Hey guys, first off love your channel. Been watching it all the time. First time commenting rob from Vancouver, Canada. The reason I have MX4 Sting is because of you guys now you guys think this is the best Controller out of all the ones you've Tested. the idea You don't have to change the motor or a battery Is what I like Just a 1000 bucks, and you Get a great upgrade. The upgraded battery can come later lol.. Honestly from friends modifying their E-bikes.. I dont see the need to run a 72v on a bike with a controller and with a stock motor at least. The 60V/60ah Upgraded size and power Chi batteries for example, gives you all the same amount of current you need on a bike that probably won't see an upgraded motor or if it is not used for just street riding. Maybe thats why im alittle biased, we do more offroad riding than street riding on our ebikes and half have wider wheels with custom 19"/16" and even a 21"/18" setup with the upgraded MX forks, etc. Upgraded controller's, two are surrons with Torps, and they have soo much more range, and they do 60+mph on a heavier modded woods bike basically lol. Thats good enough for me lol.. Im pretty happy with the stock MX4 power, im just alittle taller/bigger and more power is always fun, but it never really feels underpowered to the point that i cant ride in deep sand or mud. So i really cant complain.. But as far as a 72v 38aH vs 60v 60aH Max, i dont want the taller & seemingly heavier 72v battery that also still gets less range than the 60V setup. All with similar power on these light bikes, with the right upgrades, at the end of the day. I know higher voltage is more efficient, but the stock parts not efficient at all, and it shows in how much of a difference a simple motor controller swap can make on a brushless electric motor setup..

K. o doesn't look promising anymore. Love your videos by the way. Been following you guys from the beginning. Keep up the great work guys. I'm from ny and I ride street mostly and some off road
you cant go wrong with either of those controllers! for a stock battery i would probably go with the torp but if your planning to upgrade your battery then they are both amazing, We definitely prefer them both over the ko.
i wanna make my talaria sting mx4 faster should i get this controller or the tc1000 controller and what else should i do to gain more speed for a cheap price
One test I would love to see you guys. Do a stock MX4 against the new Torp. Controller 21 18 wheel set with the same guarantee. I want to see what the difference is. See, I'm happy with the stock power. I'm worried. I will lose power if I put 2118 wheels on my bike with that new controller. I'm thinking it might be the same. And that would be good for me.
I don’t get how the Torp controller made it top out at 54mph my mx4 tops out at 55mph completely stock out of the box with the brown wire cut, I guess rider weight difference? If I got a torp controller would my top speed be 58-59mph? Since it adds 3-4mph lol

How comparable is the Torp500 on the 72v battery compared to your ebmx x9000? Assuming the x9000 doesnt have the configuration to run as much power on the 60v
Yo talaria boys I have the nucular controller and can push around 13.5kw on the stock battery if you tune the setting from your laptop. It also get rids of the throttle cutout after 10 seconds of full throttle.
Just curious I just bought a nucular controller when they posted theyre video for around 790$ new and I haven't took it out the box yet . Should I return it and buy the torp ? Can I get quicker speeds with the torp . I don't know just cuirous because I don't know anyone else with a nucular

Do you guys think Talaria is going to be releasing anything soon to compete with the Pro-SS speed and price point? Would love to see a quick gearbox driven bike out of the box!
There's no need IMO. The Sting R + TC500 controller is better than the PRO SS, better drivetrain, faster, thumb regen brake, more aftermarket, and quieter and about equal in price or $100 cheaper.
you should do a video with this controller and a 52t sprocket! since the sting r hits the rpm max with a 52t sprocket with a stock controller would this controller fix that? i want to put a 52t sprocket but dont want to lose that much top end
No way. MX4 hit like 120c if you do like 6 seconds of throttle above 14kw. Also with the torp. If you select like 13kw. You'll actually hit like 15kw It peaks like 20% over what you select. If you want to run anywhere near 17kw for more than a few seconds you need a motor too.
You can turn it up as high as the torp power slider lets you once you select the battery type and have your motor calibrated, that is what torp has set as a safe level.
Is Torp going to sell the regen thumb throttle without the wiring loom since it is unnecessary with the TC500 controller? I figured they could knock a few bucks off the price if they sold the thumb throttle by itself.

