    Somewhere I read...
"..that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men."
And, "..my kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight.."
And in another place "Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above.."
And again, "No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life..."

Really? If you are suggesting that Jesus was telling us to not get involved in the matters of this world, then why did Jesus give us the Great Commission to preach the Gospel to the whole world? Why do that or anything helpful to love our neighbors? Just forget them and be separate, right? It is amazing to me how people use the Bible to justify inaction while this world falls apart and evil men run for office with a vision for silencing Christians, calling the Bible "hate" and wishing to outlaw our freedom to fulfill the Great Commission, and with desires to hurt children with irreversible destructive lifestyle choices without any parental knowledge. Elections have consequences that affect us all.

No, I am not grasping at straws. You simply want to hear what you want to hear and nothing else, even when it is plain as day in Scripture that we are told by God to be good stewards of what He has given us. Paul certainly had no problem mentioning his Roman Citizenship in Acts 16 and 22 when it served to keep him out of jail and able to have his cause heard openly. Why didn't he just accept being jailed and beaten and his citizenship rights violated? According to you Paul was wrong and should have done nothing.
Fact is that you and other Christians still live in a society full of people and we of all people as Christians are to be good stewards to one another. Responsibility to others when we can have a positive impact is part of loving your neighbor as yourself.
For instance, if many people in your neighborhood didn't like you so they were gong to vote for the HOA to put something right in front of your house that kills it value and hurts you financially, then you'd wake up and get involved with "worldly" matters real quick, wouldn't you? And if appealed to your friends in the neighborhood to vote in your favor and they said they won't vote at all to stop what evil people are trying to do to you because that is being worldly and they rather not get involved, you'd find out real quick they weren't real friends to begin with.
Your inaction when done collectively by enough Christians fails to show any concern for your fellow man, including your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who have the discernment to go vote.

Mustafa, I think you know the answer to your own question. There is usually a clear distinction between candidates. Some stand more for Biblical values while others stand more for worldly values. We are not electing our next pastor or Bible study teacher, but a public official, so strict adherence to our denominational views should not be cause to eliminate our support for a good candidate. And let me add this thought here beyond what I said in my video... If there is no distinction at all and the candidates are purely for worldly value and have no redeeming Christian values at all, then not voting seems appropriate. Admittedly, I didn't take that situation into account while recording this video regarding Independence Day because that practically is never the case here in the USA.

I believe this is a personal choice which no one should tell us what or what not to do. Years ago, I voted for a famous president because he seemed like a nice, church going man with a devoted family and was against abortion…instant vote. However, during his term…I won’t discuss who he was and what incident occurred…but he was considered to be very involved in it…I got so upset that this happened, as I felt fooled. I did vote again for another man who became president and at work a rebellious unbeliever questioned me how could I vote for such a man with me being a Christian. I shared he was for bringing Christian’s, our rights back and against abortion, though being not very political, I didn’t know his full views on abortion, which I should have done before I voted. Now we have it come again. Due to my commitment to my own conscience, I cannot vote for due to my abortion beliefs, which they are being compromised by this one candidate. The Word says if it’s a sin to your brother, then so be it…I apologize for not quoting the verse correctly, but 1 of my closest friends, a true believer, got upset with me several years ago and he said by me not voting, I gave a vote to the other candidate. I kept silent…but I felt convicted if I had voted for this person due to it was a sin for me. And I believe based on The Word, God decides who will be in charge wherever, whatever…not man. John the Baptist said nothing is given man except by God. Another point to ponder…no where in the New Testament did any believer get into politics, else did the disciples while Stephen watched him getting stoned to death…shout anything or run to officials to complain or where do you ever see Paul or anyone else voice their political stance. Paul did share he was Roman citizen, but that was so he could have his right to speak, rather then silence him. Jesus Himself stood in front of Pilate and easily could have said whatever He wanted and He did. My kingdom is not of this world and we know the government is upon His shoulders. We as believers have to personally chose what we do at every turn. I don’t have all the answers to such a questionable debate. But my trust is in The Lord God who controls the whole universe….period. Thank you for allowing me to share. Much love and blessings to all of you and those in your hearts, ✝❤🛐🙌🐑👏🏼⚓🗡🛡🐏🇺🇸🇮🇱❤ Maranatha, Amen!!!

