Learn how to do the Honeycomb needlelace design pattern. Armenian needle lace is one of the rarest, richest, and simplest arts, and you can enjoy it with a single needle and some thread.
In this video series, I teach a start-to-finish tutorial for creating Armenian Needlelace, which is the beautiful art of Armenian needlework. This art, also known as point lace, iğne oyası (Igne Oyasi in Turkish), Nazareth Lace, Bebilla, and Knotted Lace, is centuries old. I learned this art growing up in a Lebanon orphanage when I was a little girl.
I hope to continue sharing this art with you all. Thank you so much for your support!

At this time when life is upside down your instruction truly is a gift. I'm so grateful for the chance to learn your techniques.
Melanie Foshee my pleasure Melanie!
Super duper
I sure love how you teach. So easy to follow and succeed in making this lace. I would like to see how to make a long strip to add to a table cloth that is a rectangle. Maybe a future episode?
Thank you so much, Alisha! Your words are very encouraging to me. I'd love to make a long strip in the future. For now, one of my latest videos might have some useful information for you about straight edges. Here's the link to that one: ua-cam.com/video/Pv2OdjGCO_g/v-deo.html

Apreciá-lo! Chama-se Renda Agulha Armênia, e aqui está o artigo da Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_needlelace
Thank you Ashely for continuing these lessons. I learned this needlework from my Arminian grandmother in my teens. Then days go by with family but I always wanted to get back to it. What is a better time to do it all over again. Thank you.
My pleasure Carla. Thank you so much for watching them. I’m so happy you’re continuing this art. Please keep in touch in the comments!
I was going to make turnip pickles today that I make once a year. Your segment of making it came right to my screen and easier way then mine. Thanks again.

Hello! I am so happy to see a new upload from you! I learnt to make the small circles seeing your videos. I practised making many, and made a small rectangle mat using six circles. It is a very engrossing art, and almost like meditation. Also, the lace looks delicate but is really strong. Many thanks and eagerly waiting for more!
So happy to hear this Ruchir. Yes, more videos are coming. Thank you for keeping this art alive!
Boa noite mt lindo.Eu aqui no 🇧🇷 também faço. Eu uso 2 agulhas no ponto maior eu uso o lápis. Estou aprendendo novos modelos.Leila Herculano alfenas mg Brasil ❤

Muchas gracias . Precioso precioso
Maribel Parra Castaño gracias maribel!
Hello. Very clear instructions. I do many different mediums, i.e. crochet, knit, tatting and from experience, I have had to increase loops from time to time, because it will not lie flat otherwise. How do you keep it flat without adding more loops?
Hi, thank you for watching! I address this issue in this video: ua-cam.com/video/xheZa-waI1U/v-deo.html
This is beautiful. Would love to learn.
You should! Keep watching, it's very easy.

Tku dear for the tutorial. It's very clear. Do u use a blunt needle like cross stitch needle or sharp needles.
Sarah Bhuyan thank you! check the links in the description for the link to the needles
Tanks 😇😇😍😍💞💐💐💐💐
You're so welcome! Did you start a pattern yet?
Hello Ashley, hope u r doing well.
I have finally done upto the honey comb.
I hv a small doubt. I am.not sure how to proceed.
After the honey comb, I have to do an in between flower and then proceed to the next rows.
Do I stitch one flower or more than one flower in each space. ?
It looks like in one of your works, you have done one flower each in each space and another one I find you alternate between 1 and 2 and at times 2s and 1s.
I hope I am not confusing you. Just pls.let me know if u hv understood my question.
I am enjoying the work. Thank you so much dear Ashley.
Sarah, I call those "soldiers." I put one soldier on each "hexagon" of the honeycomb. It should be 1:1, but it's not an exact science. If the spaces are too large, you could add 2:1 or 1:2. No problem!
