Hey Cassie. Hope you’re well. I pretty much do what you’re teaching here but can make some changes. My question is if I’m doing the same design on six products, do I just copy and paste the title, description and tags through all six? Thanks for your help
Yes you can use the exact same SEO but maybe change it a little bit depending on the item type. Or try a few different keywords to see if you can come up in different search results, both are good options!
Such great advise, thank you! I've been matching my tags too much and using the same words over and over, switching it up on some new listings today! Thank you!

I'm only 4 minutes in and already it's great! Thank you so much for the helpful content. So many people say to "niche down"...and I appreciate how you illustrate it. Thanks Cassiy!
Cassiy, do you think it's too late to focus on a niche with just a bit over a month left? I feel like my timing has been off and I'm excited to get ahead of something. I know in the LIfe Hacker Success Academy Jarran says to start posting 3 months ahead. Do you think it's a little late to spend much time on Pride? When I dive in, I could be on it for a couple weeks and I really want improve my timing.
Thank you for being so specific in how you shared your SEO process. I'm curious how you change up your SEO to do 3 different blocks, if you in fact do that. Is that in one of your other videos already?
So I don't think it's too late for Pride because these kinds of designs can sell much more often than just in the month of June if that makes sense, where as Valentines Day shirts really probably only sell right before Valentines day. Ideally you are 8-12 weeks in advance for designs though you are right but I keep listing as we get closer to the holiday, because if one type of design starts to take off, I'll add it to another color, make a new version etc. and those will start selling as well because you found some winning keywords if that makes sense. My best selling Christmas sweater for 2021 was a trend I found on I think 11/4 and sold 400 of them by the end of November! So it's never too late to hope on really hot trends! But maybe don't spend weeks on it, maybe just spend a day or two making 10 designs to see if you can get some sales and then now be ready really in advance for next year!
So like in this example, you see I had all of the huge block of SEO words I found at the top and then I picked and chose which ones to use in that example but I could have tried different things as well. Personally I would keep all the big keywords that you want to rank for and then switch out maybe 5-6 keywords in the tags of different keywords like teachers, gift SEO etc. For Pride specifically, you could do all the different kinds of pride like Lesbian, Pansexual, Non-Binary etc. there are lots of different sub niches you can try to use in your SEO. But I don't always come up with three blocks, sometimes your design is too specific for that so don't pressure yourself to do it for every listing.
@@CassiyJohnson Thank you so much Cassiy. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the inspiration and the details. I can't wait to get back on here and tell you that my shop has really taken off.

Thank you for the information you provided. I have a question on my mind. if we take the words from the best selling products, wouldn't we have a performance problem because those words are the most words? i mean, wouldn't we have a problem because the competition is high in these words?
No not necessarily, there is enough room for everyone since Etsy shows different search results to every person based on what they have clicked or purchased in the past and where they live etc. I have gotten bestsellers for keywords like "teacher sweatshirt" before even though it seems oversaturated!
Great tips, thanks so much! So you're saying no need to repeat shirt in the title or tags a bunch of times? Once is enough? Use tees, tops, tshirt etc for variety? I have been repeating shirt several times. I've seen best sellers do this too.

Hello! I have 2 questions😊 1. I’ve noticed if you sort the analytics for most overall sales, but if you just go on Etsy to see what’s best sellers and 20 in the cart, some of the analytics don’t match up with what’s actually best sellers. Like the first shirt on the most sales in everbee is not a best seller or doesn’t have 20 in the cart on etsys website. Does that matter? Should we still go for best seller or should we go off of everbees analytics? 2. Would you happen to know why everbee only shows 64 listings when you click on the analytics? Hope this makes sense! Thanks in advance 🤗
Great questions Gabriela! 1. If you sort the results by Most average sales per month instead then I bet it would line up better to the best sellers and 20 in the cart on Etsy! I like to look at the older listings that have gotten consistent sales for a long time and the ones that are newer best sellers so I get a really well rounded SEO, you will typically see the same keywords in both though. 2. Everbee only sorts the results on the page you are on! So if you click the next page, then you can click analytics again and it will sort those as well! It will do the same thing with someone Etsy shop. You can always sort the search results by "Most Recent" in the top corner and this will show you the listings that have most recently sold or most recently been listed. Hope this helps but let me know if you have any other questions
Totally up to you! Most people on etsy do not take returns or exchanges but offering this might help you to stand out and get more sales as a new shop if you don’t have many reviews or sales.
Hi Cassiy, thank you so much for you video I learned a lot so much I appreciate it. Quick question? where can I download this software you are using for tags? What’s the name? Thanks

