Thank you so much. I have had my serger for 28 years - I have changed thread by tying it and prayed for never having it break. On those occasions when it has - I have spent HOURS trying to successfully get it threaded again. After watching your video - I followed your instructions and it worked. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I almost bought a new serger just because of this issue.
I fought with my serger for an hour breaking the lower looper thread over and over until I watched your video - laying the lower looper thread into the “elbow” of the upper looper is the best advice and fixed it the first time! Thank you!!
You answered the question of where you lay the threads! My dryer was just serviced and lowerlooper kept snapping…your technique fixed it! Thank you sooooooo much!
i've been threading my machine wrong since 2015 because the manual said to do the opposite of this... I can't believe it I've broken so many threads and spent so much time rethreading from scratch. thank you so much.
Glad it helped. What kind of serger do you have? If they truly did have it wrong - meaning their way did NOT work, I would notify them if I were you... just sayin'.
Londa,,, ,Simply Excellent !!!!!!!!!........... Your Very concise and to the point tutorial on threading a Serger is probably the best throughout any other videos out here on UA-cam , and I've watched at least a hundred or more,,,,, I believe most if not all Serger's are threaded in the same manner, though some might have different pathways to the lower looper as mine does, Singer 14U64a serger, the overall concept is the same, and everyone can hopefully take their time and review your thorough guide in threading,,,,, You are Brilliant!!!!! Thank you......
Be SURE to thread the Upper Looper first, THEN the Lower Looper and then the Needles. Make sure your threads are not getting caught up on the spindle as they come off the spools. Try try again!
Most likely because it is not threaded correctly. There is some mechanism to get the lower looper thread in the far left end/bend of it. Don't miss that, and make sure you are doing it corretly. Then, the lower looper MUST go up over the Upper Looper thread, as I show in this video. I hope this helps. If it is black thread, it might just be bad thread. Black is often over-dyed mistakes of other colors. Also - make sure that the thread is not getting caught up on the spool pin.
Hi. I have a question? my serger tread keeps ripping, the second lower tread. I can sew about 2 inches then it wraps, how can I fix it I, tried everything and nothing works
Watch the video again and again. You must not have the lower looper (I think that is the one you mean) in the proper order or position. There is some type of clip or thread guide back to the left on the lower looper itself that I bet you are missing, or you are gettting twisted around the lower looper. Be SURE the needle threads are NOT wrapped around the looper when you begin as I show in the video.
Thank you thank you! So helpful, was going mad and wanted to throw my serger out the window! But now it is all good again 😀
Incredibly helpful, thank you!
