got a hitachi camcorder today, it wasn't turning on even with a battery i made so i had to extract the tape manually. this video is really helpful and made the tape come out intact, thank you very much.
@@12voltvids Thanks, well nothing at all from the load motor. Were these motors ever a problem? I have looked all through your videos and have not seen you find a faulty one or change one. Are they easy to remove?
@@12voltvids I was thinking the same thing. But where would I start with that? Is there a manual eject? Again, I am going to scour your videos. I saw one that you made in two or three parts with the DCR-TRV110. Incidentally, you said that you were going to remake that one into one episode. There appears to be no damage, should I start by removing the basket?
I have a JVC GR- AXM100 and desperately trying to eject a tape out. Battery checks out a 6.3v but when I push the eject button, I hear what sounds like gears moving for a few seconds but then the camera turns off. Any advice? Buy a new battery? I suspect it has 6v but doesn't have the amperage? Just guessing here.
I have a Sony vx3, it was acting weird and not wanting to shut or open. Got it kind of working but now it’s displaying eject but doesn’t open. I can see a white gear spinning freely as it tries to open for about a min before it gives up. Do you know what that might be
I have sony video 8 camera which shows eject sing beeping after 5 seconds later when i play or record. It plays and record good for 5 seconds. Casstettes are ok I've tried them on an other camcroder. I took apart last night there is no visible damage insade of it. What is the problem?
Could be severed flex cable on lower chassis caused by sharp cassette lid catch. Ei look like a scratch. I have talked about this on many videos including this one. I show where it gets damaged. If it is scratched it is probably cut.
Umm, at what point did this person think their plan of mauling the camcorder to get the tape out was a bad idea? Was that Brad from videohelp in the background? That's the only person from the Vancouver area that I can think of off hand that would be doing digital video conversions.
No. Lots of people doing digital conversions besides me. This is one of the big guns with a big film scanner. He does alot of archiving for government and media companies with deep pockets. Does everything from 8mm to 35mm film.
@@12voltvids Now I'm really curious what was on the tape! Likely nothing interesting though. Video-8 was pretty popular for police dash cam recorders hence the demand. I would have thought that would have tapered off by now with the move to digital solid state and statures of limitations expiring on older footage.
@@NJRoadfan really? The police officers i know told me it was a trunk mounted VHS that was locked in a box in the truck and then patrol officer had no access just the shift Sargent. It recorded as soon as the lights were activated. The tape was changed every day.
@@12voltvids hi there I need help as my 8mm tape is stuck in the camcorder and when I press play on the screen comes up like a static screen and then stops and says eject but my tape wont eject out and door wont even open while I press the eject button on it makes all the sounds but dose not come out ,what screw do u use to get the screws out .
During the mid 90's, in our Midlands camcorder service department, jammed tapes were a regular occurrence. Thanks for the idea of the 3 volts. I put 3 batteries together and reversed the polarity and it ejected the old tape. 😮 awesome 👌
Very helpful video thanks. What power supply unit do find best to use ?
Any idea how to get the cassette door to open when the “eject” button doesn’t do it? 😮💨
The correct way is to actually smoke it out, you'll need a block of cheese and a pack of ciggies.
Hi Dave, should I be able to operate the loading motor using two 1.5v batterys? I am getting no movement at all.
Yes

You can connect an external power supply.
I do not have a power supply thing. Any other way to get the tape out? Mine is in same condition this one was brought to you in
Do not care to same the cam corder. Has an old family tape in it though.
