Lovely to see everyone. The weather in the UK has been awful too. We can't escape it! With regard to Risey, we must never give up hope. He and Queen Uniek are the reason that I first became aware of this channel and found all the lovely people (herd) worldwide. There is a friesian horse living in Britain, a mare, who has had wobblers for some years. She is very well cared for and lives amongst other friesians. She can also be carefully ridden, which helps with exercising her muscles etc. We will always remember Myrthe from Stal G who had an extreme case of wobblers and had to be put to sleep, back in 2021. Bless her. So, we must hope and pray that Risey can learn to live with wobblers and have a good life with Yvonne. Fingers crossed eh folks? ❤

I do hope so. He is such a special horse to so many of us. The joy of their story helped us though Covid. And he is in the best place with his two mums, Uniek and Yvonne.
Dearest Yvonne…I found you and Stal G back when the world was turned on its head in lock down…and there I met Queen Uniek and Rising Star…learning of the previous babes lost…and watching in wonder the love and acceptance of your dear Queen…and bearing witness to such a sweet and heart filling story. I have thought long on what I wanted to share with you here as you navigate this trying and heartbreaking time. What I have landed on is thank you…once again…thank you for sharing these beautiful creatures lives and those of your family. Thank you to dear sweet Rising Star, the gift, for bringing a smile to my face and warmth to my heart with his loving ways and coltish antics. My mind and heart are full of the them. That will never change no matter what the outcomes of your thoughtful and well researched decision. I send my gratitude, love and healing prayers to you all. 🙏🏻💞🙏🏻

Yvonne please do not blame yourself. Risey acted perfectly normal and there is always hope his disease can be managed. Therapy, vitamins, specific exercises can perhaps increase his quality of life and keep him, you, and all of us happy. Dear Yvonne, Risey will let you know how and what he feels. Keep hope in your heart and many of us are praying 🙏. ❤❤❤🐴

Nobody would have guessed there was anything wrong with Risey. He looked to be the perfect specimen of health. All of us saw what a beautiful young lad he is. I know it's hurting your heart, don't blame yourself, please. None of us would have seen anything wrong with him either. HUGS! Give Risey hugs from us too!
The Friesian in England with Wobblers is at the UA-cam channel “Black Horses Ltd-The Friesian Experience”. Tracey Alexander takes in older and injured Friesians and takes care of them on her farm in NW England, Lake District. She has treated her horse (Anja) with Wobblers and maybe you can reach out to her for advice on what treatments she has done. Her horse does carriage and Tracey rides her. She seems to be a very nice person and she might be able to give you some advice. Checking out her and her channel may be helpful for Risey.
This was lovely to watch. Weather is abnormal all over the globe due to climate change and global warming. Nice to see Risey and the others. I am not a horse person but I can tell something is what I would call out of alignment in his walking gait. I hope there will be a way for him to live out his life with the condition. Though, I trust you to make to make the best decision on his behalf.
The three younger colts are very sweet and handsome. There are several caretakers of the Three Amigo's/ Three Musketeers. They didn't notice Risey's medical issues either. If the cause of his problem was trauma related, I think all of his caretakers would have noticed it. His disease is a progressive illness. Signs and symptoms develop over time. It is very sad, but it is no one's fault. All of the animals at Stal G and Stal H are well cared for and loved. Any subscriber to your channel knows this. Continued prayers and positive loving thoughts for you and Rising Star. 💖

With anti-inflamatories and painmeds 25 years ago, my Doberman did well with Wobblers. Considered surgery but chose not to since he responded so well with meds. Hoping that you have a similar experience with Risey. You both deserve a miracle. Love seeing the young ones at Stahl G

It’s bittersweet to see Rising Star looking so beautiful, healthy and strong in this video. Look at that big powerful chest he is developing. Prayers for his recovery.
Rising star looks stunning in this video. I confess that when I heard of Yvonne’s injuries, I did not ever think she would make this kind of recovery. It just did not seem possible, not with the seriousness of her situation. Rising star also has a serious condition and just maybe there is hope there. But I know Yvonne will have a tough decision to make. For those who say oh just keep him as a non riding horse, he can just hang out in the pasture, realize if he does not recover that is no life for a young horse. And nobody can afford to keep a horse as a pasture decoration considering the vet care and nutritional support he would need. This isn’t a puppy, this is a thousand pound animal who needs all four legs under him. Yvonne will decide based on what is best for him and what is best for her stable and I will support her in any way I can. So should we all.
This is EXACTLY how I have been thinking......but it hurts, so much, even thinking about the inevitable...
OR is it??
We just do not know, so I plan to keep on HOPING......and not hurt the herd, by discussing that " inevitable".....which may never be!

