The aesthetic of this game just seems so fun and delightful. My one complaint about this game, and it's a common one with dice drafting games, is the lack of utility for low numbers. It's very possible for all the dice to roll low and lead to lackluster turns for players. Some games make an interesting balancing act of say higher numbers being more powerful but lower ones get higher priority in resolving. But anyway, that's just my hot take based on what I saw here. Excellent tutorial as always, both very informative and entertaining at the same time.
Hi Jon! I know this video was a few years back and I just came across it, but I was hoping you, or someone else watching, can clarify two things. At 44:16 when you were scoring the Master Cards with the different names you first said it was worth 5 points, but the 5 is the max times you can score it. The card is actually 4 points, which you do mention, but where it gets confusing is you have two different Magnificent characters and the card scores 4 points for each different character. You said it only scored 4 points, but for two cards that are different, as the rulebook states, that would be 8 points instead of 4, correct? Then at 45:04, where you are scoring the similar cards, the book says to choose one Magnificent character, and you score 5 points for each of your completed posters with this name on it including the starting poster. So since you have two cards that are different, then would you just choose one, say Suhayl, since it is the one in the video, and since there is only one card you only score 5 points, correct?
32:09 You say you are getting rid of two gems, then you cut, and start over saying you are getting rid of one without identifying that the earlier choice was a mistake younare taking back. It was a bit confusing.
nice play through. i would like to play this and see how it goes, but not something i am going to pick up right away. Oh...and this is the first play thru where there have been ads every 10 minutes or so.
Yep, this was an experiment with adding mid-roll adds. JGG is my only source of income with the pandemic raging and I need to see if the extra income is worth the extra annoyance to viewers. I hate to say it, but for the time being I think it has to be :-\
@@GettingGames I understand. the Pandemic has forced nearly all of us to face choices that we would rather not make and often have no good options. I hope the ads help ease the financial strain and i remain a loyal subscriber and patreon supporter. take care.
Jon, once you place a die on a master card to gain a +1 or a +2 to your die, that total is used for the rest of the round. Ex. At around the 35 min mark you add the 6 pip purple die and you said you had a total of ten and I believe the total should have been 12. Cheers
This would be incorrect. The rulebook includes an example where previously placed dice only add their pips, and only the master card being used the current round activates it's ability
I think that's unlikely these days. I no longer own a copy of it, though it could be requested by the Contributing Producer Patreon supporters and I could probably source a copy.
The best tutorials in the business! Thanks for another great video, Jon!

Unfortunately, it's been too long since I played this game to remember the rules enough to answer your question. Sorry about that!
love this game - even if it dropped off your shelf!
ThNKS!
27:28 am I obliged to change the gem into 2 money units? Or is it allowed to refuse this bonus?

Great job!
Clear as a bell... thanks yo!
The mechanic of losing an action option to score points each round is really elegant.
Is the 2nd part available?
If you are asking about an extended playthrough, I am unfortunately no longer doing those. You can see why in my latest update vlog.
Agreed! One of my favorite parts to this game.
JonGetsGames oh right, just the video sounded like it should have 1
JonGetsGames thanks! That’s a shame but I get it! Editing is a right pain

Dang, I did indeed miss that when I was editing the video. Thanks for pointing that out, I've added a note about it to the Klingon subtitles.

When is this game coming to Canada? It has been on my list forever :(
Stores in Quebec got the French version a few weeks ago, but no English version copies anywhere yet :(
Hi Jon, would consider to make a video about Lisboa?
I think that's unlikely these days. I no longer own a copy of it, though it could be requested by the Contributing Producer Patreon supporters and I could probably source a copy.
38:23 Did not pay the gem cost of the performer here
Good catch, thanks for pointing that out. I've added a correction for this to the Klingon subtitles.
