The Hulk and Thor are both up there at the level of raw power Vision (and in that movie only Vision) had. Put either into Civil War and they'll most likely be on Team Cap. That means rather than Vision mostly staying out of the fight for fear of killing someone, Vision would be very severely occupied with the full extent of his power. Generally, the airport fight would then go similarly, though probably neither Banner nor Odinsson would be subdued. Put both into Civil War and Team Cap wins hard. In fact, they may have real trouble keeping people from getting hurt. The fight would extend for a while because neither can really fly, so Stark et al could try to keep out of swatting distance, but they won't win a fight by staying out of it.

I know right! Marvel does its characters right with the right actors! (Robert Downey Jr. Is my favorite representation of Iron man to this day.) I don't understand how they keep screwing up!
Aside from good writing, my theory is that they try to see the characters as people first, then heroes second (it also helps that they've written these characters lots of times and be consistent with them unlike DC who tends to change the actors/characters a lot - i.e.: we have a lot of Batman movies and every version is different from the last, not that that's a bad thing, but it also means that things won't be consistent). For Marvel, we get to spend time with the characters, learn their likes and dislikes, their struggles and successes, how they interact with others, how they react to different situations, etc. For example: In Civil War when Scarlet Witch tried to move that one guy away, but he ended up exploding near a building filled with people, you immediately saw her reaction to that event. And throughout a good portion of the movie, that event tore her apart to the point that she feared herself. On the other hand, in BvS, when the congress(?) building exploded, Superman barely looked phased... Tons of people instantly died around him, and he couldn't do anything to prevent it even though he had the power to do so if he had foretold that event. In my mind, that guilt would have eaten away at Superman, but I don't recall an instance where that truly, genuinely happened. Yeah, he was regretful, but it didn't feel like much of an impact on him... Sorry this was so long, but that's my two cents. :)
Or just say Marvel writes the secret identity first, as a base, and writes the hero around that. DC writes the hero first... and tacks on the secret identity if they feel like it.

When I was a kid I grew up on Thor as created by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby and I remember being pretty surprised when I read some of the actual Scandinavian mythology out of Baedeckers and saw Thor as a bearded glutton who loved eating and drinking and would get into misadventures like having to disguise himself as a Norse goddess in drag (or at least hidden behind several tons of bridal veils) in order to pretend to marry a giant so he could get his hammer back among other interesting stories, He was quite a character in those accounts. :-) It would be interesting if in this movie they had The Midgard Serpent appearing.

I know right! Marvel does its characters right with the right actors! (Robert Downey Jr. Is my favorite representation of Iron man to this day.) I don't understand how they keep screwing up!

Aside from good writing, my theory is that they try to see the characters as people first, then heroes second (it also helps that they've written these characters lots of times and be consistent with them unlike DC who tends to change the actors/characters a lot - i.e.: we have a lot of Batman movies and every version is different from the last, not that that's a bad thing, but it also means that things won't be consistent).
For Marvel, we get to spend time with the characters, learn their likes and dislikes, their struggles and successes, how they interact with others, how they react to different situations, etc. For example: In Civil War when Scarlet Witch tried to move that one guy away, but he ended up exploding near a building filled with people, you immediately saw her reaction to that event. And throughout a good portion of the movie, that event tore her apart to the point that she feared herself. On the other hand, in BvS, when the congress(?) building exploded, Superman barely looked phased... Tons of people instantly died around him, and he couldn't do anything to prevent it even though he had the power to do so if he had foretold that event. In my mind, that guilt would have eaten away at Superman, but I don't recall an instance where that truly, genuinely happened. Yeah, he was regretful, but it didn't feel like much of an impact on him...
Sorry this was so long, but that's my two cents. :)
Or just say Marvel writes the secret identity first, as a base, and writes the hero around that. DC writes the hero first... and tacks on the secret identity if they feel like it.

When I was a kid I grew up on Thor as created by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby and I remember being pretty surprised when I read some of the actual Scandinavian mythology out of Baedeckers and saw Thor as a bearded glutton who loved eating and drinking and would get into misadventures like having to disguise himself as a Norse goddess in drag (or at least hidden behind several tons of bridal veils)
in order to pretend to marry a giant so he could get his hammer back among other interesting stories,
He was quite a character in those accounts. :-)
