Thanks for the clear and informative vid. It is much easier (and less messy) to polish the mist out of the plastic headlight lens with the headlight on a workbench
Always assumed this was a bumper off job (should have tried), so thanks for this. Any tips for refitting accurately? I've just removed one light to replace a bulb, but there's no obvious way to locate it accuratel;y when refitting the headlight. I mean that the headlight position itself can be angled differently. For example, initially it's sitting very low against the bumper (closer than the other one) but it's fit to the wing is not great. I think there's a lot of scope for ending up with poorly aligned headlight beams. On other cars I've done this one, the headlight fits into slots befor bolting down so it's position is exact.
No worries 😀 thank you. So the best way would be to mark it with.the pen or etc before removing and then align them marks as much as you can. Like and X mark around the obvious points
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Ha ha - yes, I realise that now :-) Will do on the other side. Going to figure out a basic manual alignment. I did this on motorbikes when fitting LEDs. Use a laser level to get the line on the garage door and go from there.
Can I get a video to replace a headlight washer cap? One of mine has gone so I got a replacement but nothing sure if I just push it on as it feels like a force ?
Hi there. It's plastic clips holding it in. You can take headlights out and try and get your hands under the bumper and push the clips in, or just force it out.
@AlexTheGrumpyOne hey, i just saw a video where a guy puts a magnet wrapped around a cloth with a wire inside the headlight, and a magnet with a cloth on the other side, i wanna give this method a try since its free but i was wondering if there is room voor a tiny magnet to reach the lens
Yeah it's good idea mate. I had one for the forehead but the sound was crap cause it was in a plastic case. But probably will find something else. That's good. Well done. Good luck with that. Only got one thing missing there is the brake fluid change. But will be doing video on that soon as I just received my brake fluid change kit.
Couldn't have imagined it was this simple. Thanks for posting!

You are welcome.
Unfortunately on Scirocco headlights what u get it micro cracks on inside of the headlight and that can't be polished off 😞
Thanks @@AlexTheGrumpyOne I had heard of that, but my lights were bad on the outside as well so at least they are 60% better 😅
@jongreen9113 haha well in that case it's a result 😀 it's a shame that they get like that -.-
Appreciate this video and your activeness in the vw Facebook group thank you !
Thank you very much!
I appreciate your support 😀

No worries 😀 thanks for the feedback
Just what I needed, thanks again Alex !
You are welcome 😀

Can’t get the plug to unclip, tried the screwdriver way but still won’t budge 😩
Spray some wd40 on it first. Hopefully someone before u didn't glue it together -.-
Great guide, thanks a lot.
No problems at all. You are welcome! Thank you for the feedback
Is it easy to swap the adjuster motor?

Can i use regular wd-40 as contact cleaner?
Personally I would recommend proper contact cleaner.
Hello, is there a way to undo the plastic pannel only? My headlights has condensation spots but its from the inside
No unfortunately there isn't. Unless you take headlight out and then heat it up and peal the cover off that is held with the glue in there
@AlexTheGrumpyOne thanks, guess ill have to buy new headlight covers.. 😪

Are the headlights the same in both a 2009 and a 2017 model?
I think there is a slight difference in the face-lift ones. But removal of them us the same
Q. how to change indicator lights on wing mirrors?
Hi there. I will be doing a video soon on that as well as I got led indicator units coming soon. Will upload the video as soon as possible
I don't dupose you happen to know which is the fuse for the air blower on the Scirocco 2010 diesel ,thanks.
Not at the moment. But can have a look for you tonight.
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Cheers Alex👍👍👍
Why not unplug the wires before undoing the bolts holding the headlight in??
Thanks !
No problems
You should get a chest strap for your camera mate 😊
That's not a bad idea buddy. Maybe one of them for the forehead I suppose
AlexTheGrumpyOne it’ll free your hands up so you can work easier mate, gunna do the service etc soon using your vid 👍🏻
