it would be great if eventually, you could expand the dry mix to other common species of birds or smaller species like Cockatiels/love birds? Only if you have the capacity ofcourse, thankyou!!
The brain and the gut connection is so strong for birds. I've had parrots in the past and wish this information was available way back in the day. Your mix is just visually astounding. I have chickens now and see how much happier they are with choices in food.❤️
Thank you! Thank you! For covering this for all age age ranges!! Kids you can find away to feed your birds diversity! I'm so excited for what you have done!! Mentioning weighing their birds it's so important. Birds try to cover their dietary needs over time. They can't do it all in one day. Congratulations!!!🎉🎉🎉
I am so excited for you guys and for my green wing to try your dry mix! I wanted to make a batch of my own mix when you posted your ingredient video but it was going to cost me just under $500 for everything here in the US and I wasn't sure of the quality of about 25% of the items (many lacked the info on whether or not they were freeze dried or were only available dehydrated). Even though the batch would have lasted months, I just couldn't afford that upfront cost so I continued my fresh veg mix (I follow birdtricks' seasonal feeding system). I can't believe how affordable you've made your bag of dry mix that I bought two! And the shipping to New Mexico is actually super affordable. I can't wait for my bird to try it. Thank you guys for not only giving your birds a great life and diet, but also giving the rest of us an adorable, safe, and nutritious food option. It's shocking that it's 2022 and most commercial bird food is still worthless. You guys rule, thank you!
Mine took almost 1 year to convert to a fresh food and cold press pelleted diet. She was on seeds for years and our other macaw took few months, she was on a diet of seeds and tortillas the first few years of her life and her feathers looked awful, now her feathers and mood have improved GREATLY!
This is so awesome!! FINALLY a worldwide shipping food mix! I love how you touched on all the warnings and precautions. I was asleep for the launch lol but will definitely aim to get one of these in the future!
I have one bird who took to it straight away a GCC, he's super hormonal but no where as aggressive as he usually is. My concern is my Indian ringneck (who's normally food driven) she does not seem to like it. I'm putting a couple of spoon fulls in with her topps hoping her taste will change. And whilst I'm thinking i need to buy more. Its a good buy for all species of bird❤ Thank you and mummy human for making this 5 star product available to us. Quick update.. The ringneck is loving it too now 😍
So cool!! I've wanted to go all-veggie for a while, but I didn't know if I could keep up with constantly making new chop, and didn't like the idea of leaving it in his bowl all day since it could rot. I didn't even think of dry mix! I'm so glad I found this channel; y'all have taught me a lot (especially about clipping--the free flight videos are beautiful and I'm glad my little guy isn't clipped anymore and is responding well to his harness training)! Keep up the fantastic work, and thank you for making something like this!! Update: It sold out, darn it! Too slow. Hope the next restock is soon lol!
So good to hear that your little guy isn't being clipped anymore! I add cinnamon and oregano to every batch of chop I make since they have antibacterial properties. I leave the chop in his dish for 6 hours and then switch it for more chop. Good luck with your baby!
I’ve just bought some for my Amazon, not just because it’s Mikey and Mia, not just because I’ve been a bit scared to try and create a sort of dry mix, not just because I love trying new things to both of my Birds life. These are all part of it, but a large part of it is how much passion, and compassion you guys show for your birds. I will never do outdoor flight training for many reasons, but if I can have at least half as good a relationship with my bird as you have with your birds I’ll be happy. ,
I’d love to see you expand your mix to different breeds one day, like a mix made for tiny birds. I only have tiny birds and something tells me that a macaw would eat different things than a tiny parakeet or cocktail. If I ever get a bigger bird then I will be well educated at least!
I’ve bought this for my cockatiels and budgies. I already feed something similar that I make up myself. It just costs so much to buy everything separately, so this should work out much cheaper. I’ll probably add some more seeds to this mix as budgies and tiels tend to eat more seeds than larger parrots (that usually eat more nuts instead). The only other thing is that it’s maybe a little fruit heavy for tiny beaks. My flock will likely regulate that themselves as they are not keen on fruit, preferring their vegetables, but the large pieces of fruit could easily be removed if required. Everything in this dry mix is perfectly suitable for tiny beaks. I give my flock a mix of seeds, freeze dried fruit/veggies, herbs, spices and flowers for their evening meal every day (fresh chop given during the day). They love it.
i love watching your videos because i know i cannot get a macaw because of my cats, big dog, and other birds. but i really love the idea of having one. i’m also going to go to college or something when i’m older so i just wouldn’t be able to own one because when i’m away my dad would have to take care of it. i just love macaws so much though and i really want one. i don’t have the funds for one either. kinda of writing this as a reminder to myself lol but still.
woooo!! so excited for this!! I recently transitioned my cockatiels to dry mix in the morning and chop at night with the mix and THEY LOVE IT! i dont even have to trick them into the cage, they go in themselves for their night time feed. GAME CHANGER! didn't think they would. Less hormonal too!
