in the future.
