Excellent interview. I always enjoy getting introduced to each of your guest you interview. Nate is such a wonderful interviewer. Nate White brings great gentle clarification to points that could be misconstrued. Sometimes the interviewee would make broad non-inclusive statements ( e.g. if you do not read music, then he included everyone else as an armature), but Nate wonderfully points that out so tactfully to the viewers that we all have a different journey to becoming a musician/ guitarist. Still was a very educational interview. Thank you Nate!!!!

Carl Verheyen is amazing in the vast array of guitar knowledge he has found that worked extremely well for him in being able to make a living as a guitarist. That is fantastic and has great advice to those on that same journey. It was great to have this legend on the show. Nate, thank you for pulling out points that helps all of us no matter where we are on our guitar journey. I have to quote this fantastic nugget that you shared towards the end of the interview, "what I found is learning to love the sound of my voice on the guitar, and then seeing myself in my best possible light in the future, even though I am not there yet, and that becomes motivation to keep practicing and keep going." This spoke volumes to me. I studied classical guitar seriously through my teenage years, and I love the sound of classical guitar, BUT I was missing out on the voices of guitar with other genres. I set the classical guitar down, no real investment in my early 20's. Now 64 I am taking the opportunity to find my voice on the guitar, beyond classical guitar. I am a little bit country and a little bit classic rock and roll, BUT a whole lot of my blues voice. I am having so much fun listening to great interviews like this, practicing and developing my guitar voice and feeling music in a way that I was in search of all my life, but just did not know where to go. Your nugget is worth repeating, "what I found is learning to love the sound of my voice on the guitar, and then seeing myself in my best possible light in the future, even though I am not there yet, and that becomes motivation to keep practicing and keep going." Thank you Nate!!

This was probably the most important - and the most moving - interview with a guitar player talking about playing the guitar that I have ever watched. That said, I am new to your channel and will start looking around in here to see who else you have coaxed this kind of wisdom from. Loved that observation that watching this stuff is not the same as actually practicing and getting my own chops together :)

A good place to start is Carl’s TruFire class on SWAT Blues! Right up front he teaches how to bend correctly/in-tune.
