Nice review DB, and it looks like a really nice pen. The pen that has caught my attention recently is the new Junlai/Wing Sung 632! It looks like the flattop 630, but made in Ebonite with a gold nib. They can be found on 365 Days Stationary. It's on the pricier side. UPDATE: on the Namisu Nova, got an email from Namisu my pen has shipped, and tracking showed up this morning. I'm getting excited.

Great value for the No 8 nib + Ebonite feed + Brass piston assembly.

  • @HomerIncognito

I think it uses the same piston disassembly tool as other Majohn pens (and obviously Asvine). It's similar to the Pelikan M1000, except the nib is steel and the entire pen can be fully disassembled. And lower ink capacity, but it's still very impressive for the money.

Had to snag one of these in white while the #8 was available, a pen with these features tend to be priced way higher. As mentioned some of the hongdian pens (n6,n8,n10) have ebonite feeds, the n10 also sporting a #8 nib. Great review and I can't wait to ink up my pen when it arrives

Can you please do another write test with this pen at some point? I can't decide what #8 nib should I get, fine or medium. I don't want to have a too thick line, but I would like to have a wet line.

  • @JSGilbert
    @JSGilbert Місяць тому

I’ve had the P139 for a few days. I have a medium with a #8 nib. I love most everything about it. I really like the way it writes, but one strange thing is the it has thin downstrokes and thicker cross strokes, and to me writes like an architect. No complaints here, but just a bit of a curiosity. I wonder if this is an isolated thing or if it has happened to others.

  • @Kevinjimtheone

  • @brettsmith1655

My P139 with #8 nib arrives today. I didn't realize it had an ebonite feed..... NICE!!!!
Anyway, just though I would throw out that Hongdian has at least a couple of pens with ebonite feeds. The N10 has an ebonite feed with its #8 nib. I see a couple of other mentions of other models that aren't consistent with my experience, though. My A6 has it but my N7 and N8 do not, despite some others mentioning that they did
So, I dug in a bit and did some research. I think Hongdian is putting ebonite feeds on their #6/35 Long Blade nibs. My A6 is a Long Blade but N7 and N8 are not. That might also explain the $6 jump in price on these pens if you choose the Long Blade option.

Super review. I have one on the way with a No 6 nib . . . I didn't want to risk just having the line discontinued. Rats. Still, looking forward to getting the P139. It would be interesting to see if the Wing Sung (Jun Lai?) No 8 nib is compatible -- a pen as excellent as the P139 deserves a gold nib.

This pen is really done well. This review was done extremely well. Thank you for the detailed information.
I do pull out pistons for maintenance and your observations are very well worth noting. I like that the parts of the pistons are brass. It should hold up very well.
It is a pity that this pen with the #8 nib is not available. I like the white resin very much. I am not an orange fan, myself.

I'm considering purchasing a new fountain pen and have narrowed down my options to the Majohn P139, Wing Sung 630, and Admok M800. I appreciate any insights you can provide to help guide my decision.

Brass innards and an ebonite feed? Wow! Regarding the fidgety process of reassembling the piston mechanism, thanks so much for sharing that frustration with us. I encountered this issue, without intending to take the pens apart, one with a Narwhal and a different pen that resembles a high-price model. I was about to surrender, but eventually got the rods back into the turning mechanisms and moving. Scary when it's all made of plastic. I haven't trusted myself to fill either of these poor things since. I can't tell the difference between piston fillers and the pens whose piston rods are pulled up out of the end of the pen to create a vacuum that is released when the gasket plug on the end moves past some often invisible spot inside the barrel. Eeek!

So, if you would put (press) that Jinhao-nib into the pen, would it adjust and write well? Or can you buy replacement-nibs in different sizes, and if so what to look for? Greetings from Sweden

Love my asvine V126. It would be fantastic and helpful if 365daystationary could get you a Wing Sung 600 to review. It is a pen that I want to order from Ali Express but haven’t had the cajones to drop $300 on a Wing Sung. ShakMD likes the pen. They have some stunning colors (colorful red) all with 18k gold nibs and ebonite bodies.

Doodlebud I need some wisdom, I already have some fountain pens (asvine v126, T1, wing sung 630, jonhao 6019, lamy safary) all of them around 20-30 usd, I want to buy a e95s for around 90 usd but I don't know if is worth it to spend that money in 1 pen or 3 pens of 30$, like the P20, Hongian N12 and p136 for example. Any recomendation?

I got a deal on a Pilot 823.....190.00....I love Japanese F nibs....And the nib on the 823 was Great!!!.... But the EF nib on the Hongdian n12 WAS ALMOST AS GOOD!!! And I was afraid to take the 823 out of the house!!!! So I resold it for 175.00.....and bought an Asvine v126... for 20.00 ( asvine and Hongdian go on sale on Amazon during black Friday...and other Amazon sale days)....and bought 3 Hongdian EF nibs, and put them on the V126, and 2 Majong 9016 pens. The thickness is right in between a Pilot Kukano EF and F.

@@Doodlebud I know you had a bad experience with your first Hongdian (a3). I felt bad for you because Hongdian/asvine is my favourite brand regarding price/quality ratio.
I will always sing praises to my Hongdians. Specially n23 (long blade nib), n7 (f nib, blue peacock (came dry but after break in the nib sings with how smooth it is), n8(a perfect pen).

Hi. I'm new to fountain pens. I got a Pilot Metropolitan and a TWSBI Eco (well, I was actually gifted the Pilot Metro). I like my TWSBI Eco a little better. I like its size, amount of ink, and bigger, smoother-writing nib. I like the classy look of the Pilot Metropolitan, though. I just don't like how cheap it feels (feels like thinner plastic than the Eco), how small it is, and how little ink it holds. Question is: Can someone help me find a fountain pen that writes nice and smoothly, is about the size and ink capacity of a TWSBI Eco, but has the classy look of a Pilot Metro., but preferably with a metal construction? I'm looking for something like that under $100 for sure, but under $50 if possible. I was looking at the Jinhao 9019, but I would prefer a metal construction and there seems to be a weird noise from the converter hitting the body of the pen.
If anybody could help, then I would greatly appreciate it.