I am literally so excited that you’ve done this. I really wanted this mix for my tiny flock after watching your video about your new dry mix, but was hesitant to spend a pant load of money on something they might not like. Thanks for the tips to get them trying new things, and thank you so much for taking the time to do this. Looking forward to the dry mix arriving 👍🏽
Fantastic! After reading up about parrot nutrition and listening to experts like Jason Crean, I started making up a dry mix very like this for my small flock of cockatiels and budgies, but it really does cost a fortune to buy everything individually. It’s great to see people like yourself taking the initiative and making a mix to sell using this up-to-date knowledge of bird nutrition. I had to stop the video half way through to go buy a bag. 😄 I personally prefer that the nuts are not added in to the main mix just because cockatiels and budgies are not really big nut eaters compared to larger parrots, but think it’s a great idea to sell separate bags of mixed nuts.
I have a conure and kakariki and for nuts I just buy the chopped mixed nut bags in the baking section of the supermarket, it's the ideal size for training treats for birds this size.
My 2 macaw are addicted, any crumbs they leave I save 4 our lovebird who can be hilarious making off with a big bit of something out of it..and omg ur birds well smell awesome after, not to mention the good in it, best food available and they ship to Ireland 🇮🇪 that's huge..tysm guy's
My order of your mix just came in yesterday 😍. My teals are loving the spicy seed mix, my blue crowned conure said "mmmm is good" and is picking out tidbits to eat on top of his house, my own macaw is still investigating. So far all good reaction. I love the look and smell of it my self and I'm impressed on how quick it got here
I’ve ordered 2 large bags as wanted to stock up after you selling out so quickly! I can’t wait for my feathered babies to try it☺️ I love the idea of a mixed nut bag as so expensive to source the all individually even in small quantities! Maybe offer two choices, a chopped nut selection bag and a whole nut selection bag and see which sells best! Thank you for the educating us all on how we can do better!☺️
Looks fantastic! You sold out so fast. You are 5 hours ahead of where I am in Tampa, Fl. Please put a wait list or pre order on your website. I really want to offer this diet to my 7 caiques. In the meantime, congratulations on your success!👏👏👏👍👍👍😁
@@MikeyTheMacaw I think they will love it! Unfortunately, my scarlet macaw and double yellowheaded amazon both came to us as rescues addicted to Zupreem 😫🤣
So exciteeeeeedddddd. I have a black capped lory and I’m getting my first macaw on Monday and so hard to get good mix here in Australia. Shopping now 🙌🙌
Most of the salty people in the comments are just angry they cannot afford it and so do whatever they can to discredit the health benefits of this mix. Quality is costly. That’s just life. This is the best thing (next to fresh produce) available to us. I do have one question, though ! Isn’t there a lot of sugar in this dry mix because of the freeze dried fruit?? How much should a small Amazon (270g) have as these birds are prone to obesity?
So the fruit content in the Mikey and Mia mix is less than 20% of the whole mix, we do also have the Shelby mix which is a very low fruit mix or the make your own range now too.
You should contact them direct if you want that amount. If you buy it in the 350g bags it would cost £1200, I am am sure they could do you a better deal if you bought 15Kg in one go.
Any idea when new stock arrives? Honestly I'm relatively confident in my birds diet and its affordable, but I am curious to see how they take to something like this, which I would absolutely not try to replicate myself due to a lack of nutritional knowledge. I'm also curious, (I'll never do away with chop regardless as fresh is always the best option in my opinion), but is this intended to replace the morning chop or as an extra like pellets or a seed mix?
@@MikeyTheMacaw thanks, that's exactly what I thought, as I said I'll never stop feeding fresh chop. But if it was replacing chop for some birds perhaps dehydration could've been a potential problem there, as I'm guessing not all birds, (much like people) will drink enough to compensate for the lack of moisture in the dried mix, however pellets are already a dry food so really the only difference to my mind would be the added nutritional diversity. Seems like an excellent idea and I look forward to trying a bag with my birds when I get the chance.
