The scene where the criminals were arrested was poorly thought out. The police could have arrested Mimmo and not incriminated him as a whistleblower, so he wouldn't have needed to go into the witness protection system. It seems that the screenwriters obey the old Hays code where LGBTs cannot have a happy ending.
