  • This is a fantastic funk tune to learn, with plenty to get stuck into. Be prepared for tight 16th note right hand patterns, in addition to muted ghost strokes with the left hand.

      @@Learnguitarwithcharlie what kind of guitar are you playing? Are you using coil tapping to get that Strat-like sound?

    • @Learnguitarwithcharlie
      @Learnguitarwithcharlie  4 роки тому +1

      @@guitarzilla555 It's a Carvin CT4, not sure that they make them anymore but you're absolutely right - it has a push/pull coil tap which I use a lot for stuff like this. Whilst, you're never going to get a guitar like that sounding exactly like a strat, the coil tap is really useful and helps to thin the sound out a little. It's a fantastic guitar, absolutely love it. Cheers again for checking out the lesson.

    Hey I really liked your video! I'm quite new to guitar and find it difficult to mute the bottom 2 stings, I usually use my thumb which works for the first 2 chords, but its really hard for the sliding bit do you have a recommendation? Thanks

      Hi Jack, thanks so much for getting in touch and great to hear that you liked the lesson. It is tricky to pull off cleanly, I agree. It's actually better to try to be as accurate as you possibly can with your right hand. Really focus on hitting the top four strings as consistently as you can, time after time. Muting will do it to an extent but it won't be as useful as achieving improved accuracy with the right hand. Hope that helps!

    What kind of pickups are those? Are there 12 magnets in each side of the humbucker?

    • @Learnguitarwithcharlie
      @Learnguitarwithcharlie  3 роки тому

      Not sure which pickups they are - I think they're just the standard ones from Carvin. They're nothing custom, just standard. I probably have the coil-tap on for most of the lesson.

    Can u play this one on an acoustic?

    • @Learnguitarwithcharlie
      @Learnguitarwithcharlie  3 роки тому +1

      You could probably manage it if you had a double cutaway. Otherwise, access to the 13th fret could be a bit tricky.

    Overcompress your guitar tone and rush through motown and funk chord progressions? Got it.