Okay, I hear you, but regarding your reference to Paul and others not speaking out on politics. They lived under the Roman Empire. They had no say or vote in who was Emperor much less who was Roman governor over a region. And like you pointed out Paul did use his Roman citizenship to take advantage of his right to be heard and speak openly. So, today one of the ways we use that right as US citizens is to have our voice not only heard, but count, at the ballot box.

That is not an appropriate application of that passage and a false accusation on top of that. That was God's warning Israel not to appoint a King like others. But after the fact they wanted it so, God anointed Saul as their King, followed by David and Solomon, both kings who wrote Scripture. God's warning was right evident by all the evil kings that would lead Israel into darkness that followed recorded in Scripture, but God allowed it and God never instructed them to do away with that system of Kings. In fact, Jesus is King of kings and Lord of Lords who will reign forever and ever as a King over all the earth. In the meantime, the USA is NOT ruled by a king, but by presidents, senators, congress, legislators at the national level, state level, county and districts. Some of them will not bow to Jesus, the King of kings. We need to vote in people who will, or at least are the strongest supporters of the citizens who do.

You asked for thoughts, so here goes:
    1. Jesus said in John 18:36 "my kingdom is not of this world" and goes on to explain that if it was, then his followers would be fighting to rescue Him. His approach to the authoritarian and overbearing government of the day was not revolution, anarchy, or even influence. The disciples carried on in this vein; the only time they had run-ins with the government it was not to protect their brothers or legislate morality, but merely to acknowledge that they were told not to preach Jesus but they were going to do it anyway. The apostles taught us to pray for authority and honor them (1 Timothy 2:1-2; 1 Peter 2:17) but never to participate in government or lobby for change.
    2. You make a heavy assumption that "voting" is even legitimate. After years of recounts and dead names showing up on ballots, I am surprised that anyone still has faith in such a flawed and corrupt system. "Be not conformed to this world" includes entertainment, systems of government, and anything else that spiritual Babylon conjures up.
    3. (related to 1) "Democracy" is unbiblical. In the OT, God established theocratic government until His people wanted a king. He warned them against that through Samuel, but they eventually got their wish. Then in the NT, we live under a theocracy again (or possibly termed a monarchy with Jesus Christ as King). The idea of "democracy" came from the pagan Greeks (it's actually the name of a goddess) and is found to be promoted nowhere in the Bible.
In Psalm 82, God judges the authorities over the nations for not fulfilling their responsibilities. This shows us that those in authority are not to be governed "by the people, for the people" but by God alone, who establishes them (Romans 13:1)
    4. The people of God are not to seek justice through the halls of government against each other, but through the administration of the church (1 Corinthians 6). The church represents the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, not the USA or any other country.
    5. The United States of America was founded in rebellion. This is equivalent with witchcraft (1 Samuel 15:23). Were the people of the colonies oppressed? Sure - but if their rebellion was justified, how much more the oppressed Christians under Nero (and others)? Yet they were never told to revolt but to honor the king. The obvious roots in Freemasonry (Luciferianism) throughout the group called the "founding fathers" shows that from the beginning, the organization of this country was a mixture of paganism and proto-JudeoChristian morals, not unlike the Roman Catholic Church. It was never a nation under the One True God - Jesus Christ.

    • @samliedtke
      @samliedtke 3 місяці тому +3

      6. I forgot one - how is support of legislated morality, under the idea of loving others, any different than the "7 Mountain Mandate" taught by those in the New Apostolic Reformation? In this worldview, we are to manifest the Kingdom of God on earth now through controlling media, education, government, etc in order to pave the way for the return of Christ.

