Similarly as others mentioned this mod does not work on the newer sold models. The back keypad as newer part that blocks the connection

The Newer model has a different numberpad that seems to block the nfc chip completely when inside the watch any ideas?

I haven't seen that one yet. I have no idea how, even with a 6mm nfc tag, that will still be difficult.

May I know what is the ideal placement of an NFC tag on an AE 1000, and an A168 please? I placed an NFC tag on the back of the watch and it seems to be an interfierence so I cannot read the tag

I haven't tried on an AE1000 and A168. But the best possible position is the inner side of the watch case, but not behind any metal.
