He reminds me of my younger cousin who's also kinda shy/insecure, but he's actually tougher than he thinks. Also little mannerisms. He's the Chinese version of my white cousin. lol
Man.. this is such a good dive in Nick's life. It's crazy how I've been watching for a couple years now just for entertainment and getting a deeper look now. Great segment!!
It'd be funny if this is one big bit, JUST to get him to open up. Like after his last one Steve goes "Thanks for finally sharing Nick, we're done with these." 😂
When you choose your family, you're never a failure. It takes a wise person to step back, look at themselves, and decide to walk away from fighting like you did. Even though you are not competing anymore, your experience, knowledge, and skills are still being passed down to the next generation.
The guys are all hilarious but I'm so glad we doing a deep dive with everyone. It was great of Nick's coach to encourage him to coach himself and guide him to his next stage of his life rather than disregard Nick once his MMA career was over
The fact everyone was locked in for the story and not even making the usual jokes makes it all the more heartfelt. This is why I love the JK fam ❤ Thank you Nick for being so open about his journey
Thank you for opening up and sharing your story with us Nick. I did get to see how happy you are when training the kids though on Lion Heart Jujitsu's YT channel. You can tell the kids enjoy learning from you too.
I related to this story a lot. I'm a professional artist, and I got a lot of carpal tunnel and neck and shoulder problems from drawing too much. Eventually I started becoming an art teacher, and that was a lot less taxing on my body. And I was able to use my talent in better ways.
I just looked up "making weight" from Nick's words. I also discovered "cutting weight," "missing weight," and "catchweight." Cut your weight, Nick. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
dam man, i always like to dream about like "man, if i was able to train MMA early then i couldve went to the UFC", but you never hear the countless stories out there of the guys who never even came close to the UFC. fighting on the local scene seems crazy now
Yea i hear what hes saying.. i grew up playing drums. I got damn good playing. Ended up getting in a band where we toured and made good money doing that. It was awesome except for the part that drumming in a death metal band was getting to me. Arthritis in the hands from holding the sticks and rimshotting my knuckles over and over.. there was a point where i couldnt physically hold onto the things and needed to heal.. on top of that playing 2 hour sets of constant brutal doubles and rolls. Id get through a set and puke n pass out. Then have to get back up and move my entire set which nobody ever helps with.. shit was hard on me. The shit part that i do regret i guess was when i got an offer to join a new band at the time, i didnt know the guys but they wanted me to play with em and that band turned out to get signed and are all millionaires now. Bullet for a valentine. But i turned it down. At the time they were good and had some tight songs. Woulda been somebody. But i hated the van life being a drummer when you dont have a crew to set your shit up.. i couldnt ever sleep much and constantly working. Music was all everybody ever talked about. Straight up.. nothing else.. everytime i would bring up like how i wanted to make some electronic drum triggers from scratch they would brush it off and tell me just to buy some and change the subject. I have too many regrets in this life.. way too many….
Quick question for Nick idk if he’ll ever see this but if your kid is very passionate about fighting, would you support your child to pursue his dreams despite the past you had with fighting and the injuries he could possibly attain in the future?
@bethnichols2875 as long as they get it in the mail it doesn't matter to me of they respond. I have been mailing gospel tracts to tubers who publicly post their p o boxes
Not gonna lie, I thought we would never hear this story 😂 or at least I was expecting this to be a 27 part series bc of how vague and mysterious Nick is in his stories sometimes
Every bit as good as the first episode. Best part? No one ragged on him like the lil bro. No interruptions. No roasting. Just 5 guys listening patiently. Throw a female in the mix? Nah, i gotta change the channel. These are even better than the 1x1 interviews. Now if only they will upload pt 2 of Joe's haircut fiasco faster. My September 2024 will be finito with utter satisfaction
"Oh my god! This guy is trying to kill me."
We need a new shirt. 🤣🤣
I keep thinking about Nick saying, "is this good content?" But his life story is so good! I can't wait to hear more!
truly is GREAT content
He's so nice! -Jason Cheny
I love how brotherly they are with Nick. And Nick is an example of someone that is nice/more than meets the eye that has done incredible things!
He reminds me of my younger cousin who's also kinda shy/insecure, but he's actually tougher than he thinks. Also little mannerisms. He's the Chinese version of my white cousin. lol
this Personalised journey story series is so good... cant wait for all the members sharing their own journeys
Man.. this is such a good dive in Nick's life. It's crazy how I've been watching for a couple years now just for entertainment and getting a deeper look now. Great segment!!
This new format is to set up Nick to open up
It'd be funny if this is one big bit, JUST to get him to open up. Like after his last one Steve goes "Thanks for finally sharing Nick, we're done with these." 😂
I love how everybody is attentive and listening without interrupting
Love hearing about Nick’s story. Kept my attention, last story with Nick, I saw many of the boys yawning. 😂
So good to hear Nick be more opened. He truly loves what he does and you can tell by how easily he talks about it

Why did Steve say basically thank god you stopped fighting before you got memed😂😂
