- In light of recent events, I wanted to show my solidarity with Ukraine by playing Reinhold Glière's "Romance" for Violin and Piano Op. 3.

Born in Kiev in 1875 (at the time part of the Russian Empire, now belongs to Ukraine), Glière embodies multiple cultures because of his polish, ukrainian and german descent. #StandWithUkraine 🇺🇦

Incredible Sumina! I saw you're in Cardiff. I'm a jazz violinist and such a big fan of you. I don't have anywhere near the following you do but it would be amazing to collab on something with you if you're interested. I can be anywhere in Cardiff at any time.
Gliere wrote some lovely music for the double bass too, including the Prelude and Scherzo (I like Furtok’s video) and Intermezzo and Tarantella (I like Mikyung Sung).
But the beginning of this piece you’re playing sounds almost exactly like the 2nd movement of Koussevitzky’s double bass concerto. Some thought Gliere actually wrote much of it, or he at least helped with orchestration.

Just one general statement ,not personal in any way:
Solidarity with humanity must not be selective, otherwise it turns into some form of hypocrisy.
Stand up for justice firmly and not according to what some media channel decides to indoctrinate.
a good example is iraq and syria which are regarded as terrorist hubs in western media, yet millions of innocents were victims of those wars in one way or another and no one cared as much.
