Perfect timing! I had a C5 Corvette with a viofo a 129 duo installed. Sold it with the car. I bought a c7.5 a7 2 days ago and was about to buy another one and install it. Perfect timing on the guide
One thing I'd like to add that applies to all vehicles. Once you decide which fuses you're going to use you need to remove the fuses and then retest with the circuit tester to see what side of the fuse is hot. This is important because when you install the fuse tap it is designed to flow the voltage in one side through the fuse and then out to your source. Basically, once you determine what side of your fuse panel is hot you install the t tap so that the wire side is opposite from hot side of the fuse socket. This allows the voltage to pass through the fuse. If you flip the t-tap around the voltage never passes through the fuse and goes directly to the device. That pretty much eliminates having a fuse in the first place.
Thank you VERY MUCH for the thorough installation and review. I bought the 2-channel for my 2017 C7.5 S6 and have been trying to install it this weekend. That said, my experience is different than yours and I just want to give everyone a heads up to check out your car before you order fuse taps and start installing. #1 My passenger side fuse panel has ZERO ACC/"switched" fuses. They are all 100% on all the time. Even the 2 free slots where there are no fuses and there are metal connectors for fuses, nothing is switched. OK, so I'll just run everything to the driver's side right? #2 while I have an entire bank of switched/ACC fuses on the drivers side, they're all the SMALLER fuse type, so the taps I bought don't fit and I need to order the smaller ones. Finally, just a heads up when wiring the power wire down the A-pillars: if you pop off the "AIRBAG" tag on the pillar, you can unscrew the single (T20?) bit that gives you a *little* wiggle room when running that cable. You don't need to completely remove it, but it helps. Finally, that trim piece next to the fuse panel that the OP said to pop out with a screwdriver, you can pull the BOTTOM out towards you (it's just a clip) and then the entire trim piece easily removes and gives you room to do your thing. Good luck everyone, hope these tips help someone. Ordering new fuse taps on Amazon now and hope to finish the install this week!
2:45 - Good luck with finding where to plug that mini thumb drive into the camera. And it's a CPL (circular polarising) filter, not a lens. It filters the light, not bend the light.
Another awesome video! Camera looks like a good option for an upgrade soon. Love the look of the S6 seats, but the way my bank account is set up......😂
So you initially said you were going to mount the camera in the center, but later it looks like it was moved to the passenger side of the mirror. I'm guessing since this camera has a larger footprint than some others, that is the best place to put it so not to obstruct the drivers view. Is it now a PITA to hit the manual buttons from the drivers seat on the camera?
Not at all. If I didn't feel like re-run the wires of it & the radar detector I'd have put it on the drivers side of the mirror in the same location to have the camera closer to center, but I'm still very happy with it currently
@@AudiC7Owners I ordered my camera and sticker shield. One you placed your camera in the final spot it looks like you used the factory windshield stickers instead of sticker shield. Did sticker shield not work well?
@AudiC7Owners, when you check Live view from your phone, do you see 1-2 seconds video lagging? I just connected my A139 Pro 3 CH today just to test and I noticed the movements I did in front of my 3 cameras were couple seconds past before they were shown on Live view on my cell phone. I wonder if there are some settings somewhere I can change or mine is defective? Any suggestion is very much appreciated. Thanks! SC
@@AudiC7Owners i commented about it being the wrong card. you have to use the "max" not high endurance. did you see that? Viofo lists that card on their website as an incompatible card.
I’m not sure if I’m the only one or not but the audio quality that comes from my cars microphone is pretty poor, I’ll send voice messages through it and listening back they sound very low quality. Wasn’t sure if anyone knew of an upgrade or a solution for this?
Thanks for the video. I have fuses in my car insurance box from 5 amps to 40 amps. Does it matter which one I connect to using Fuse tape. You chose the 5 amp and 10 amp fuse, I mean, could you choose the 40 fuse if it was appropriate?
Great so far! Hasn't budged since install. Camera works great, but on occasion (maybe once every other month) the camera will freeze if it runs too long. I just unplug it & plug it so in every so often & that has done well. They sent me a new canara model that I'll be testing soon as well.
Hello. I have such a dashcam and I can say that I am deeply disappointed, it films well but the problems appear when it enters parking mode. Out of 10 starts, 5-6 I have to reset it from the button because it freezes and doesn't do anything anymore or it tells me it's recording but when I want to see the recordings I can't find anything and I have to go into the application to reset the camera to factory settings , which requires a new configuration, etc. The installation was done exactly as indicated by the manufacturer but in vain, I thought my dashcam had a problem, but after your review I realize that they have a problem. My advice is don't spend your money on something like that, it will fill you with nerves and wasted time, they are like a Trabant with a Mercedes engine.
There are tons of reviews talking about how great this camera is, and I haven't experienced any of the issues you are. We're you using the correct memory card? Did you ask viofo for a firmware update? Their customer support is great, and so far I've not had a single issue other than having to unplug the camera and re-plug on extremely hot days, which is normal for all dash cams.
I had that same problem with this camera. It records good, after a while it will show that it is recording but it wasn't. I am glad i purchase the warranty, I had to get it service twice then on the third time they paid me $195 and sent the camera back to me. By the was I had A139 3 channel, not the pro.
How does this infrared interior camera works? Does have any light that stays always on when it records? Or it’s same as other cameras no lights on when it records?
So for the sticker shield on the back of the camera itself, did that come with it or did you purchase that one separately? Could you potentially just cut one of the included ones and stick it to the back of your camera?