Sees well! I ve understood you will ship wordwide ? So also to The Netherlands? Also suitable for a Meyer parrot? I don't ve got one yet but hopefully this year. A good combination with Tops pellets? And chopmix from Birdtricks? Or instead off pelllets? When to offer in the morning or in the evening? Or mix?
@@MikeyTheMacaw Thank you very much to answer my questions. When I got my bird. (Hopefully this spring time) I will definitely make an order!😉 By the way so interesting what you are doing about food issues. Really helping.
Standard international shipping is around 7-10 days, yes cockatiels love it, but we have a small bird mix coming out in a few weeks which would be perfect for them
Quick question. Has any one orderd a bag to Australia and gotten it yet? I have orderd a big bag, and wondering if austrailias fussy border rules will allow this amazing mix in.
Hey. Yes. Many many bags have landed safely in AU, all standard international shipping we have tracked too and are arriving in around 10 working days, economy can take longer, they say up to 60 days but it seems to arrive around 3-4 weeks
Hi I'm very interested in this....I suppose it's ok for Indian ringnecks. She doesn't like pellets and with such a small appetite buying fresh all the time is wasteful, well the dog eats it!! But yes very excited to try your brand. And I think the mix nuts would be a great idea as they are expensive to buy different ones too!! ........ Take my money!!!
Hi could I please ask are these mixes only good for macaws or can they be used with smaller birds like parakeet's? I'm desperately trying to improve my birds diet and this could be perfect. Thank you
This might be a weird question but would you ever do a dry mix without the mealworms? 😅 They creep me out and I don’t feel comfortable feeding them to my bird but would love to feed them the rest of the ingredients.
I would love to buy your stuff but I would have to wait 60 days for a shipping price I could afford because I live in the U.S. Otherwise, it's almost triple the shipping price for it to get it to me in time.
I think this is great........ But and there is always the but, I own and run a parrot sanctuary. Galleon Treasure's Parrot Sanctuary with over two hundred parrots. And yes I feed a pellet food because of the cost. It's not Tops, how affordable could you offer your terrific mix? I go through approximately twenty twenty pound bags a month. With a sanctuary it's always stealing from Peter to pay Paul, same with vet bills etc. Could you design a mix that's affordable for sanctuaries and rescues?
Hey Daniel, pop us an email to info@mikeyandmia.co.uk, I can’t say this will be anywhere near as cheap as pellets, even if we did it as cost and worked for free we would loose money, but, we are always happy to help out rescues so will see what we can do.
when my parents told me I couldn't get a macaw... Spent days looking for colleges that allow macaws for when I go to college soon My limiting factor is the macaw
Hi I'm in the same situation except we recently rescued one and It has to come with me for college/if I move out. Did you find any colleges that work? Thank you!
Im very bummed out you dont ship from within the EU.. If I buy this ill pay 20eur in import fees and then another x amount in import taxes.. Meaning its twice the buy price :/
@@MikeyTheMacaw no worries.... I have a great feeding system but thought it would be nice to see what you have and the variety is a little different than mine. Next time!
I find the tone and cadence of the presentation staccato and strange. I prefer a more serene, fact-packed and scientific presentation vs. the sensational, in your face presentation. Based on this video, I'm not buying the overselling of this food mix. FYI Birdtricks pellets are Tops (Tops advertises by making labels for various youtube influencers, yeah). Your recommendation of a good pellet being a cold press and all others are "cheap" is not scientific. I agree with you that high temp extruded has some bad chemistry but that does not, by default, make any cold press pellet a great food. Tops, by the way, is an alfalfa base and no science has determined that it is good for a South American parrot to consume so much monocot-- Maybe an Australian grass parakeet but the one size fits all not good. Okay you and I agree that parrots should not be fed pellets alone. That said, your mix is not the ultimate answer. Full disclosure, you have no real expertise on parrot diet.
Thank you for the lovely comment. It seems you may not have fully understood the video. Presentation styles aren’t for all, maybe watch a few Jason Crean video for science backed info in the future. You don’t have to buy this, this isn’t an advert, we aren’t just letting the many people know who have been requesting our birds diet they can now try it. Yes, very aware birdtricks are tops minus maybe one ingredient, I don’t think it’s something they wanted to be public knowledge. Not saying others are cheap, but they do use cheap fillers, mostly feed grade not human grade ingredients and with the heat processing, why even entertain that? We don’t feed pellets at all, never really thought they were needed, the only reason we even mentioned pellets so people don’t think we are against them and they have options. Haha our mix is not the ultimate answer? Of course not, pretty sure the packaging states this is by no means a complete diet. It works for us, many others wanted to try it, so far, nothing but great feedback. If you would like to learn more about the scientific facts about avian nutrition you can always book a consult with Dr Crean or Dr Karen becker. Thank you for watching and stopping by the channel. Every few, comment and interaction is greatly appreciated.

