    Interesting. Quite different than in Germany. We have a special napkin, which is used only for the mouth. Mostly it is saved in the restaurant and you only get a napkin for multiple purposes ...

    Is there a separate napkin for dessert? I am considering inviting guests for dessert after a night at the theatre and am curious how to proceed. Thank you for your time.

      +John Hubbell No - you'd use same napkin for the rest of the meal (so dinner napkin for an evening meal, luncheon napkin for a midday one...)

    Could you complain how I can leave the napkin on the chair when I leave the table and come back to a chair that is going to have grease and dirt which happened to have fallen onto the napkin during my meal?