Good memory of the three young stallions last summer. I hope Risey's wobbler syndrome can be treated to let him stabilize and you can not worry about him deteriorating. I am so glad you brought him home to your Stal.
On another channel I saw some horses with the wobble. One was caused by compressed discs at the base of the neck. With treatment she was still able to ride her and she pulls a carriage for the children of the village to bring in Santa all decked out in lights! She seemed to enjoy the prancing and shoeing off for the kids! I’m just hoping our Risey can find a good enriching life once this gets under control. No, he won’t probably be able to do dressage, but maybe he has another journey and pathway. Imagine all the possibilities.
Rising Star is “exactly where he needs to be” with Uniek, Yvonne and the children, dogs,ponies, foals and surrounded by peace, tranquility and love. We will get a Miracle 🌠🙏🌠🙏💗💗

Horses can live with Wobblers, depending on how bad it is
I know a horse who is very happy, has wobblers. he is exercised by being walked, lunged, and occasional riding in a controlled arena.
He is like 12 now and was diagnosed at about 3
So , cheer up. it can be managed if it doesn't get too bad.
keep the gorgeous Risey exercising and using those muscles to keep him in excellent shape for better longevity and less likliehood of getting worse

Yes, Risey has a kingly physique, he's so beautiful. I am determined to think positively that he will get better with Yvonne's love and vetinary treatments. I have seen stories on the internet about other horses, while not completely cured, still live a comfortable life as beloved pets ❤
@@Sonic-dogmagic Thank you for your lovely comment. These are my beliefs also. Rising Star has always been beautiful and special. He got us all through Covid as we were locked up and saw no one. I think when they get him the correct treatment he will definitely be able to live a comfortable life as a beloved pet. I am continuing to pray.
It's amazing how well built Rising Star is for his age when you realize most 2 year old KWPN are very lanky looking in comparison, a very gorgeous horse.
He has a more baroque body type as compared to his sire, he looks more like his mare in terms of size.
Sad to say....this MAY be part of his problem...he grew so big, so fast....there was no way of knowing...and one can only make guesses.....
One thing is for certain....he is receiving the best care possible, right where he is!

To look at Rising Star grazing in the pasture, you'd never guess that he had Wobblers.
His legs were so straight as he stood there, and he didn't seem to favor any particular limb as he slowly walked to more grass to eat.
Yvonne must have an eagle's eye when it comes to spotting health problems in horses. Goedzo, Yvonne! Your early attention to this terrible condition has improved Risey's chances of recovery.
I am always up for newbies joining the herd!😊. Risey can still have a good life Yvonne…he has YOU. Let’s take it one day at a time and no self-blame please. In this video Risey looked very healthy❤

It was good to visit Stal G. It looks like everyone seems to be doing well - I'm glad Tsjerk seems to be slowly getting over his fear of people (Frieda seems to have done her job a little too well 😂).
And please don't worry about not noticing Risey's symptoms at that point in time. Again, this is just my inexperience talking, but I wouldn't have noticed a thing if I weren't looking for anything. The important thing is that you took action as soon as you perceived something was wrong. Please don't blame yourself.
I agree! When you see an animal every day, if the problem comes up slowly, if it's just a little thing it is so easy to overlook. And things like that aren't really apparent until it gets worse. Every one out in your human herd knows how well you take care of the horses! They are in the best hands!!
Yes, Freida seems to have instilled much caution in her Tsjerk.....wondering is she remembers losing her first colt....and over compensating....?
But Tserk will come around...between Herme and Yvonne, he cannot keep resisting for much longer.