Or mix?
We feed fresh chop in the morning we cut fresh, nuts when training, and the dry mix at night. Yes, worldwide shipping.
@@MikeyTheMacaw Thank you very much to answer my questions. When I got my bird. (Hopefully this spring time) I will definitely make an order!😉 By the way so interesting what you are doing about food issues. Really helping.
Please let me know when you get more you’re out of stock right now I’m so excited to try this with my bird
Should be back in stock in the next week or so.
Sweeeeet! Is this stuff compatible with the Eclectus?
Yup. It’s just freeze dried fruit and veg, herbs, edible flowers, spices and a separate seed mix. Suitable for all
Wow!
This is great but i have questions
1: is this good for smaller birds like cockatiels
2: how long will ship from uk to us
Standard international shipping is around 7-10 days, yes cockatiels love it, but we have a small bird mix coming out in a few weeks which would be perfect for them
@@MikeyTheMacaw nice
Quick question. Has any one orderd a bag to Australia and gotten it yet?
I have orderd a big bag, and wondering if austrailias fussy border rules will allow this amazing mix in.
Hey. Yes. Many many bags have landed safely in AU, all standard international shipping we have tracked too and are arriving in around 10 working days, economy can take longer, they say up to 60 days but it seems to arrive around 3-4 weeks
:pretty picture
It sounds great but...... SOLD OUT ? When are you getting more stock. My hungry B&G Macaw is waiting x
Back in stock now!!!
For the flower version, can you make a vegetarian version like without any kinds of worms and etc.
No worms in the latest batch
@@MikeyTheMacaw thank you.
Can yall make a mix for budgies?
Budgies can eat this.
Haha great. We should be back in stock in around 7-8 days.
@@MikeyTheMacaw I bet your stock went fast!! Good to know thanks.
Don’t get it why u guys just have 150k subs u guys earn 2mil! Thanks for the video it help.
Aww thanks.
Do parrot vets actually suggest the mix?
Suggest veg/fruit/seeds/herbs/edible flowers? A vet would be either stupid or uneducated not to…
Hi could I please ask are these mixes only good for macaws or can they be used with smaller birds like parakeet's? I'm desperately trying to improve my birds diet and this could be perfect. Thank you
We have had birds from budges to macaws love this. Suitable for all sizes, feed with a species specific diet though.
This might be a weird question but would you ever do a dry mix without the mealworms? 😅 They creep me out and I don’t feel comfortable feeding them to my bird but would love to feed them the rest of the ingredients.
Haha the batch that went live now has no mealworms.
@@MikeyTheMacaw thanks 😂
What app is that for your birds weight?
Trackit
Can I know the ingredients please? I looked on the website and they are so tiny I cannot read them :(

Back in stock now!!! www.mikeyandmia.co.uk
I would love to buy your stuff but I would have to wait 60 days for a shipping price I could afford because I live in the U.S. Otherwise, it's almost triple the shipping price for it to get it to me in time.
It’s actually been arriving in like 3 weeks for economy, sometimes sooner, give it a go, see how it is.
IF ALEX THE PARROT WAS FED THIS, WOULD HE HAVE DIED
when my parents told me I couldn't get a macaw...
Spent days looking for colleges that allow macaws for when I go to college soon
My limiting factor is the macaw
Hi I'm in the same situation except we recently rescued one and It has to come with me for college/if I move out. Did you find any colleges that work? Thank you!
Eckerd College Maybe, or find colleges that let you live off campus all 4 years@@juliakozbial9635
Yaya first
Im very bummed out you dont ship from within the EU..
If I buy this ill pay 20eur in import fees and then another x amount in import taxes..
Meaning its twice the buy price :/
We ship world wide and you shouldn’t pay import taxes
🥺🥺🥺
Out of stock. 😕
Should be back in the next week or so
First
Well done.
Out of stock 🤷🏻♀️
So sorry. Sold out so fast. Will be back up in a week or so
@@MikeyTheMacaw no worries....
