NO, Liu Kang is not evil that's clearly obviously been specified in the Mortal kombat 1 trailer. The problem is people don't actually pay attention to what he was saying in the trailer and just make up their own assumptions and speculations and theory about something that's clearly not true according to what the trailer has shown us. After mk11 the story of mortal Kombat became confusing now we have the reveal that other timelines happened before the reboot or between Netherrealm games, the titan existing that may or may not be above the one being and now shang tsung possibly jumping through timelines
I'm confused on the combat cast Ed Boon said this is not a continuation of Mortal Kombat 11 it's basically a completely new story that this was basically a new timeline so everything that happened with Mortal Kombat 11 you can pretty much throw all of that out so how could you come up with any of this
I can see Liu being an antihero of sorts. Maybe lawful good. While there have been long-standing debates on Ed Boon's feelings about Liu, making him evil would both be predictable (as Raiden more or less had this arc, not to mention numerous fighting game protagonists have an evil version like Ryu and Jin) and would upset fans. That said, that won't mean that Liu won't have to make some hard choices. The apparent fact that he has chosen not to be with Kitana is very interesting as in the original MK11 ending, Raiden suggested that he stay with her so that the burden of creation wouldn't weigh so heavy on him. Perhaps the resolve we see in this trailer when he obliterates Shang Tsung stems from the loneliness and exhaustion this power brings.
What if Shang’s death is a distraction to Onaga’s return and the kung lao we know is his warrior cause he wants to be just as great or greater than his ansestor. I would have liked more multiverse branches than just timetravel it would be intresting to have a Shang that is leading worriors agenst evil and he has chosen Lu Kang to be next on his list cause the one he knew went nuts and had to be finished then the power went somewhere else. Can’t wait for the gameplay trailer it should give us a lot of answers.
I think Liu isn’t evil but I feel like there will be repercussions to the changes he has made to the timeline and I wonder if there will be rules for this tournament as well! I have so many questions!!!
It honestly could be Lui has seen how things have played out and honestly he's tired of Stangs shit. It might also come down to he is more proactive than Raiden was without going overboard because he knows someone is coming and it better be Onaga or I'm going to be very sad. Please Ed give us Onaga back he deserves some time to shine.
Liu kang he transcends good and evil the universe is his to control his to make he cannot be evil because everything belongs to him this is his timeline his kingdom he is not good or evil he just is. Everything is as he has created it, and he can destroy it as he sees fit.
@Blaze he was confirmed on the website as well as Johnny cage but y’all expected it to be him because of a rice hat that others have worn in the games before. We seen how Raiden looked as a mortal in aftermath now pleaseeeeee tell me ( due to character likeness ) how the hell it makes sense that he goes from a 8 foot tall white dude to a possible six foot Asian male 😐😐😐. Liu is taller than both characters hes standing next to and even in mortal Raidens state in aftermath he was still wayyy taller than fire god Liu Kang. To change Raiden like this would be like making guile look like asap rockey but i completely ignore character likeness just because hes wearing a green tank top at a military base 🫤. Take Radien and the grate kung Lao in mk11, put them side by side with the person who y’all think is radien in mk1 an let’s see who he looks like. Idc how much aging you do, you don’t start young as a Asian male then magically turn into a white male lol. Plus it wouldn’t make sense because Raiden and the elder gods has been here since the dawn of time and the titans before that. Every time Cronika reset time so was the history of the elder gods but everything in the mk history happened at the same time periods. The game isn’t even set in the past it’s hella modern if ppl actually take the time to cross compare both games and actually fully analyze the trailer. Cronika herself couldn’t even change how characters look so why y’all think Liu Kang can do all this extra magical features. I’m pretty sure that Raiden is either a title now or it’s two Kung Laos in the game, if they change Raiders race then i can understand it to match more historically with the setting and lore.
I think Liu is gonna be the villain think about being a creator of a timeline add the people you want and if they act up you kill them sounds very scary to me !!
I cannot be convinced until MK1 actually comes out that Shang Tsung's ending wasn't the cannon ending of MK11. Things smell too much like a misdirect & it would be very much up NRS's avenue in the vein of MK9.
They $aid you xould pixk a $ide…. I think if you xhoo$e evil you fight Liu Kang in da end, if you xhoo$e good then you fight Onaga. Thatz MY theory… 🤷🏾♂️
I hope Liu Kang is not "evil" or antagonistic here. And IF he does stray a bit in this newer timeline, he's put back on the right path soon after without being killed. And honestly I got tired of bad guy Liu Kang when MK9 started and it started slipping into other things with him. Even non-canon MK stuff like the online Legacy series. And GAWD do I never want to see revenant versions of characters again anymore in this game onwards. 🙄 Personally I don't see Liu keeping his godhood forever. He's far too powerful a character for the heroes to have on their side and is unbalanced/broken in-universe wise and I'm betting he'll lost this in this new game's plot at some point. Be they nullified or stolen by someone, sacrificed to save someone/something, or even to kombat a greater threat such as Onaga, another Titan, the One Being somehow or whatever. 🥴
It's like when they made John Conor irredeemably evil in Genisys when he was possessed by Skynet. Ugh, we don't talk about that movie, and we don't talk about another attempt at making evil Liu Kang.