The Frisian language is closely related to English. Sometimes I hear you say a word that in English is either archaic, or is Old English (Anglo-Saxon). Today you said 'besom'. This is an archaic word for broom in English. I have seen a video of a man who speaks fluent Anglo-Saxon, and he spoke with a Frisian farmer...and to a pretty good extent they could communicate! :)
I love how the horses just come up to you. :) They trust you, which is beautiful! Even Tsjerk quickly decided he wanted your attention. The two young stallions touching noses like best friends was very sweet. 🥰

And yeah, honestly if I hadn't already known Risey had Wobbler's I wouldn't have guessed anything was wrong. Slow stepping back legs don't mean there's a problem, it's just slow careful steps while he leisurely grazes. But you know what? I'm glad he's happy where he's at now, and that you're doing everything to keep him that way. Recovery is absolutely possible.

@@bernadettjuhasz1288 He's currently at Stal H! There was a picture of him recently, and the look on his face doesn't show him to be in any pain.
I said recovery is possible because there are treatments for Wobbler's. Thing is, it's costly, and it's uncertain how well he could recover from it with treatment based on severity, but it is certainly possible. Don't know if Yvonne's done anything yet, I think things are still in the evaluation stage.

You might look into PRP or prolotherapy for Rising Star’s neck ligaments like you had done in Uniek’s foot tendons. I’ve had all sorts of PRP and even stem cell prolotherapy in my neck ligaments, and it’s stopped so many of the neurological issues I was having like losing consciousness and control of my legs and feet. I have 13 herniated discs in my cervical and thoracic spine, and I’d be dead without these treatments. They’re not so fun to recover from, but it’s far easier than having metal rods and screws. Just a thought. He may have torn/weak ligaments that are effecting the space for his spinal cord like I do.

It is so interesting to see how hard it rains there. We have some downpours, but not like that usually. It was so nice to see the young horses again. They are not filled out yet as are Risey and his friends. I guess it is the age difference.
The 3 colts look great here...I cannot see any sign of Risy limping, either....
We KNOW you always check them for bumps, cuts and bruises....SO, this was so unfortunate..... Not like he could tell you!

Good morning! It's so good to see Sanne and Vera playing in the mud is the cutest thing ever 🤩. I'm sorry about Risey. You're right looking at him you would never know anything is wrong. I've done so much reading and research and it is very depressing. I'm just so sorry you have to go through this with him. I'm praying for you both and hoping that someone will come up with a way that he can get better.

Climate change has been brutal to many areas in the world. On a different note, if Risie is not in pain and getting around ok, I dont see why he would have to be put down. He can be a companion horse for Yvonne. Every horse has a reason to be in a persons life for certain lessons; hence, why horses have been promoted to teachers from beast of burden. I am excited to see where Yvonne and Risie's journey will take them. Wobblers does not have to stay a handicap.

I believe Yvonne told us she had moved Risey into the stall beside Queen Uniek. I like to think of Risey's mother being able to give him some comfort with a nuzzle or rub as needed with any discomfort he may have especially with the vets visiting and his evaluations. His mom's and Yvonne's love will help him through this bad illness. Prayers and love from us all hopefully helps as well. I know we will be available, too, financially and otherwise, to help Yvonne once she determines what her course of action will be with Risey.

Oh my, I am used to that where I live. But my property isn't flat. Lucky the horses don't mind it! It is so fun to see them playing with the water and mud. Maybe they would enjoy helping Rein build some poop castles?

Hi, Yvonne it was raining here in August like this here where I live. The weather is changing, and I call it wacky weather because that's what Global Warming does it changes our weather patterns. Loved Vera playing in the mud entertainment for herself. Glad Teije Rein was so welcoming with you I know they don't see you that often but clearly he knows you. Risey in the field that was so beautiful.

Is this condition of rising star like a carpal tunnel where the nerve is being pinched only down his spine? And is it all the way down his spine or in just a few areas or even one area? Maybe there is something that they can do like they do for carpal tunnel patients. I just can’t imagine what you’re going through after all the rising star has been through. I don’t suppose it’s worth asking the vet about but I just thought about it. God bless you we’re praying for you and that there will be some answers for rising star. He turned into such a beautiful, beautiful horse.