@@CassiyJohnson and I live in flip flops down here in south Florida:) Cassiy did you see my other question about mock-up video that I asked under another video of yours this morning? - Gabe
I like them both for different things, I use Everbee more because I am constantly sorting the results and looking at them all at the same time on one page on Everbee. I use them mostly for finding new niches and getting my base SEO that I want to use. Then I use Sale Samurai to see how many people search per month for those keywords I found on Everbee. You really don't NEED either one though honestly. I didn't use any services like this until about 6 months ago but they do make things a lot simpler and faster!
Thanks for this video, as always very helpful!! I have a question for you, maybe you can help me :) I'm from France and I 'm thinking of opening an POD etsy store . My question is how can I be sure that even if I'm in France, US people, or canadian, or japanese, etc.... will have access to my store? Should I write all my descriptions in english? Should I write all my tags in english? Not sure hox etsy works for that. Could you help me?
Hi Valerie and welcome to the channel! When you add your items for sale, you need to select where you are willing to ship them, and then this will add you to those other markets! You can also turn "Auto Translation" on so they will translate the languages for you. A lot of international sellers though honestly only sell in the US since it's the biggest market for Etsy and then you only need to worry about checking trademarks in one country instead of multiples for every single listing. I know the UA-cam channel, Wholesale Ted, she lives in the Netherlands and only sells to the US. She may be a better resource for you for selling internationally.
Definitely helpful information. I think I was matching too much. However, I do have a question. With your POD Etsy shop did you run into your shop being shut down? My shop was up for 3 days and has now disappeared. I've been frantically trying to contact Etsy so we'll see what happens but it definitely bummed me out. I heard it was common but still...
Ugh I am so sorry that is happening to you Nikki! My shop got shut down for a month because Etsy was really behind during the beginning of the pandemic. They were great about giving it back though so try not to stress. Just send them an email and check in in a few days, you'll likely get it back no problem!
@@CassiyJohnson thanks for your message. I did email and I was very persistent lol so it took about 2 maybe 3 days and I got my shop back. Then I tried to purchase a mockup and my shop got suspended again lol but now it's back. Thank you for your help!
Hi Cassie, thanks for sharing. I have a question. If I upload an item to my store, how many days after it'll be ranked? I mean, I've heard Etsy detect this item in 10 minutes and if it's SEO is good, it's ranked in 1st page. I realized that one of my item ranked so quickly in 1st page and sold in 6 days. So, I change my title, tags, description for my item if it's not ranked for the 1st page. Is it ok if I change all of the things regularly? Or Do I just wait a little? Because I realized that one of my product isn't ranked so well, so I changed it so that its rank is well. And that's all. It's ranked. Do I change or wait? What do you suggest?
Hello again, Cassiy! Thank you so much for all that you do in helping others find success with Etsy. Question, please: Do you recommend doing a separate listing for each color you offer or put all the colors you offer in one listing?
I've tried it both ways and haven't found a huge difference, most people buy the color shirt from the thumbnail. Either way, just having it in multiple places is a good idea so you come up more times in the search results. If you do the colors in the same listing, just copy the listing in Etsy and change which mockup is the thumbnail image!
@@CassiyJohnson Thank you kindly, Cassiy! I have been listing a lot since we last wrote. I have a question, if I may: When doing matching couples shirt (e.g., pregnancy announcement), what colors should be offered for mom and dad? This may present a problem because normally I only offer black and white tees for both men and women. Could just black and white work for both?
@@waketagolz7553 Black and white work great! If that's all you decide to offer, then you will be fine! I like to sometimes offer colors for the holiday though, so for Fourth of July, doing red and blue. Or you could do navy and gray even. St Patricks day, white and green, Christmas green and red etc. If its not for a holiday though then navy and heather mauve sell really well for couples shirts as well but again you will be fine with black and white!
Thank you for this video, I just need help with the shipping. I want it to be free but I think it would be best to just stick to USA clients because shipping is so expensive everywhere else.
@@CassiyJohnson Lovely nudgets :) I want to sell only to US & Canada so after deleting other countries, will Etsy stop advertising those listing as well ? Reason I am asking because I have seen my ad budget is consumed maximum during US night times for the particular days without any sales.
I typically take less than 5 minutes per design. My best advice if you are having trouble with this is to remember that SIMPLE SELLS. Most of the best selling shirts out there are just nice blocky fonts on shirts. Spend some time finding 20 ideas for shirts, then just put a nice font on to the shirt as a design and maybe add a tiny rainbow at the top of it and then change the words out for each design. Don't overthink it!
@@CassiyJohnson Although I realize that simple designs sell, I have trouble really getting it into my head and making it happen. Sounds dumb, doesn't it? I'm going to remind myself of your answer every day now :-) Thank you so much for your advice and for being responsive to your viewers. Not everyone does that.
@@oooBoEoNooo I know I always felt really appreciated and heard when UA-camrs respond to my comments, so real glad I can help other people as well! ua-cam.com/video/johQkeJrBds/v-deo.html make sure to watch my video on making best selling designs if you haven't already, I have some great examples of exact layouts you can use for your designs!
Hello Cassiy! You have such an inspiring channel. The main source of my frustration is exactly how many shirt colors to offer customers. I am having analysis paralysis over this. I would like to just offer black and white (so that I could focus more on design), but I feel that the lack of color choices is a turn off. I would appreciate any insight you could give over this. What is your advice on the absolute maximum number of colors to offer customers? Thank you!
Hello Waketa! You are not alone in your analysis paralysis, our customers get this too! So I don't like to offer more than 2-3 colors. My main colors I sell are White and Athletic Heather. Sometimes I do black, dark gray heather or heather peach depending on the design but those 5 colors are the only ones I pretty much ever sell with the exception of Maroon in the fall, and holiday colors for holiday shirts. Don't overthink it, Black is the best selling shirt color out there.
Also, Cassiy, would you recommend a color chart with only the colors that you offer? Or since I'll only be offering less than 10 colors they can choose from the dropdown list and I would just link the photos to that particular color mockup so they could see what the design looks like on that particular shirt. Another idea I had was just to feature the design itself on a color chart on those particular colored shirts to make it easier for the customer. Thanks again!
@@waketagolz7553 You can only have 10 photos and you still want to have a size chart as well so if you are going to do a color chart then still have at least 2-3 pretty mockups since that is what really sells the shirt, and then a color chart with all of the ones you offer. But make sure the print provider you pick has all of the colors on the color chart you pick, or buy a customizable color chart so you can pick the colors.
The same exact advice would apply to coloring pages! Just make sure you are niching down in your designs and niching down in your SEO. Also make sure that you are designing in niches that people are already buying in! Also it takes time to get sales, sometimes 3-5 weeks after you list it. So just be patient and keep designing, you will get there!
I did it the free way for most of the time I have been selling, so just doing exactly like this video but clicking through each listing separately. You can totally use some of these other softwares but just using the keywords all the best selling shirts are using is a great way to success as well!
Thanks for the video! You mentioned not to repeat key words (like bridesmaid shirts can become "bridesmaid proposal shirts" and that would cover both. However, you also said etsy does exact matching. So if thats the case, and someone does type in exactly "bridesmaid shirts" wouldn't the fact that i included propsal in between not give me the exact match search anymore, but just the broad search?
Have you made a video showing this full process without using the everbee extension? im sure a lot of us would find a ton of value in that!