I put today the 44t oem sprocket on my mx4 with 72v and nucular controller Get now 62 mph topspeed I have 54 t sprocket befor but the mx4 Motor have enough torque So you dont need a bigger sprocket With 54t sprocket i dont get the torque to the ground Now with 44t it is way better More control over the Power (19,4 kw ) and more topspeed For me sweet Spot
I just installed the Torp 1000 on my mx4, when I first put my battery and everything in it came up quick as error 00 but went away once I calibrated motor but when I click on battery info on Torp app it says it can’t read my battery and check my wiring, it also doesn’t let me set my battery current past 120a which means I’m only pushing 7.8KW which sucks for the money I spent on the controller any tips on things to check?
hi guys, please tell me, I want to buy a ko moto pro controller for talaria Sting R, if there are pros and cons, please tell me or recommend something better, no money limit

@@EmotoOregon I'm more skeptical of Erides claims. Although I'm not a huge fan of how much they are pushing the stock battery, 180A is crazy when in most conditions its only rated for 65A
The Pro SS has never really been 12kw. It would be a lot faster if it was, The Torp is only really peaking at 11 and not holding it so if the Pro SS was really 12 or even 11 it would be faster.

My favorite part is the size. I wosh they would make one for super73 and all the other that people mod. Would be REALLY beneficial to have a small controller instead of a brick under your seat.

have a Talaria Sting mx3. what controller should I get for my bike. I have a K.O Nano now. But I like the torp or nuclear. I will be purchasing a 72 volt battery soon. K. o doesn't look promising anymore.
So does that mean you managed to make a 60 volt faster than a 72v?
i wanna make my talaria sting mx4 faster should i get this controller or the tc1000 controller and what else should i do to gain more speed for a cheap price
Just bout my sting a week ago....guess Im about to spend some more money 😊
Ha ha you won’t regret it
I just ordered the controller kit, display, and regen button direct from Torp for under 1100 shipped.
🙌🙌
One test I would love to see you guys. Do a stock MX4 against the new Torp. Controller 21 18 wheel set with the same guarantee. I want to see what the difference is. See, I'm happy with the stock power. I'm worried. I will lose power if I put 2118 wheels on my bike with that new controller.
I'm thinking it might be the same. And that would be good for me.
It’s 4-6 mph faster it’s not a drag race tho
Will I have more torque / power between 20-35 mph to crack the throttle and have wheel come up easier?
Yes, it will
I don’t get how the Torp controller made it top out at 54mph my mx4 tops out at 55mph completely stock out of the box with the brown wire cut, I guess rider weight difference? If I got a torp controller would my top speed be 58-59mph? Since it adds 3-4mph lol
You aren’t actually doing 55. Your speedometer is off. Test with a gps and you won’t get 55
@@Talariaboys i will check that! But another thing we don’t understand how my mx4 is faster than my buddies surron with a bac8000 and bypassed battery lol we’re new to the ebike electrical😂🤷🏻♂️

What kind of helmet is Reed wearing in this video. That thing looks slick.
Guessing this wont work with the mx3?
I'm trying to figure out the same.

Just confirmed with Torp that they have a software updating coming very soon for the controller to work with Mx3 battery and motor, it won't have the same power as the mx4 because the mx3 battery is not as capable but still a nice upgrade. We don't know exactly when the update will release but should be within a couple weeks to a month.

