It’s so funny that the defense gets worse every year after everyone says “well it can’t get any worse than THAT”

      @ltzJB 11 місяців тому

So this defense could possibly end the year as the worst defense in the country, so that might be true this year.

Great breakdown! Lots of teachable moments, freshman are freshman , the scheme is sound.

Re 45:15, the sequence of priorities among pilots is aviate navigate communicate. The meaning of this is don't ever focus on another priority at the expense of flying the plane.

So, if the execution is bad on GOOD schemes, is it the coaches job to change the scheme play to the strengths on the defense? What should Coach Ham run to hide linebacker weakness?

  • @Tolbert1906

Our defense should never be this bad.

Looks like freshmen mistakes. LSU have experienced guys looking worse. Our defense is historically bad. I don't think UF played a bad game defensively, only Bama and FSU have slowed this offense and JD6 had really solid numbers in both games. UF D will be much improved, LSU will suck on defense again next year AND lose key pieces of the offense.

@@barrettgranger9139 LSU has been horrible in the secondary ALL SEASON LONG. You know it's bad when the fans don't even expect the defense to stop anyone. We just hope they get it to 3rd down and their offense makes a mistake. Even then, it's not a guarantee. So many teams have converted on 4th against this defense. The offense has been simply out-scoring everybody. The offense has no room for error. Funny how you can go back and hear BK talk about how basically the offensive players needed to be elite, not good to win against Bama. He has no problem pointing out the offensive unit mistakes, even though they rarely perform bad. I'm still waiting on him to talk about this horrible as defense. He always finds words to gloss over how bad they are. LSU would be in the SECCG with a CFB playoff spot on the line with even a MEDIOCRE defense.

@@ellis1975 I wasn’t trying to make excuses at all , sorry it seemed that way , it’s pisses me off bc LSU should NEVER have a defense this bad and if Matt House isn’t fired after the A&M game I say we riot 😂😂😂 I was trying to give alittle context but I’m glad these young dudes are getting real game experience bc that will help them next the bowl game and next season

Hearing a lot of scheme is correct but the execution fails. A lot of Florida fans really need to start noticing this.

Why on a wheel route or when the cb’s get picked, they don’t call switch like in basketball? It would be in my mind very easy to keep coverage if they did that? They know they are getting picked in that moment and both cbs try to recover their original cover instead of just swapping. Plus they are right next to each other in that moment so not sure they it would be a volume thing.

Coach Ham better get these mobile QB problems fixed. Because I guarantee you, just as Im sitting here typing this, Mikey will have plays drawn up for Jordan Travis , to have a repat result against our D. To help Travis with his "Heisman" hopes and to just embarrass us.....again. 3 and 8 are good for at least one huge pass gainer a piece every single game. Or a PI call down field for a big gainer.

Our tackling (or lackthereof) is just flat depressing. No other way to put it.
I can't remember a time in my lifetime where I looked at a UF defense and didn't see one DUDE. I don't think we have a single DUDE on this defense. No scary, indimidating individuals who want to take your hat off.
Just a bunch of soft kids. It's absolutely demoralizing to witness week in and week out.

damn. a lot more defense of the DC than i expected. you blame freshmen a lot.. but the DC knows he's playing freshmen. should have been playing a lot more cover 3 / cover 4, keeping the ball in front with eyes back at the running qb. especially if you know scoobs is a liability

If you don’t have the guys, there is no way to scheme out of it. AA many times put his guys in a spot to make a play. It’s important to note that Daniels is tough for anyone to tackle in the open field and all of LSU’s receivers are a tough matchup. We’ll get there, as long as we don’t run off our help

Coach needs remember a simple concept. Slow minds = slow feet. And on top of that we actually have slow feet. Knowing that the coach has to keep it simple. They also don’t trust each other which keeps them from doing their job. They are a mess

Good film. The D is schizoid. Some great schemes, some great execution and then just the opposite. Will maturity solve the issues? Time will tell. I think Mizzou will be a lot like LSU. If we can make less mistakes, we have a chance. FSU is a rivalry game at home, so all bets are off. Plan to win.

James, what happened? I was right there with you beating that drum for Armstrong. Went so far as to call him a “revelation” at DC earlier in the year.
What has happened to this unit to start out so hot only to backslide into the worst performance in the HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSITY.
I just don’t know. Starting to feel like Billy’s goose is cooked and it’s just a matter of time before we search for a new AD and coach.

Something isn't being taught. The freshman excuse works early in the season, not late. These guys have played too much this season to show no improvement. I know AA is your guy, but his responsibilities are more than just game day. I don't know what is happening during the week, but something clearly isn't working.
