“Just put it into action.” Thank you! 🙏🏻
A breath of fresh air haha
Just make it work lol
Just fucking do it!!
Everyone else: NONONO iT hAs tO Be DoNe THIS way!
Pat Mac: F.U. Get it done.
@@mertz7305HA!! Fucking right man!! Gotta love Pat Mac!! Get it done and keep fighting…. Forget that nonsense of “it HAS TO be done like this!” that so many other “instructors” try to preach.
Ronnie Van Zandt said once that a good songwriter has to be able to relate to the people. This is why you can connect with all of us, Pat. We can relate to you. You’re not some overly tactical douche always going on about spec ops, teams, rangers and all things operator. You get that even guys with combat experience can’t grasp the current “business model” of high speed, low drag individuals. Instead , you break it down crayola style and we all can relate. Thank you.
Or someone who has "Tactical" in their name and their human combat chassis is maybe capable of running a 10yd dash!
100% true. Also, plus 5 points for the Skynyrd reference.
Pat, a man who has real world experience, an authority on combat related issues. A man who had more injuries from combat than some instructors had from overeating, and a man who is fit as hell, tough to the core. A man i respect!!!
*hell is not fit, it is the place where all who rebel against God have or will go.
i get that he's a good dude, but do people have to slobber all over him in every video? it's kind of pathetic and cringey
@@hamiltoncooper3603 haha sky daddy
@@StanHalen1936 dude gawd amirite? xDD im such a le edgy and smart atheist!
@Sercer25 correct.
I learn something every video that I need to be doing a little differently. Changing mag grip on a tactical reload now.
I agree. That's what happens when you learn from the very best teachers.
Great way to break down the mag change sequence. I appreciate this series and content. It puts important information into a short digestible amount. Thanks Pat.
Pat is the man 100% real life situations, no fancy stoopid things, like other that will sell you expensive gear instead of good and real training…
That Tac (“want to”) reload can’t be over-stressed: who wants to engage a bad guy with less than a full gun - keep it topped off as much as possible/practical. 👍👍
Every video pat puts out is quality content full of real world applicable knowledge and I friggin love it Stay dangerous lads 🇺🇲
Tac reloads are my homework tonight. I never saw gripping the mag between the pointer and middle fingers before. Thanks for sharing.
Known as cigar grip
This techniqe for grip of the fresh magazine is taught in the cqb course of nato in germany for the rifle tactical reload also plus the classic one
The more I see your videos, the more I feel hope that not everybody on UA-cam is just an entertainer.
ESL?
@@UncleFjester ESL? What part is confusing? Watching Pat Mac videos gives me hope.
Knowledge is best shared and Thank you for sharing yours.
Thank you sir for giving us this information. This is how to properly use the internet. LEARN!
That's pretty much the way they taught me at Gunsite back in '92. Some points: the speed load is the critical one, because your gun is dry and the fight is still on. So that's the one you should be best at. The Tac load, by definition, is done during a lull in the action, so you don't have quite the stress, quite the immediacy of an "oh shit, my gun is empty" load.
At Gunsite it was a big no-no to get caught at slide lock. It meant you weren't managing your gun. While I agree to an extent, in reality it meant we were doing almost no slide lock reloads, the ones they we should be best at.
There is a drill I use in my classes, (I didn't invent it, can't remember who I stole it from. ) In one drill, with little expenditure of ammo, you learn all THREE loads, Speed/Combat, Tactical, and Administrative.
Start with a round in the chamber, empty magazine, spare mag in pouch. On Go command, draw and fire two shots. You will go to slide lock halfway through, requiring a speed load to get off the second round.
After firing the second round, come back to Ready, check your environment. If everything is cool, do a Tactical load and holster.
Once holstered, pick up your empty mag and do an Administrative reload, leaving the pistol in the holster.
Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Each repetition only uses two rounds.
Appreciate all the info packed into these short films; concepts are boiled down into digestible lessons.
These are really rad. Pat is an incredible teacher and so damn experienced. 🤘🏼
I think what I appreciate most about you is your understanding that "one size fits all" doesn't work. "Just put it into action" is such a simple thing to say but it reveals a wealth of wisdom that different folks have different gear, ways or abilities. Thanks for understanding the real world, sir.
I don't know any of this stuff, so these basics are very valuable to learn.
Thanks for all the lessons keep it up dude
Thank you for continuing to put this content out for our consumption. Super easy to follow and uses common sense. #BURNITDOWN!
Great instruction!!! Thank you. Highboy
This could be a line in a PatMac-modified DaftPunk song. Work space, Drop it, grab it, switch it, stow it, tac-reload it.
I made the connection and can now easily remember it. :)
Outstanding post sir. This really helped me perfect my technique. I struggled with the magazine top off at an urban pistol class last weekend. Feel much better now
Truely Thank you
Stand strong
these videos are his best yet
thank you Sir for the golden nuggets of wisdom!🤘
The truth behind the towel hanging from the belt is revealed! It's hiding that off-centered gig line!!!
Looking good Mr. Mac. I like your shirt.
Great Video. Good Mag change knowledge, something I need to practice.
Both of these methods! Ilike the way of explaining. Nothing extra. Just the technique.
Thanks.
Had a civilian lecture me on stowing my half empty mags & not using them up or almost completely up then letting them fall to the ground, I just told him I like to keep the junk in the trunk. Love how you described that as “When you want to not when you have to” on mag changes. Every opportunity I had to put a new mag in I did bc that was typically the couple of seconds of calm in an engagement.
The knowledge shared in all of Pat Mac videos is great and explained simply motivating me to purchase TAPS and share the knowledge with my customers here in Lake Havasu City AZ at A Bird Freedom Support where knowledge is power
I knew you would have the best "want to" reload technique. Everyone is practicing speed.
