Always thought he was active duty and not a POG/weekend warrior. Like hearing the in depth story but the way he’s talked about the military you’d think he was active and not some dude just showing up for drills one weekend a month 😂
@@SpAzZzZz_ lol no doubt but I’m just saying it makes sense now. Lots of active duty military who don’t see combat hate their time in there because of the monotonous day to day bs from leadership so I always thought it was nice seeing the enthusiasm from Bart but come to find out he fits the exact stereotypes of the POGs who are gung ho about military life when they only show up for one weekend a month
When I was in Bootcamp 10 years ago, at night, just like Bart said you hear crying and you hear people screaming in their sleep from mild ptsd lol. You'll just hear a random "yes sir!" And realize someone is having some sort of nightmare.
Brought back so many memories during my time also haha A notable memory at MCRD San Diego, is when I "lost my money valuable bag (contains SSN, ID, Credit Cards, Debit Cards)" in bootcamp. Right before we were heading to the store in the morning, we did counts and counted off our money valuable bag down the line. We put it bag into our footlocker and headed off to chow. By the way, we leave two recruits back so they can continue tidying up the squad bay while we'll go eat. Anyways, when we returned from chow and got ready to head out to the store, again we counted off our money valuable bag. HOWEVER, mine was no where to be located in my footlocker. Our entire platoon got fucked hard and DI began Tornadoing the squad bay, such as dumping all our stuff in the middle of the squad bay. We lost initial drill bad because we were just getting fucked so bad. the C.O came to talk to me about the missing bag, asked me what I had for breakfast (I told him with great detail) assuming if I was competent. HOWEVER, my friend who was one of the recruits cleaning in the squad bay claimed that another DI from another company came and opened up my footlocker (Which is metal and locked) bent it open and was able to reach and pull the drawstring for the bag. The C.O questioned him also but he couldn't remember what he ate for breakfast and pretty much told him to fuck off Lol. My senior drill instructor was extremely pissed, he grabbed someone's foot locker and infront of the whole platoon to try to prove that the footlockers were secured. He was in straight up rampage mode and try to prove that it was impossible as he proceeds to rip off the lids of another recruit's footlocker (Which proved it was possible LOL) he said "YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT SOME DI CAME IN HERE AND OPEN YOUR FOOTLOCKER LIKE THIS? Anyways, everybody in the platoon turned on me, accusing that I lost it on purpose and no one believed me. Eventually the bag magically appeared in our senior D.I's hand and they pretty much made an example out of me. WASN"T EVEN MY FAULT LOL. Looking back at it, all my buddy's who were in my platoon still laugh back at how stupid that was. Second story (The Reaper) We've reached the bottom of the reaper early morning and the sun was barely peaking over. Seeing the silhouette of the reaper was intimidating, like we are really gonna hike up that thing? Before we started I was extra malnutrition than everyone in my platoon, (Since someone stole one of my MRE) thankfully other recruits in my squad for the crucible gave me some crumbs to fuel me up. As we started and finished the first little hump my body start getting numb and tingly but I pushed through. Once I got to the last hill, I turned straight pale (I am a brown Asian man and weighed 130lb). One of the oldest Marine, 28 years old, we called "Grand Old man" who had the body of "Baby Legs from Rick and Morty," saw me struggling. While hiking behind me he pulled out my water canteen, gave it to me, and took a big swig. He got in front of me and told me to grab onto his pack and literally hauled my ass up there. But like Bart said, everyone up there was crying after receiving their EGA haha. Also you should had mention the zombie walk bag after receiving the EGA, that sucked. I know this is alot but thank you if you got this far. Semper Fi SGT LOR
The best part of boot camp for me was during the end of Phase 2 when my company was sent to medical to get our 2nd round of the covid shot, and Bicillin. The corpsman were mostly Filipinos, so I spoke Tagalog to them and they immediately took me in like I was family! It was great, because after my platoon finished our medical checks the Filipino corpsmen and nurses had me stay behind to help “clean up”. They let me use the bathroom, talk story, and relax for a bit before sending me back to my platoon. It was great
I have really been enjoying this new series of taking a deeper look into what made Bart the man he is today. Thank you guys for creating this new series and sharing your stories.
