Its a Grestch Electromatic flI bought in 2008. I forget the model, and I believe the new equivalent has a different name, but it cost about £300 back then, if that helps
@@andycrowley Yeah that's very handy. It looks like the current version is going for around £450. Luckily that's the kind of money I've got to spend. Thanks for your help and keep up the good work. 👍
Best lesson on this song ever. My problem is that I always played my A with one finger. So now I have to try and play it the proper way with my fat fingers LOL.
Btw on the recording the instruments are tuned down almost a full step. Kind of annoying if you ask me but probably benefits the singer in some ways lowers his range
Attentive Chap Actually, it is somewhere in the middle of standard tuning and Eb. That's a half step difference, not a whole step. So it's tuned down about a quarter step.
Perfect tutorial Andy, only thing you missed was the cute little lead lick that plays between the bridge and the verse. Other than that spot on mate, well done!
The GMaj7 on the chorus sounds great until the melody is added. Lennon sings a C# at the end of the word Ride (rye-high-hide) and C# clashes with a GMaj7. C# works against a GMaj7b5 but a GMaj7b5 is one ugly chord. I always see it written as GMaj7 in tabs and sheet music but wonder if the Beatles were actually playing a different chord there.
Dude, For the most part, I enjoy your videos. However, on this one you dropped the ball. How can you not include the small turnaround in this vid? Very disappointing!
Best guitar tutorials on the Internet!
+PieFlavouredPii Thanks buddy, all the best with your playing! 🎸
I completely agree
Keep up the good work Andy. It's the best guitar lesson that I enjoyed watching

Sounds like the Big Ben clockwork in the beginning! :) And i play this song from G Am and so on!
If (and it was) originally on a 12 st RIC, get (or borrow) one!
REALLY GOOD TUTORIAL'S LESSON! JUST A DOUBT ABOUT LAST CHORD, IT'S ONLY A OR A/Asus2
Excellent lesson! Could only have been improved if you'd added in the little solo turnaround instead of the low E thrash build up! Thank you!
Good Stuff 👍

Thanks for the vid. I am trying to watch a new video of yours everyday. I like the blues song "im the one" by Danzig..if you could do that one.

What model of gretsch is your guitar?
I think it’s a Duo Jet
Play the original version. The tuning is slightly off of standard. It's a little flat! Not quite 1/2 step down. Kinda wonky!
Thenk you.
Good
Spot on about the cheeky giraffe.
Can u show your amp settings

What bloody guitar brand is that???Andy
which level ?
You’re missing the hardest part of the main riff, which is the timing
wow

When Maroon 5 did it at the Beatle tribute show they tuned down a half step the way the Beatles recorded it

Hey Andy, just wondering if you could make a tutorial on Sex on Fire by kings of Leon?
simple as that
Not a expert, but might sound more like the track tuning to 429 Hz
Timing is out !!!