    • @faithonfireministries
      @faithonfireministries  3 місяці тому +1

On your first comment, it is easy to quote some Bible verses out of context to justify inaction, but unfortunately inaction does result in the enemy gaining more and more ground here to take away our freedom to preach the Bible. Many want it outlawed as hate speech. Jesus's Kingdom is not of this world. Yes He said that, but He also said to go preach the Gospel all over the world to everyone. So, clearly Jesus is concerned about the living in this fallen world.
As far as legitimacy. I know if you don't vote, that is legitimately one less vote from a Christian.
Democracy is not unbiblical and is better than any alternative until Christ returns and reigns. The reason being led by Jesus Christ is great, but no man should be in charge and single handedly make every rule should be obvious over history. Without checks and balances to one's power, greed and corruption and evil of man is off the charts! We will never have to worry about that with a perfect Holy and righteous God and Savior who reigns perfectly.
On your 4th comment, that verse reference you are talking about is unrelated to government. It is about two Christians, one having sinned against the other, finding the solution and justice to their problem from within the church, not in secular courts of law. What does that have to do with laws enacted by elected officials that may outlaw churches, call the Bible hate speech, and worse regarding Christians?
5th comment. The presence of wicked men, false teachers, etc. in our country's past in no way indicates this nation was not founded by Godly and Biblical principals. That is a fact. There are selfish unsaved wicked people in your local church, no doubt. Should we shut down the church because of them? No. God blessed this nation and it went from nothing to a massively blessed superpower in the world in record time.
6th comment about the 7 mountain mandate and NAR is a ridiculous association to make against me. I am premillennial, so I believe in the literal return of Christ for a literal 1000 year reign of Christ, not a postmillennial Christian Nationalist. It is simply very evident that we have distinct choices before our eyes every election about the vision and direction politicians say they want to take this country. The contrast between the opposing candidates is only rarely not seen. Usually it is stark and obvious which one will support Biblical principals and religious freedom and which one is against Christians and wants to normalize sinful acts.
Proverbs 14: 34 says, "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."

Debbe, that is not analogous to what I am saying. My video has nothing to do with abusing Scripture to enforce tyranny, but exactly the opposite of that, meant to prevent tyranny. Love thy neighbor as thyself like any Scripture can be taken out of context but that does not mean my use and explanation of it is wrong. When it comes to voting it is easily demonstrated that when Christians don't vote, tyrants come to power and those Christians cared so little for their neighbors that they selfishly didn't vote against the tyrants and enemies of freedom.
So, the fact that some people have misapplied that verse to control the masses does not negate a person like me applying it correctly and speaking of the negative outcomes to our freedom and ability to openly preach the Gospel and protect our children against perverts if Christians don't vote and just continue to hand victories over to those who want to call good evil and evil good.

We should be attendung town halls, getting involved in campaigns, maybe going door to door, memorizing parts or maybe all of the constitution and bill of rights, and what about encouraging military service for our children? After all, those who've secured freedom for us today did all those things. They must have been following the commandments.
I haven't done any of the above which means I must not love the Lord with all my mind, soul, and strength and my neighbor as myself.

Why are you trying to justify sitting by and doing nothing and allowing that agenda to become reality? Why sit by and allow wicked people to rule the day and indoctrinate our children into destructive life altering decisions without parental knowledge?
Don't be ignorant to think inaction doesn't have repercussions on others. It does! And collectively, inaction of many will allow evil to prevail and become law. Many families have had children who grew up without a dad because he died fighting for our freedom in this country. We owe it to them and their children to fight at the ballot box to maintain what their loved ones died for.
And not surprisingly, you exaggerated my message in a sad attempt to justify your inaction by including a lot of extra activities I never mentioned in my video. It does not require all that to simply be informed as to what candidates stand for and then go vote for the one who best upholds Biblical values. Only in rare instances are there opposing candidates that offer no distinct difference between their visions for the future.

Brian, you are incredibly gifted and knowledgeable, and I have learned much from your ministry. Yet I must say that you dropped the ball on this one. You're basing your conclusion on your own intellect. The scriptures that you mentioned do not address any of the issues that you mentioned. You eisogeted your interpretation into those two precious commandments. The world is evil and will always be evil no matter how anyone votes. That's why God will destroy it. Our calling as believers is to be lights in this world. We are witnesses of Christ in word and deed. We are not called to change the world or make it a better place, but to Love God with all our hearts minds and souls and Love our neighbors as ourselves in that people will see our lights and desire Christ for themselves. Galatians chapter 1 verse 4. 2nd Timothy chapter 2-verse 4 gives us an understanding of God's purpose and His purpose for us. We bring our children up in the Lord. The world can't teach us or our children spiritual things. Jesus meant what He said when He said that His Kingdom is not this world, and in John chapter 17, He said that His disciples are not of the world. It's not a sin to vote, and it is not a sin not to vote. It is a sin to base your core beliefs on anything that is contrary to what the bible teaches. To true believers, there is no such thing as a lesser evil. Evil is evil! God takes care of His own. Obey the laws of the land, yet be ye separate, for you are called out for the purposes of God, not any worldly society! Food for thought. I stand to be corrected!⁵⁶