You talking about your boot camp experience bought back some memories of my own. Like when we were climbing the reaper or mt.motherf-ker. We had this skinny kid from Buffalo New York he was kind of you can say feminine. Well he was struggling to get up the hill so I gave him a hand to pull him up and the drill instructor helped him with his rucksack and it turns out he had nothing in his ruck completely empty 😅and he was struggling. So the drill instructors looked at him and each other and said screws it were almost at the top of hill 😆. Easily one of the best experiences of my life boot camp the camaraderie and depending on your brothers. I’m not a combat veteran so that’s as close as I got to true brotherhood.
in 10 grade there was this black kid, gangsta as hell that people wouldn't want to mess with. Then one semester, I had a swim class with him and on the first day, we all got in the water and dude turned to me, with swim goggles on, all shriveled up and started crying asking for help. I was surprised he even knew my name! We were on shallow water so it was only above our waist. I was confused but helped him out until the teacher arrived and had him practice holding his breathe before submerging underwater. So whenever I hear a joke about black folks can't swim that incident always comes to mind.
I want to see an out the closet about Bart and Joe's time as gang members. I feel like we've gotten bits and pieces of it with the most being brought out during their videos with Johnny Chang, but its always been fascinating for me to listen to.
3rd phase we did our first real hump with a 60 pound ALICE pack. I think it was only 10 miles or so but when I felt that load for the first time I was like, “Shit, this was it.”🤣 Little did I know…
If I meet a kid who doesn't know what he or she wants to do in life, I always suggest the military. Within a few years, the military will jam so many various experiences and opportunities into your life that you'll get a better sense of who you are, what you like/don't like and have skills to walk away with - plus free school. It's also like most things in life. The more you put in the more you'll get out of it. Plenty of people join expecting it to be a silver bullet in some form or another and leave disgruntled despite putting no effort to excel themselves.
I love this show because it brings together highly motivated people who at one point felt lost and manifested to reach great success in there professional life and personal life’s
This might be what was called in my youth a "noob" question (I don't use UA-cam much), but where can I find the previous entries in this series? I feel like I looked in the description and I've searched it...
Hello. All the videos JKnews uploads can be found on their channel page under the videos tab. Their channel page can be found by clicking on the JustKiddingNews under the video title. It also helps if you hit the subscribe button and click on the bell to get notifications when they upload a new video if you haven't already. As to the previous videos in this series.... "How Bart Got Expelled from 4 Different Schools" & "The Divorce of Bart's Parents" are the names of Parts 1 & 2. You can also locate their channel page by putting JK news in the YT search bar. Hope that helps.
Not trying to be a hater but I was also a reservist in the USMC. Boot camp truthfully was nothing close to life changing. Don’t get it twisted it’s good for kids to join to gain perspective but some of the stuff to me seem exaggerated by Bart. But yet again, everyone boot camp is different. Lol crazy thing is I actually watched Bart video before wanting to join he was a huge influence of me wanting to join.
I have to wonder when I hear you new boots say this how soft BC has gotten. When I went through, there were always 2-3 suicides per cycle, multiple drops from broken bones and substance abuse. DIs butt stroking recruits with an AR of hanging recruits upside down from the potholes. I had to take my final PFT on a broken foot to graduate. I'm glad I didn't go to whatever summer camp y'all went through. When I heard they switched the big heavy wood and metal footlockers to plastic I had a feeling....
I can swim, but I can't float. Most of us from the hood can swim. Playful mofos pushed us in, and that's how we learned. I like to throw a silver coin in and find it as a game. Increases lung capacity 💪🏾🫁
Not floating is from low body fat percentage. I was a really lean kid and couldn't do it. My bro taught me to swim on my back, I'd be kicking like mad to stay up and he'd barely move.
The water is an equalizer is so true. Mfs who were afraid of swimming from my division are now cops and shit. Hard to respect lmao buncha scaredy cats during boot
Changed for the better. This is the Careful Boyz era. The best era by far. New segments, new bits, new merch. And it means you've missed a lot. Including when Julia has come back for visits and filmed with the guys when she had some time off from her regular job.

I DIED!!!!!!!!
They don't let you take showers. You take a brief shower in the rainroom and you're done.