You really don't NEED either one though honestly. I didn't use any services like this until about 6 months ago but they do make things a lot simpler and faster!
@@CassiyJohnson thank you! The investment is worth my time. I only have Sale Samurai at the moment, but Everbee is so tempting… $$$ are my language.
@@CassiyJohnson Many thanks for your answer!!!!
Does adding stuff under “Materials” help in SEO?
@@CassiyJohnson Thanks again, Cassiy. I'm looking forward to my shop review!
@@waketagolz7553 I'll be sending that over later today, thank you for trusting me with your business
Shell we use others tags as it is in our listing???
This is a great video very helpful. Especially because lgbtq is my niche.
So glad you enjoyed it then!!
Thank you for this video, I just need help with the shipping. I want it to be free but I think it would be best to just stick to USA clients because shipping is so expensive everywhere else.
No problem! When you edit your shipping profile on Etsy, you would just delete every country but the US!
@@CassiyJohnson that is what you do right?
@@mamabtinytreasures Yes I ship only to the US as well!
@@CassiyJohnson Lovely nudgets :) I want to sell only to US & Canada so after deleting other countries, will Etsy stop advertising those listing as well ? Reason I am asking because I have seen my ad budget is consumed maximum during US night times for the particular days without any sales.
4:50 You mention doing 25-50 designs for a niche (in the example LGBT Pride Month).
Approximately how long does it take you to create a design?
I typically take less than 5 minutes per design. My best advice if you are having trouble with this is to remember that SIMPLE SELLS. Most of the best selling shirts out there are just nice blocky fonts on shirts. Spend some time finding 20 ideas for shirts, then just put a nice font on to the shirt as a design and maybe add a tiny rainbow at the top of it and then change the words out for each design. Don't overthink it!
@@CassiyJohnson Although I realize that simple designs sell, I have trouble really getting it into my head and making it happen. Sounds dumb, doesn't it?
I'm going to remind myself of your answer every day now :-)
Thank you so much for your advice and for being responsive to your viewers.
@@CassiyJohnson Thank you so much for this tremendous insight. I like to learn from the best!
Please give me a tips for Coloring pages 😭 i have 8 lisiting buy no sales 🙏
The same exact advice would apply to coloring pages! Just make sure you are niching down in your designs and niching down in your SEO. Also make sure that you are designing in niches that people are already buying in! Also it takes time to get sales, sometimes 3-5 weeks after you list it. So just be patient and keep designing, you will get there!
✌️❤️🙏....Great lesson!
So glad you enjoyed it ❤️ thanks for watching and commenting!
Except ever bee there's a different way to find keywords?
Erank , Marmalade, Etsy Search hope that helps x
I did it the free way for most of the time I have been selling, so just doing exactly like this video but clicking through each listing separately. You can totally use some of these other softwares but just using the keywords all the best selling shirts are using is a great way to success as well!
Well done 👍
Thank you, Rana! 😊
Do you know if spelling of t shirt (T shirt, tshirt, tee shirt, t-shirt) matters? Will any spelling generate the same results? 🤔
You are so beautiful ❤❤
Great video, very helpful! I think you may have figured this out but just in case, next time put your hair back so it doesn't scrape the microphone.
Yep sorry, still learning all about how to make great videos!!
