  • This week’s film breakdown analyzes ex Tampa Bay Buccaneers Quarterback Jameis Winston, who finished the 2019 season with an impressive 5,109 passing yards, but a ridiculous 30 interceptions. After Bruce Arians became the coach, it was time for Jameis to take the next step. Now that he’s a free agent, is he still good enough to be one of the 32 best quarterbacks in the NFL? This episode uses the all-22 coaches film to analyze Jameis Winston’s 2019 season.

      @Ian Jones for one your eli argument is irrelevant eli was a old QB compared to Jameis who 26 still in his prime. And yes jameis is to blame for his mistakes but me personally I dont feel like he was put in the best situation to win Football a team sport Jameis should of had a run game and defense to lean on he still a young QB

    This is another remarkable video. Thanks for posting. Winston has a lot of talent, but as your video points out for whatever reason he just struggles to read defenses consistently. It's a shame, because he could easily be a top starter in the NFL if he could cut down on the turnovers. I do think some of the blame does lie on Arains failing to structure his approach to Winston's strengths. 30 interceptions even for Winston was a lot, especially in the era of ball we have today. I didn't know you broke down 49ers plays on your Patreon. I might have to consider contributing since I am a 49ers fan, and it would be nice to know what I'm actually seeing on the field. Jamesis needs to sit as a backup and learn. He is also a bit too overconfident in his arm and holds the ball too long. Bottom line is look at what Dak has accomplished compared to Winston with mediocre coaching.
      Now let's here the B.S excuses for Dak's success so I can shut you all down

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W 4 роки тому

      @@sw5401 FACTS. Dak was forced to win too often with his arm last season (as oppose to Zeke the high priced RB to control the game with running it in) and despite that he nearly got 5k yards to go with 30TDs/11 ints. Though team performance paid the price as they lost close games with that lack of offensive balance. Meanwhile Winston even before Arians offense last year had some 'less' pass happy approaches and he was still choking up turnovers. Winston apologists seem to overlook that in ANY offense, their boy has always been throwing picks (and sixes) at a pro level regardles despite having one of the best receivers and possibly the shittiest O-lines.

    Bruce Arians has one of the toughest systems for QB, from what I've read. He has so many option routes for his receivers compared to most coaches, that the QB really needs to have great chemistry with his receivers in order to succeed. This is also why I think Tampa isn't going to be as dominate with Brady as people think they are.
    I think Jameis has the potential to be good, and as a Saints fan I would be open to seeing him start. Not until after Brees though, but he should definitely learn from Brees and then let's see him in action. He has a good arm, he just needs better decision making

    That play you broke down against the Rams is exactly why the Bucs offense is going to explode with Brady under center. The second the safeties roll over and show 2 instead of 3, Brady not only has already skipped off Godwin's sail, he's also already off of the go route and targeting the running back. And instead of waiting for the RB to stop on the checkdown, he'll hit him within 2 seconds and in stride for the first down.
    Having watched the Patriots my whole life and more intently as a coach for the last 4 years, I can say without a doubt that's why he threw to James White so much. His route progression is so fast because he never eyes a dead route and can tell which routes are dead right off of the snap

    Dude has a trash organization, for 4-5 years they didn’t even bother giving this man an offensive line to defend him if you watch his games the pocket is always crashing in on him, a lot of people also gas up his receivers a lot of them struggle creating space and then complain when he doesn’t throw it there way, 3rd bucs defense is garbage, 4th he never had a running back to elevate the stress or a decent tight end who can block down and route run. It’s like they never believed in Winston from jump and were waiting for that one guy. Not to mention dude played the whole season with bad vision being not able to see deep down field and he got surgery for, played season on torn meniscus, and a broken thumbs. And he still managed to lead league in passing and 2nd in tds and has broken multiple records, not to mention lastly Arian is a new coach for the bucs

    He’s not a starter this season but this isn’t the end of Winston’s career as starter. Bruce Arians took him to another level in one aspect of his game but he has an issue with accuracy and post snap reads. I feel like Pittsburgh would be a good place for him. They traditionally always play great defense and have a decent run game. Sitting behind Ben and having a change of scenery with a franchise like Pittsburgh could help him in the long run. I don’t see Ben playing much longer. He can run that offense if he becomes a true student of the game.

By next year, most fans will have forgotten that he passed for 5000 yards (though they may not forget his 30 interceptions). TB was not a playoff contender while Winston was their QB and no one cares how much "potential" a player has. TB failed to make the playoffs under Winston. Will he be a starter with another team? Probably but with a low-ranked team whose QBs are worse than Winston is. But no one should expect Winston to miraculously turn any team around. Like Trubisky, Osweiler and Bortles, Winston will be one of those players who are long on potential but short on delivery.