One must consider what it means to love God and love your neighbor. Is it not eisegeting the text to do that, and apply that in what is easily measurable ways. This country would look very different if since 30 years ago Christians were not sitting at home thinking they are so great and righteous for not getting involved and voting. Their inaction had negative consequences we live with today. Elections have real measurable results that impact others. There is evil within that will run for office, and those who will go vote for evil. They want to get your kids to make destructive decisions, mess up their minds, undermine their Christian parent's values, call the Bible "hate" and persecute Christians for expressing their faith. They are so evil they want to convince kids to make life altering irreversible decisions without any parental involvement or knowledge. To sit by, not be informed on the vision for candidates and not voting is to allow that evil to prevail. There is a simple way to love and serve our neighbors well. Learn the positions of candidates. Go vote for the ones who best upholds Biblical values and if you don't win a given election, at least you did your part. If you do win, then you stood against evil and thwarted it, a blessing to everyone around you.
And if you want to justify not doing that because of separating ourselves from a worldly place and Jesus' Kingdom is not of this world, as you pointed out, then why do anything else here that is good to love and serve the Lord and others? Why do ministry at all in a worldly place? That should be obvious. We do it as a servant of Jesus and to bring His light into a dark world, introducing people to the Savior, even though His Kingdom is not of this world.
If enough Christians remain inactive in the political process, then our right to share the Gospel with our neighbors will eventually be outlawed. To sit by and allow that... how is that loving our neighbor? That is what people do who have no regard for their neighbors, not caring for them at all. And that evil I mentioned... that is the direction of this country. We can all do something very simple to prevent that. Go vote for the candidate that upholds Biblical values. There is usually one! Maybe not in every instance but that would be very rare. I've been voting since the Presidential election of 1992 and every time at both the national, state and local level, there always seemed to be opposing candidates that painted a very distinctly different vision for the future they want bring about.

Brian, I don't mean to sound critical of you, and especially I don't want to sound "holier than thou", but regarding your comment near the end, "...some idiot pastor...", I often used the word, "idiot" in the past, but I began to feel very convicted, especially in light of Matthew 5:22, "but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."
I pretty much have eliminated words such as 'fool', 'idiot', 'moron' from my vocabulary, and especially when referring to someone I consider to be a brother/sister in Christ. If the Holy Spirit is indwelling an individual, I have a big problem calling that person a 'fool' when their hearts are being directed by Him. Well, that's just me, and I'm not trying to impose my thinking on you or anyone else. But just some food for thought.
And I fully understand why you use that word, when you cannot fathom a person's thinking/logic. I also shake my head in disbelief at times over how someone, especially a believer, can think a certain way. I'm not at all saying that thought process is wrong. Just that using those types of words to describe that individual is going to far, for me personally.

    • @faithonfireministries
      @faithonfireministries  3 місяці тому +1

You said saying idiot is the same as saying fool. Okay, but when we quote God's Word in Psalm 14 or 53 we are calling people fools who don't believe in God because that is precisely what the Scripture says. So, clearly there is a manner in which it is appropriate to use the word fool, or one like it such as idiot. The verse I think you are referencing is Matthew 22: 5 and it begins (in the KJV) by saying those who are angry with a brother *without a cause* is in danger of judgement. In modern bibles it drops the "without a cause" part as though just being angry is a sin despite the Bible also speaking of a righteous anger, so they corrupted that text.
Then the verse continues in relationship to that sort of wrong and unrighteous anger and warns about acting out on that by calling a brother raca (worthless) or fool (idiot). Then the next verses clearly indicate this is regarding an interaction with a specific person and has nothing to do about using these words in a general way such as in Psalm 14 and 53 towards people of certain misguided belief that opposes God.
So, yes you are right it would be playing it safe to never call anybody worthless or fool or idiot and I am not against you or anyone with that conviction. However, I don't believe that verse is relevant to how I used "idiot" in this video. I think "idiot" and "unqualified" are appropriate words to describe the type of person in the role of pastor who exhibits zero understanding of one of the most basic and simple and clear commandments of Jesus (love thy neighbor). They encourage Christians not to vote and yet how could they be so careless and ignorant to the fact that Christians not voting helps to result in electing leaders who will push new laws that directly come back to affect each one of us and our children negatively?