I have a theory. Ok in MK 11 old timeline Raiden used Shinnok's amulet on Scorpion in part 1 of the story he had that corrupt look when he used it for a couple minutes. What if that corruption stuck when he transfered his powers and combined both versions of Liu Kang into the fire God version. I mean we know the revenant version already was evil too, and now he is essentially 2 Liu Kangs fused with Raiden's slightly corrupted power.
Plot twist: Liu Kang is evil, pay close attention to small details in the trailer as he has a slight smirk on his face when "Shang Tsung" appeared thru the portal, clue #2 Sub Zero (bi han) and scorpion (kuai liang) just like in mk1 alongside SHANG TSUNG" and then he receuis clue #3 Liu Kang's fatality he did to Shang tsung didn't seem kinda of a darker eerie Vibez from Liu Kang his demeanor changed as the background become darker while executing him so my theory is that Liu Kang is Shang Tsung in disguise hint hint and that Shang tsung is from another timeline which is Liu Kang (Shang tsung) alibi to make Liu Kang seems like a new peace is awaiting them but in reality its Shang tsung plotting yet another sinester plan to take over all realms just my opinion tho
Definitely don't need anymore evil Liu Kang. I'm cool with a Liu Kang that don't take no shit, but I'm never a fan of dark Liu. I liked 3d Era dark Raiden, but never dark Liu
But how is it even possible that Shang Tsung could do this? Only one of the endings is canon, and that is confirmed to be the good one. Both endings cannot exist at the same time, it is one or the other. And we know that in that good ending Shang Tsung got erased, completely vanished into.nothing so it's impossible that this version of shang tsung could come back to torment Liu Kang because he's dead. I honestly think this Shang Tsung that we see in the trailer belongs to Liu Kang's new timeline. Liu Kang did everything he could to make a peaceful timeline but of course we know, human beigns (and other sentient races) are still capable of doing evil things, that nature of ours is not something liu kang can control, not even being as powerful as he is. So maybe in this new timeline there's a new Shang tsung, as there's also a new baraka, a new mileena and a new johnny cage.
Can anyone answer why Liu Kang has red eyes in MK 1 aka MK 12, rather than the blue eyes he had at the end of MK 11? By the way, his introduction in MK 1 reminds me of Dark Raiden already, a protector of Earthrealm that has a dark side to him.
Liu kang never becomes villain because Liu kang is a original mk champion and true protector of earth realm because human form Liu kang saves earth realm much more than Lord raiden before. If NRS makes Liu kang in some negative character again then Liu kang will always comes back in his chosen one position like he comes back in mk 11 because the storyline of mortal Kombat game only demands Liu kang to becomes a main protagonist not any other mk characters.
If liu kang can go evil in the old timeline he can do the same for this one. Liu kang is my main but the way he had Scorpion and subzero standing behind him when he was speaking with Johnny cage is kinda sketchy and it looks just like how Shang Tsung had them both under his control in the first mortal kombat movie
I dont think Liu will be evil, but anyone who uses peace as a threat is capable of it. We all know what the road to hell is paved with.. ....Skittles. The road to hell is paved with Skittles.
That is so funny because remember in mortal Kombat 9 if I'm not mistaken Liu Kang ending Liu Kang turns into a God and then his turned evil somewhat like that check it out
I wonder if there will be a option to where you can turn off the assist aka cameos, the idea doesn't seem bad but I'm used to the 1v1 style, now I don't mind the assist/ cameos maby on the mortal kombat towers or special challenges on the towers or even a tag mode but not on the story or regular game matches.
This kind of videos are only waste of time. We will find out the story when it releases. We making and watching theories but if the story gone different from the theories it will be disappointing

I wish NRS had given Liu Kang a happy ending and retired him from the franchise.
the real question is, did Lui Kang tell the others about their past self lives
What if Shang’s death is a distraction to Onaga’s return and the kung lao we know is his warrior cause he wants to be just as great or greater than his ansestor. I would have liked more multiverse branches than just timetravel it would be intresting to have a Shang that is leading worriors agenst evil and he has chosen Lu Kang to be next on his list cause the one he knew went nuts and had to be finished then the power went somewhere else. Can’t wait for the gameplay trailer it should give us a lot of answers.
Being originally human, he can be corrupted, but I think he is good for this iteration of MK.