I say: always ALWAYS have at least 1 extra pistol mag. Also, clean-check your spare mag, holder. Dust, lint, sweat, water may seep in. Inspect the carry ammunition too. Crud, grit, gobs of oil might show up. I often download 1 or 2 rounds to reduce the spring pressure but with modern semi auto guns that's not vital.
Where i train, we also pull lightly on the bottom tip of the mag right after slipping it in the pistol, before initiating the reload, juuuuuusssstttt in case it did not click just right on the way in. This saves you the "oh shit" moment of seeing your magazine drop to the floor as you pull the slide to put one in the chamber.
I can just imagine an elderly neighbor watching you from his kitchen window....
"Honey, that guy with the beard is playing with his pistols infront of the camera again."
"That's nice dear."
Great video, thanks.
Recently trained with a group where the theme of the day was avoid slide locks today...manage your gas tank.
Man he’s good. Rock and roll
Great stuff Mac. With tactical reloads, couldn’t agree more. The way we did it was to return the partially used mag back to mag pouch but invert the opposite way to how the full mag is carried (as you showed). That way, everyone knew instinctively that they had a partially loaded mag even when performing tac reloads in totally dark environments. I would add that any reload be done with eyes towards the threat. The eyes should never drop to the pistol or mag, either reseating a mag or returning it to the pouch. When we ran range and shoot house drills, instructors never forced the guys running through the drills to tac reload, unless it was a specific drill set. Guys had, had to decide this themselves but woe betide anyone who suddenly ran out because they forgot to tac reload!
Most professional shooters take a brief moment to look at their mag well before inserting a magazine into it. However, to each their own…
Thank you for this video. I will be using it to help teach my daughter how to change mags more effectively. Keep them coming!
Clear and precise… well done
Pat Mac The King of Combat!!
Always focused and on point!!
Rack n’ Roll!!
Excellent share and explanation on mag changes, direct, functional and to the point! Thank you Patrick, you rock brother…
Dude, you are the best!
Yes. Very good. Stowing is the deal. It may save your life later
Good video. Tactical mag changes never get enough thought. In fact, there are some out there who actually would tell you to just dump the mag regardless of whether or not it has rounds in it.
🌟 thanks PatMac
Pat Mac is simply the GOAT of fundamentals
Love your realistic approach. You can tell who's really been in the shit and a "by the book poser"...Thanks!
Outstanding. 🇺🇸
Been waiting for Pat Mac daily youtube videos since he uploaded the video of him shooting without a beard..... Yea that long haha
These are invaluable. Thank you Mac.
Robert Keller has an interesting philosophy when it comes to tac reloads, which is to basically just do a speed reload and then pick up the dropped magazine afterwards if you have time. Gets your firearm back into a ready state as quickly as possible in case something comes around the corner. Not sure if that applies to pistols as well and may be a slightly different definition of "want to" (perhaps closer to the "have to" side) but I thought it was an interesting alternative perspective on the classic tactical reload.
No nonsense excellent instruction. Just put it in action!!
Excellent, thanks for this.
Top shelf instruction here, Pat Mac. Muchas gracias!
That’s a qualm I have with some competitions I’ve been to in that they’ll have you do a tactical reload where it doesn’t make sense. Is in there are still active “bad guys”, I don’t have cover, and I still have rounds in the gun.
What kind of matches are you attending? That doesn’t sound right.
OUTSTANDING!
Great video. Right to the point.
Yep. I definitely need to work on my tac reloads
Thanks Pat Great video
Well presented!
Outstanding
Simple! All part of a system, your own. Thank you PatMac
I would have enjoyed working with Mac, I love his sence of dry humor/sarcasum I dont know if everyone else sees it in him?
The Good Stuff!!
Clear, concise teaching. 👍
Thank you Sir!
Thanks again for the great content. The way you break down each step is great. Keeping it simple is key!
Thank you for your service, an good information.
Good stuff!
Thank you ☘
Refined technique as always! Love it!
Great video .
Thanks for the video!
Thank you.
Something I concluded was to cant the gun and bend my arms in the ways my hands most naturally come together, just below about chin level.
Also, one thing I was taught on tac reloads was that you’ve probably expended twice as much ammo as you think you did, or at least us mortals.
Great Vid thank you!!
Good info
Outstanding, thank you! Good stuff my man!
Thank you
Good stuff
Thank you sir! 🤘🏼
Smoov bro. Thanks.
I just carry a G19 with a 50 round stendo...no need for spares.
If appendix carry, no spares, but plenty of stares!
Until that POS malfunctions💥
Good video. I can't drop the magazine on my Glock 19 as well as my P226. Will work on it...
I didn't hear $hit you said because of that gig line! Christ almighty, fix yourself and that belt. (channeling my inner drill instructor)
Great tips pat--doing the 4 things simultaneously.
I'm also interested in your tips on OWB / open carry holsters and the plethora of attachment choices and your preferences--ie, ride height, leg strap?, retention preferences. thank you
Thanks for the food
Came back for a review
Great information. Thank you for your selflessness. What brand of mag pouch do you use? I like how yours is up high.
Mac looking very Bavarian today..
Thumbs up👍👍
Pat, solid good sense as always. But, WHO MADE YOUR SHIRT? This is what we need to know...
Right!
Fuck yeah!
80’s rockstar
Food=😊 thanks
Thanks Pat🇺🇸⚔️🔫...
I like the holster and mag pouch! Who makes them?
Tactical Reload and a Practical Reload...
Excellent. I add: As my support hand breaks contact with the grip it grabs the base of the magazine, removing it as the arms moves to the spare magazine location. Just a small piece of insurance as the day you don't want it, the mag will jam up and now it becomes a soup sandwich.