How comparable is the Torp500 on the 72v battery compared to your ebmx x9000? Assuming the x9000 doesnt have the configuration to run as much power on the 60v
They are actually able to run the same power
Perfect!
@@jaxhess on Stock battery and stock sprocket the nucular had more topspeed
Nucular 57 mph
Torp 55 mph
Because nucular do a bit more fieldweakening
Watch the nucular Video again
I dont know what torp topspeed is on 72v
But torp is limited to 18 kw on mx4
I have 19,4 kw with nucular on mx4
@@jaxhess i have changed my rear sprocket now to 44T OEM sprocket
62 mph gps on my mx4 with nucular p24f and 72v battery
And 16 inch rear wheel i get now topspeed
With 19 inch you should get 65 mph
The motor have so much torque that a bigger sprocket is Not needed
For me
With 54t the torque was to much for the trails on higher Power 🙈
Does this lower the range on stock talaria batteries
If you pull full throttle yes you will die faster because you’re running higher power. If you ride how you did before it will be the same.
I have an MX3 and MX4. Definitely picking this up for the MX4....but does anyone know if throwing the soon to be spare MX4 controller on the MX3 is possible/beneficial??
Yes that does work, it will just change the feeling a little. Worth trying out
Hi Guys
another perfect test video, I just hope I didn't make a mistake, because I ordered a nucular after your last controller test, was it a mistake? what do you think which one is better?
sorry if it's not perfect english it's a translator german english
Hey man, you didn't make a mistake, both controllers are very good and each have their benefits, Id definitely still install that Nucular and you will enjoy it!
Was your guys plate that goes over the controller plastic? Mine looks different on the inside and it’s plastic I was hoping it would be metal
Yes it is plastic. It seems durable
would using this at max power and going full throttle a lot have a big impact on range or is it not that noticeable?
For sure! Max power and throttle will drain you a lot faster.
will that controller cover limit the use of some bash guards?
Potentially but I think it would still work with most. Or could be adapted to work.
Will this be plug and play with the l1e version from China? With the bigger display and work with the flashers and everything?
Yes
So whats the best controller for mx4 , torp tc500 , torp tc1000 or the nucular ?
Its a hard question man, we will have a video coming in around a month comparing every controller in one video. They are all very good though
@@robnaugle4149
Exactly!
Should i get a eride pro or the talaria. Street use mainly.
We really like the talaria on the street because of the gearbox. The pro SS has more power and range though
How am I able to buy a new bike when I may want a scroppion really skinny and lightweight and longer and lower
does it work on the l1e?
well the l1e got additional mirrors and lights... why shouldnt it work? ;)
Yes it does!
Would the tc1000 work with stock battery?
Yes!
Hey, can you please say if this is better than the Nuclear or not?!
Personally I like the throttle feel of the nuclear more than torp, but all around, Torp seems to be the better product.
How do I set up my brake sensor or brake regen cause with the tc500 mine is messed up,
You need to go into the Torp app and turn on all those settings, please look through the app until you find them.
you should do a video with this controller and a 52t sprocket! since the sting r hits the rpm max with a 52t sprocket with a stock controller would this controller fix that? i want to put a 52t sprocket but dont want to lose that much top end
You could definitely use the torp and a 52tooth sprocket to get past the rpm limit and go faster
Would you rather the torp controller over the nuclear controller?
Hard decision man
I ordered a torp1000 will I be good to run my stock motor at 17KW on the torp 1000 on a 72v chi battery?
@@Talariaboysdo you guys know the max regen back to the battery I could set? For a chi 72v max?
Is Torp going to sell the regen thumb throttle without the wiring loom since it is unnecessary with the TC500 controller? I figured they could knock a few bucks off the price if they sold the thumb throttle by itself.
They don't include the thumb throttle with the kit... its already only sold separately.
I meant are they going to sell the thumb throttle without the wiring loom. I think it would cost less without the unnecessary wire loom. @@Talariaboys
Does it take much of the range?
The more power you use = the less range you have

@@Talariaboys that makes sense lol
Thanks guys!
I’m curious to if you add this controller to the sur ron X with the 38AH battery, how it compares to this in a drag race with the sur ron being lighter ??? @talariaboys
The talaria would smoke the surron! Even with the surron having a controller the Stock Talaria would be just as fast.
What advantage does this really have over the stock controller for $1000 just for a couple mph faster??
Mostly the adjustability in modes, throttle feel, more torque, and 12 kw of power
Devating whether to go talarias 3x or sting r. FYI, im 5'6, not 6'+ like most of all, you fellas lol. I Have not seen any in person, so was wondering if they are taller than my crf450r or lower? I do prefer more power and upgrade options towards the future.
The sting r is much smaller than a crf 450, they are more like the size of a 125.