I think Liu isn’t evil but I feel like there will be repercussions to the changes he has made to the timeline and I wonder if there will be rules for this tournament as well! I have so many questions!!!
He's MK 9 endings Evil
All gods are evil or good from a certain point of view
It honestly could be Lui has seen how things have played out and honestly he's tired of Stangs shit. It might also come down to he is more proactive than Raiden was without going overboard because he knows someone is coming and it better be Onaga or I'm going to be very sad. Please Ed give us Onaga back he deserves some time to shine.
Liu kang he transcends good and evil the universe is his to control his to make he cannot be evil because everything belongs to him this is his timeline his kingdom he is not good or evil he just is. Everything is as he has created it, and he can destroy it as he sees fit.
🤘🏽 KILLSWITCH ENGAGE 🤘🏽
Omg, 1st time when i'm first to a video of yours. I am so happy to see that you posted again! I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
*2nd
If I was a new mk fan, I would assume that Liu is evil.
Remember Lui Ksngs MK9 ending!
Imma die on this hill… That’s the grate kung Lao not Raiden lol
This Lui doesn’t have white hair either
I think we deal more than one (villain)
Omgosh I love your weight loss transformation!!!! You look so different I almost didn’t recognize for a sec!!! You look great 🤍🥰👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I think Liu is gonna be the villain think about being a creator of a timeline add the people you want and if they act up you kill them sounds very scary to me !!
I cannot be convinced until MK1 actually comes out that Shang Tsung's ending wasn't the cannon ending of MK11. Things smell too much like a misdirect & it would be very much up NRS's avenue in the vein of MK9.
I'm not against evil Liu Kang, but I'm most definitely against evil Fire-God Liu Kang. That doesn't feel right.
Personally I don't see Liu keeping his godhood forever.
Don't we have enough of evil Liu Kang already. Ain't revenant Liu Kang or Zombie Liu Kang good enough.
Definitely don't need anymore evil Liu Kang. I'm cool with a Liu Kang that don't take no shit, but I'm never a fan of dark Liu. I liked 3d Era dark Raiden, but never dark Liu
i mean im not surprised if Liu actually killed off "THE GREAT KUNG LAO" to reclaim his title as the chosen one
That glorious suspension in mortal Kombat X ending will never happens in this series again.
Mortal kombat 11 was disappointing indeed.
Since we have gods in Mortal Kombat, they could fight DragonBall characters lol
That would be something that no one would expect. With the creators you never now. So I wouldn't put it pass them, it could be possible.
Fire God Liu Kang's not evil. He literally talked about living in peace, but whoever defies that has to suffer the consequences.
Interesting
Did you notice Lui Kang's smirk right after Shang Tsung appeared?
That is so funny because remember in mortal Kombat 9 if I'm not mistaken Liu Kang ending Liu Kang turns into a God and then his turned evil somewhat like that check it out
No more evil Liu Kang I don't want no evil Liu Kang or a revenant version of him. Just bring out Onaga who mostly every body wants to see.
The great kung lao could easily be the kung lao we see in the trailer, just with a different outfit and a hat....tournament ready...
Game it’s out now, and Liu is the best fire god of all time. Not evil in anyway 👍🏻 just like i was saying 3 months ago
This kind of videos are only waste of time. We will find out the story when it releases. We making and watching theories but if the story gone different from the theories it will be disappointing
What if Shang won. An he is just sending versions of himself to Lui’s timeline to destroy it. Thus why he tells Shang to stop doing this. Meaning he’s done it more then once
Lmfaoooo Top Tier Fan Fiction When It’s Plain As Day what’s going on here 😂
This a terrible take this whole game is about him redeeming the world his revanant may come back some how but i dont see this happening bruh i have played everyone of these games evil liu is not “different” its the same ole shit, they better not.
Where does geras fit into this story? Are we just not going to see him again? I would think he'd have some significance.
Evil Liu Kang would be dumb and I don’t think anything suggests that he will be.
the fact that liu kang is the raiden of this timeline, why did all the main hero’s die, why didnt he save them? he most likely well guilt trip that he still couldnt save everybody
Liu kang was a revenant and he was evil now he's a god and have him evil no thank you. Liu kang is literally all about good why make evil like no please.
Liu Kang only wants to protect his friends and family so I doubt he is evil
Why did you feel the need to quote word for word what Lui Kang says.. a little pretentious
I think liu kang is just going to end up going crazy trying to make the perfect timeline
Liu is NOT an evil, he is a god and what he wants is the peace. He is even a hero that he suffered too much, now he had what he deserves.
Liu channeled the spirit of Anderson Silva with that kick.
Why doesnt lui kang have lighting too cuz at the end of aftermath when he comes to kung lao he says hes the god of fire and thunder
