Damn, in 0:07 , the way Kaori fell but still made it fun is so symbolic. It symbolizes her character as a whole, Life made her slip and fall meaning life gave her a fatal disease but she still made those moments after the slip and fall fun just like what the scene showed
Also at 0:36, when the group is laying in the grass, Kaori and Kosei's hands are opened and looks as if they are reaching for each other's, symbolizing how they were in love but never could be together.
The intro is the entire plot. It literally begins with a dove that turns into Kaori, while the others comes from active music notes, and ends with the same dove flying to the heavens. The characters being front and center, while the love interest watches from the background. There isn’t a single frame in this intro that isn’t about the plot.
i get dark memories when i hear the opening. this anime is a literal masterpiece. the plot,the characters, its so wholesome but sad its a bitterly sweet anime that will make you rethink life this anime feels like real heart and soul went into it.

Two tears. I shed two tears because of this anime. It might not be too much for you, but I'm not used to actually crying that much, so for me, two tears is a lot. I started watching this on the beginning of April 2024. Now it is middle of June, almost 2AM. I have to get up at 5, but idc. This was an emotional rollercoaster and an absolute masterpiece. I'm really glad to be living in a time where such animes exist.
I'll agree for best intro but its 10000% the 2nd most sad anime. I don't know if you've heard of a little anime called Banana Fish but it's so much more sar without competition- if u want to watch something truly sad that'd be my top reccomendation- tho I do advise genuine caution.

Your Lie in April is not only one of the most beautiful anime, but one of the greatest masterpieces across all mediums. What makes a creation special is its ability to move (emotionally sound) people... and Your Lie in April can make one feel so many emotions so strongly, it's truly special.
I do it every april, I watch this anime to remember the "happiness,sadness,tears" that come with it I wish I can forget everything and watch it all over again this thing is full fledged MASTERPIECE.

Such a powerful OP. When I first saw it it made me happy. As I approached the end of the series, it made me sad and apprehensive because I began to fear for Kaori's death. And after I finished the series, it still made me sad but also happy, because, like Kousei, I choose to remember the good times with Kaori instead of the loss. What a journey, and it was all in the OP.
I love how much hope this opening gives as if this is just a wholesome slice of life anime it talks like rainy days will be over the sun will shine on us and with it our legacy

I can't listen to this song without crying .... For the longest time I was refusing to watch the show. I knew the ending and I knew that it was sad then eventually I gave in and watched it .... even though I very well knew what was gonna happen at the end it still hit me like a truck and now this song just brings tear to my eyes ..... powerful show, really. ♥