I do own property and am raising a family in Orlando, Florida. This is why I understand that election results do in fact impact all of us for good or for worse. Inaction by Christians curses other Christians. I am lucky to live in a state with a great governor who protects families, is a Christian and legislates accordingly. Things could have been drastically different over the last 5 years though. In Ron DeSantis' re-election he won by a staggering 20% lead which is practically unheard of. However, Floridians had 4 years to see him in action. In his first election when not many people knew about him he almost tied the opposition, but barely winning and that clown he barely beat was a democrat with a total different vision for the future of Florida and later revealed as a drug addict. Certainly, there were some Christians in Florida that didn't vote. Imagine if more Christians didn't vote and the other guy won?
When the pandemic hit, rather than our kids staying in school and rather than businesses closed like democrats and blue states wanted for so long, DeSantis kept it all going in Florida including going to church. That other guy who lost the election to him would have certainly followed the democrat lead and shut down everything for a long time, destroying lives and small businesses and that includes closing down Christian churches.
In all this, can you explain to me how Christians not voting is not harmful to their neighbors?

Couple things. Elections and your church situation. 1. Elections: In the upcoming election there will be local, state and federal people to vote for. I recommend spending some time to know the positions and vision of the candidates and voting for the ones that best uphold Biblical values and our continued freedom to express them, and will not be for indoctrinating our kids into wicked lifestyles choices. We must also remember we are not voting for a pastor or a person to win the award of best Christian in 2024. You can leave a church with a bad pastor but it is much harder if not impossible to leave being under the law of wicked political leaders who take away our rights and take our money via taxes and spends it to financially support people choosing evil decisions and on curricula that indoctrinate our kids.
And we must not get greedy and think we need all or nothing in a candidate. The left is patient to vote for candidates that inch forward their progressive leftist agenda against Godliness over time and over many elections. We must be willing to vote for those who inch our way back in the direction of Godliness. And we must not get cynical and think our vote is wasted. I hear that a lot, but get over it. Just go vote anyway. I think the other side likes Christians being cynical and not voting against them, and I also think they track those with a history of not voting and they insert election ballots voting in their names. If that is happening in your area, one way to stop the cycle of being used by them is to start voting in each election.
      2. Your church situation. I mean this in all due respect... Don't waste your time trying to convince a Reformed pastor that he is doctrinally wrong. He is not just a cult member but a cult leader. Just find another church. Here is what could happen because it has happened many times before to others in your position. No matter how nicely and privately it is presented you will become his enemy and a threat to his position. He will want you to leave anyway and not be a "troublemaker." He will likely hold meetings with people you know behind your back and paint you as a sinful heretic that needs to repent and short of that they should have nothing to do with you. He may engage in "church discipline" and rebuke you before the entire church and ask you to leave. I've seen this and heard testimonies of this far too many times. Just leave. Most of the time reformed pastors are narcissists. Their theology attracts such people.

I do think we have an obligation to do whatever we can to better the interests of society, and that would mean to vote in most cases. However, I think we have to be very careful about whom we support. If we look at politics through the lens of Scripture, we should not be voting for someone who routinely violates the 7th Commandment by committing adultery, or the 9th Commandment by bearing false witness against others. A president leads by example as well as by directive, and we don't want to destroy public morality by supporting someone who himself is wicked and immoral. In some cases we may need to vote for a third party candidate whose character and conduct accords with our beliefs.

Their positions and ideology will last long beyond their time in office and their impact will affect our future and our children positively or negatively. We need to vote for people who will retain our freedom of speech and not call the Bible and the preaching of it hate speech. We need to vote for people who don't want to make a social experiment out of our children and try to remove the influence and involvement of parents. When Christians don't vote, we will get more and more of all the negative results our parent's could not foresee even happening in America that we face today. Let's say there are two candidates, one for lowering taxes and staying out of wars, and the other for higher taxes and never saw a war they didn't want to get involved in. Not voting for the first candidate is by default supporting the second candidate, higher taxes and war.
By the way, Christians can learn from the patience and tactics of leftist liberals. Their extreme leftists on their side always support the most left candidate but ultimately will settle for any leftist candidate and they will vote. They are willing to be patient and inch forward (called progressivism) rather than wanting all or nothing for their cause. Christians are often impatient and unwilling to inch forward to their cause, but only want all or nothing. They want a pristine angel and devout Christian running for office or they don't vote. They choose to do nothing, not vote and they help hand victories to the left which keeps progressing forward, inch by inch over time and further away from Biblical principals, as they erode our society, our wealth, our values, and calling the Bible hate speech and canceling the voice of the opposition.
