Exploring Dynamics and Color with Simon Fischer's 'Tone' | for violin & viola

- One of the best tools for expanding your knowledge and arsenal of dynamics and tone colors on violin or viola. The most overlooked variable is a deep study of contact (or sounding) points. In this video I take a few examples from Simon Fischer's book 'Tone' and talk about many of the elements that can impact tone production (ie - sounding point, bow weight, bow speed, articulation, bow distribution, etc) and what to pay attention to as you explore the sound possibilities on your instrument.
In the video I say "sounding point" which means the same as "contact point"

Excellent class Inna. Wonderful content for us who are learning this beautiful instrument that is the violin!! Congratulations on your work and may God bless and enlighten you always👏🏾👏🏾😁😁
Thank you very much for watching as always!
❤Great video, Inna. I had the book for quite a while (and even the DVD), but I did not use it much because I felt it was sooo dry!😅 Thank you for giving us the motivation to do these exercises and may be apply them directly to the repertoire in order to draw more benefit.
There's a DVD?? Geez somehow I never got one of those. I also feel like these are too dry, especially on their own. This is why my thought is to reverse engineer it - choose the repertoire first.
Excellent video, Inna!! I enjoyed re-examining sounding point ideas along with other variables. It sometimes feels overwhelming, but I like the way the book provides clear instruction to help limit the amount of variables we consider in each exercise. Thank you for this video!
Yes, I like that about the book too!
This is a great discussion of tools! Thank you for all of your thoughts!
Thanks very much for watching, as always!
