i just realized that this is the first video i saw of your channel. years ago i was searching for videos of northface product in vietnam when i stumbled upon this video. i am currently binge watching your TWC All videos (filmed chronological order).
I’ve purchased products from TNF in the US and in Vietnam. Some items bought in Vietnam are 100% undistinguishable from the US counterpart while some are of a lower quality.
Hi again. I found it’s usually always fake in Vietnam. Even in the ‘good looking’ stores. We once asked a shop assistant to tell us honestly, while looking at a jacket, “is this real North Face?”. She was honest and shook her head no. We got the jacket though, it is water proof, but to the point of being totally unbreathable. Saves me from the rain, but I end up soaking in sweat instead! One way to tell fake North Face (not always though), is if the embroidered lettering has a single thread going from one letter to the next. Real NF doesn’t.
I don't mind if it's real or not at this price if the quality is good enough. Really hard to find that right balance of waterproof and ventilated.. Thankfully these jackets have ventilation zippers under the arms in case we need them :) Interesting observation about the embroidering. That makes sense and I'm pretty sure I've seen that before..
Funny story for your viewers, at a Taiwanese night market, they were yelling out bra’s for $100 NT, wife thought it was a great deal and got some until checkout time, it was $100 per cup.
The armor shirts, I also bought 2 but for $3 each. Originally he wanted 3.50$/each. The jackets you got for $22/each... I made the rookie/amateur move by also buying it for $21.5. I wasn't prepared for the cold weather and the rain. I also know if there were shops around my hotel and wasn't sure how far it was from the first shop I went. I didn't want to risk it, but there were shops around my hotel and when I showed them the jacket I was wearing, they told me 300-350,000 which is like $15. If they offer you a price, chances are they'll still make a decent profit at half the price. I also bought a backpack and shoes for 400,000 (17$) each.
i bought a beats earphone in hong kong. i haggled hard, i thought i ended up up winning. but it started falling apart the next day, lol. but it's still interesting. if those stuff holds up, it's all good and it's a bargain. I've bought some north face hiking socks in kathmandu during my trek in the himalayas, and a northface waterproof pants, man they held up pretty well, was kinda wary if they were knockoffs. i still use that north face hiking socks to this day coz they provide so much support and cushion.
I used to play a lot of chess, go and shogi locally at clubs here and online. Not chinese chess though. But I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find a site you can play the game online. Every similar boardgame has multiple sites you can play on. Good luck with beating your inlaws!
Oh no, I saw the tags in your video, these are not original items, and they tend to be unreasonably cheap (got plenty of those in my country as well). I am personally against buying pirated goods :( but if they are at a decent quality, at least it is a good buy for you and Thuong!
You don't need to go to vietnam for deals like this i think. I noticed one of your things has the same lable as my aliexpress 10 dollar cycling clothes :D
It's just that Japan dumpling system makes things too expensive even without the tax. You guys should visit Gotemba sometimes, it has more reasonable price and brand like Nike, Adidas, and other sport shoe is made in Vietnam :)
We've been in that area for when we hiked fuji, but no shopping. We've actually got a big outlet retailer near us at nagashima. Haven't been yet though.

Thanks for sharing! How are you items holding up years later?

Pls reply me ... thank you

I'm in Hanoi rn and tempted to get some of this kinda stuff. Your items still holding up well?
Haven't had any issues with anything :)
Ah.. that's Chinese chess. it's a little similar with chess, pawns, knights, towers, bishops and cannons.

Great video as always. I always stock up when I go to Vietnam. Japan is just too expensive.

One of my favs.. Might try and wear it to work one of these days..
you could always check out collin abroadcast channel. he goes around asia to markets and try to get lower prices.
I'm really bad at bartering, but thankfully Thuong was really good.. I'll have to film it next time..

They made in the same factory as the authentic item. Using the same worker and source materials.
Umm I will go with team green ... Though I don't like that colour but that jacket look surprisingly good.
I was really surprised by the quality as well. Won't know for sure until we put it to the test over some time though..
Two Wheel Cruise If it's from the Vietnam .. I am sure you gonna have pretty great time wearing it .. Vietnam's fabric is really something.
Still too hot now, but excited to use these in the Fall :)
Thuong chan going full aero on her mamachari at the end there
Good one Cruise
Thanks!

I got a fake shoulder bag it’s still good though
"Waist Pouch" ?? Do American's not call it a Fanny pack?
Haha, we do, but my audience is more international, so I try to use easier to understand words where I can
how did Thuong learn Japan?
Japanese? She went to language school and worked in Japan
Mate, you got done
i prefer going to GU instead of uniqlo when shopping in Japan :P
It is a bit cheaper 🙂 I haven't been to either in years lol
How about those stuff toys behind you? 🤣😅
One is Thuong's, and one from a raffle :)
おはようございます Hope you and your wife are doing better. Just remember you have to have storage...in your apartment for all that stuff. LOL
Thanks! Yep, lots of space in the apartment, but just me here for a while 🙁
Lets be clear. It's a FANNY PACK!
