Halfway through the video. I don't remember where I saw it, but I can confirm that the Traveler's Company Brass uses the Schmidt Fh241 nib unit. I have swapped sizes many times and even got a broad ground to an architect in one of mine! They just screw out.

I’m a newbie to fountain pens (I have 5 in total) and I bought a Preppy in Crystal in Fine - it writes so beautifully, I am really impressed for such an inexpensive pen!

The Preppy really is a fantastic pen - both for beginners and long-time fountain pen lovers. Another really budget friendly option that I still use really often is the Pilot Kakuno. I have one in EF and another in M, and both are fantastic writers for around $10 each.

Have you tried White Lightning, available at Vanness? The tiniest drop into the fill makes the ink considerably wetter. Great for when you want to use a dry ink in a dry pen.

I have used White Lightning before, but I generally just prefer finding the right combo of nib and ink for the most part. 😄 Thanks for watching!

My Kaweco Sport White in medium is in my shirt pocket all day every day. Just a great pen for quick notes. I also use Preppies at my work desk in a normal rotation with other pens. The aesthetics of the Curidas just does not appeal to me, but I enjoy my Vanishing Point. Thanks for a very interesting video.

I still have an old, terribly battered Kaweco Sport Black in fine that looks a mess but still writes as well as when I first got it. I think that's why I like the brass so much. It totally looks fantastic no matter what I put it through, and the nib clearly stands up to a lot of abuse over time. Thanks so much for watching!!

I love my Kawecos. I love the look of the brass but my hands are growing weaker with age 😉 I have looked at the 2nd one but i don't think they are easily available here. The platinums are great, along with my Kakunos, platinum twist & pilot explorer. They are probably my "easiest" pens 🥴

I'm a huge fan of the Kakuno, as well! I have a medium nibbed one that I use pretty regularly, and it does well with pretty much any ink I throw at it. ❤️ Thanks for watching!

I'm trying to decide between the Traveler's Company Brass and the Kaweco Brass... Currently I only have Lamy Safaris.

I would recommend thinking about how you feel regarding weight to decide between the two. Do you think a significantly heavier pen would tire your hand out? It seems like a silly question, but I know plenty of people who bypass heavier pens specifically because they don't enjoy the way the extra weight makes their hand feel. The Safari only weighs about 17g. The Traveler's Co pen is 27g and the Kaweco Brass is 48g, so it isn't an insignificant difference. I love both pens. If you like a wet writer and would enjoy something a little closer in feel to the Safari (weight-wise), then I'd pick the Traveler's, but they're both fantastic additions to any collection. Hope this might help.

@@snarkywordsworth Thanks. I would like more weight than the Lamy, but not sure if I'd want as much as the Brass Sport. The TC seems like it would be a good step forward to see how I feel about weight.