He wouldn't be able to just throw the ball up when he wasn't sure what to do and still get yards out of it if he didn't have them. Huge double standard concerning this kid. TB will pay dearly for just letting him walk. Brady is no doubt one of the greatest ever, but I'm worried that Brady does not have the strength in his cannon that he once had. You have got to have a hand cannon to throw the deep routes of the Arians system. The Tampa Bay Receivers just do not create any space in the underneath routes. This was easily over half of the Winston Ints. NO SEPARATION leads to turnovers. Especially with no consistent running game. Brady will struggle, TB will struggle. If Brady cannot throw he deep outs, posts, seam routes, things will be very difficult for my beloved team. Brady is in a situation that can really go south quickly. He won't be able to hold the ball like he did in NE. He will be forced to try to put the balls into tight windows on his favorite underneath routes which will lead to turnovers because as I said, TB receivers created no separation. The one thing that I am sure of is that Brady will not make horrible decisions with the ball. I like that because every INT is not a bad decision. This that double standard. The receivers and Leftwich will eat most of the blame if turnovers start happening. Winston is not in Tampa because of the Turnovers. It's the choices he made in the past is because if anybody can sit there and say this kid was a bust or he didn't have this or that then you prove the double standard. Frankly, I hate to say it but there is an obvious double standard for Black QBs. This is the reason why Winston is so complex. I don't remember any of this with Peyton Manning, yet Winston has better numbers. How many pick 6s did Manning throw? Jim Mora knows. How about ints? Jim Mora knows. Still Winston has better numbers. And not only Manning. Many other future HOF QBs. I've been watching football way too long. Just take away the 3 ints Winston had in Nashville. Arians himself said they weren't his fault. He's down to 27. Hmm, Peyton had 28. I hate to say this, but if both Tom Brady and Peyton Manning were Black we would have never known their greatness. Bledsoe would have never lost his job. Peyton Manning was a turnover machine but everyone knew his greatness was only a matter of time.

      You’re absolutely right, if only Jameis was white, he would be revered as one the all time greats like Manning or Brady, and we would be celebrating the stellar season he just had. “He’s down to 27. Hmm, Peyton had 28.” Are you really measuring like that? LOL! So you take away interceptions that Winston literally threw because they “weren’t his fault” or something, but all of Peyton’s 28 int remain? You could pick those apart too and get him down to 25? Or 20? Or 10? That’s what sounds like a double standard right there. Definitionally, in fact. Truth is, Jameis Winston sucks. And it’s not because he’s black, it’s because he sucks. There are plenty of great black QBs in the league rn, but he is def not one of them. He’s a turnover machine who can’t read a defense to save his life, an off the field headache and a laughable “leader.” I can link you a video of him eating his fingers if you’d like lmfao. “Who want to eat a W?” 😂😂😂😂

      @TheWhiteWhale You have missed my entire point. For people to get this they have to swallow their pride. Never once did I say Winston was better than Manning,. That's not the issue. It's not about whose better, its about how Peyton, Brees, Favre, and others have gotten the chance to come into their own. Winston did not get the same treatment, even though his numbers are better than all of theirs at this juncture. I'm not going to sit here and say whose better because we all would have our opinions. The turnover machine this kid has been he still has less than those 3. Wanna talk horrible decisions, Favre was the master. But, with this debate we are having, I'm not going to sit here say the NFL is racist. I never said that either. Do not assume you think just because I say there is a double standard concerning Black QBs does not mean the NFL is racist. I'm just saying there is a question that needs to be answered. Even with all of that, I also understand that a lot of it has to do with franchise/coach and the style of QB they want. The two perfect examples of this are two of the guys I named. Brett Favre was hated by Glanville. Favre could have done everything perfect but Glanville didn't like him because he was careless with the ball and where he played college. They had arguably one of the best QBs in NFL history and they basically gave him away all because the Coach didn't believe in him. Now a real Coach in Mike Holmgren who came from under a real Coach named Bill Walsh saw something that others did not. He took 3 of his young offensive coaches and their jobs were to fix this kid into an NFL QB. Those 3? Mariucci, Reed, and Gruden. They put him in a system that fits him. This is what's lost in the NFL. Brees was in the same boat. Undersized, average arm, nothing spectacular. San Diego gave him away to a young coach who came from under one of those real coaches named Parcels. Shawn Peyton took him when nobody else was interested. I say all of that because they are amazingly treating RG3, Winston, Cam, Bursette as if they cannot play on this level or at an elite level. That is stupidity. So when I say double standard I am definitely not saying it's all race and nothing else. There are other factors as well. The problem is that the people are using arguments to justify why these guys don't belong. Now there is the double standard. You follow me now? I would RIP your lungs out if you think I'm someone who the its because I am Black and everything is racist crap. I hate that crap. This is the reason you totally misunderstood what I was trying to say. Preconceived notions cause a lot of misunderstandings. Anyway, I hope I clarified things. It just seems Black QBs do not get the same room to grow and mature. But there are many other White QBS who did not get the same thing either. One name. Ryan Leaf. That poor kid was setup for failure. He had no chance and still to this day given the right opportunity he could have been something special. Look, that same franchise got rid of Drew Brees, lol. Let me go. You can tell I'm a preacher. Long winded. Pass te collection plate will you? Lol

      He is worth $30 million a year, that is what Matt Ryan makes, Wentz gets $32, Goff gets $33, Cousins get $28, Tannehill gets $29, Garoppplo $28, Brissett $28 and you think that Jameis should take less as the cap goes up, revenues go up and they add another game to the season. But Jameis throw for more yards, more touchdowns, and more completions last season then those guys. Not one of those guys won a super bowel. Tannehill hasn't had a good year until this one and Jameis was better. Matt Ryan lead the Falcons to the exact same record as the Bucs. Look at Goff's numbers, he and Garopplo are just system QBs they can't lead a team. Wentz is made of glass, and plays in one of the worse divisions in football right now and limped into the playoffs.
